My mum recently moved into Normanby House on the 1st of October. We were made to feel very welcome in the relaxed environment. It is very accommodating with flexible visiting. My mum's room is clean and comfortable, the staff do an amazing job and I'm confident that my mum will get the care she requires.

I have been taking my husband to Alba Rose for the last six weeks on Mondays and Wednesdays. The staff are brilliant, helpful, caring and remember your name! The activities run by a particular staff member in the morning and afternoon are really good. Clients are not left on their own with nothing to
do but sleep!

It was difficult to say the least to have to realise that my Mum needed more care than I could give, but I was so glad that Normanby House, which my research had shown me was the best choice, was able to find a place when we really needed it. I'm in a good position to do a review now as I'm there every
day, and have got to know the excellent and lovely staff as they've got to know Mum, and I can see that they're taking great care to do the best for her. The manager and her deputy are diamonds, anything is actioned without fuss. I'm never made to feel I'm in the way, quite the opposite, no matter how busy all the staff are. Always welcoming. Very clean everywhere, and all up to spec., a lot of attention is paid to make a good and safe environment. The food is excellent, a great chef and kitchen team. I've always been impressed with the way St. Cecilia's group go out of their way to attract the best staff and run their homes, so I'm glad I was right!

Couldn't ask for kinder people/staff to care for my wonderful Dad. For the 3 months my Dad was in Jubilee House, Whithy he was loved, and dealt with care and kindness by all the staff. Every effort was made to make what little time he had in comfort and surrounded by caring people who work very hard
in a busy environment that has a lovely feel to it. Every effort has been made to make it inviting for all, it is a fantastic place made more lovely by the great standard of care and kindness by such wonderful carers. I appreciate you all, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The care at Jubilee House is outstanding. My Mam came into the home after being very poorly and having had a two-month stay in the Hospital, she has picked up so much and become her happy, smiling self again thanks to the lovely staff who are always happy, polite and so wonderful and genuinely caring.
She has a lovely room, meets new friends, enjoys the activity games and also the occasional visits of pets, bus rides out, and is very close by to see the sea - what a wonderful atmosphere for all of the residents.
I cannot thank the staff at Jubilee House enough.

I visit my friend who lives here usually weekly. The carers are always welcoming and happy to help. The patience and the way they look after residents who are often in distress are second to none. They all do an amazing job - the manager is around and involved in activities in and out of the home and
is always happy to help or answer any questions.

The home has a new management team but continues in the same ownership. I live a long distance away and was worried about who I would be able to speak to about Mum. The new team have gone to great lengths to give me the opportunity to meet and get to know them all. I am very satisfied and Mum is very
happy here.

When I arrive to visit my mum she always has a smile for everyone. All the staff are very caring towards her needs and are always at hand to help and talk to her, nothing is too much trouble. She enjoys the activities, entertainment and visits to other venues which is nice to see. It is lovely to be
made so welcome by everyone, the staff always have time to interact with residents and visitors too and are always available which makes this a happy caring home.

My mum was discharged from hospital into the care of Jubilee House and I am so pleased that she was. From the moment she arrived, I knew this was absolutely the right move for my mum. The whole team at Jubilee are fab and they are brilliant with all of the residents (and relatives too!) Nothing is too
much trouble. Jubilee House has a wonderful feeling about it. The way they care for people is evident. I’m lucky enough to be able to spend time with my mum most days and it’s like visiting a big family! If I’m not able to visit for any reason, I know she is safe and well looked after and that’s a huge relief. I honestly can’t thank them enough and I’m so grateful to each and every one of them.

The staff at Jubilee House are all very approachable, caring and professional. Whenever I have a concern or need any help or advice with regards to Mum, the managers have always been able to spare the time and have been understanding and helpful. Mum is happy, feels secure and is much calmer now that
she lives at Jubilee House. She is well-fed and entertained.

Having had a fall, I realised I couldn't manage on my own, so went into Alba Rose for a couple of weeks.
The care of the staff was 5 star, nothing was any bother to them. I had a lovely room, was very impressed with the care that was given to everybody.

Our relative is extremely well looked after. When she was unwell recently, the doctor was called promptly.

The food seems very good, and although it is a small home, they appear to have activities most days.

I cannot praise Alba Rose and every single member of the team highly enough! My 93-year-old mother was reluctant to leave her own home, where she was struggling to manage, so we eased her into Alba Rose gradually with daycare and then onto being a full-time resident. Every single member of the team
helped make this a fairly easy transition, and now Mum would not like to be anywhere else. She looks forward now to each new day and never feels lonely or isolated anymore, and, more importantly, for her and her family, she is and feels very safe. Who would have thought that at the age of 93, you can have a new lease on life... Alba Rose has made that possible!

Saint Cecilia's Nursing Home

from Stephanie W (Friend of Resident) published on 8 December 2023
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My friend was released from hospital too early. St Cecilia's nursing home stepped in on a Sunday and took him in when A&E just kept sending him home. He was made very welcome by all the staff. They have looked after him really well keeping his pain under control and taking him to hospital for appointments
and when he had another fall (nothing to do with Saint Cecilia's, he was being taken for a walk out of the homes grounds). He is now able to come home with carers in place. I would like to thank St Cecilia's for all the care and consideration that has been shown to him.

This is the third home where my husband has been a resident since his dementia worsened and it is so much better than the previous ones. At last I a free from worry about his well-being in the hands of the best staff imaginable in every respect. Equally, the management is of the highest standard. This
is a real 'home from home' and my husband is as safe and content as he possibly can be.

I have been very pleased and impressed with the care and thoughtfulness shown towards my mother (Who passed away in Alba Rose in October 2022) and my father (still a resident and 95 years old) since they called Alba Rose home in December 2020. The management and all of the carers have shown wonderful
patience, love and understanding to both of my parents. They have also shown tremendous respect and thoughtfulness and been helpful, without complaint, to both myself, my sister, and other relatives and friends who have visited Alba Rose. Communication is brilliant, and the attention to detail is faultless. My parents really could not have been in a better place.

My mum, who lives with Alzheimer’s, moved into Alba Rose at fairly short notice, in January, and from the initial contact to today I have had nothing but admiration for the staff and management of the home. They are kind, caring, efficient, and helpful. The house and mum’s room are always spotless,
tidy and fresh-smelling. The food and snacks are freshly prepared by a wonderful kitchen team and served with courtesy and an awareness of personal preferences. Activities are offered every day and include trips out in the home’s own minibus to (amongst others) coffee shops, gardens, the moors, and more recently a weekly singing therapy session. Relatives are invited to meet up with their loved ones on these trips, which makes them into more of a treat for the residents, and a nice relaxed way of spending time with family.
I feel so blessed to have my precious mum close by and to know that she is content, safe and being well cared for and that I can see her whenever I choose.
