Our mum went into the home in December 2024. The care and compassion which the staff gave her was excellent. They were able to understand her needs and deliver. Their patience with her was sometimes above and beyond and we can't thank the staff enough. Unfortunately Mum sadly passed in February 2025,
the aftercare Mum and we received was excellent.

Wonderful people and place!! The staff are truly fabulous. So kind and informative. Couldn't of asked for better!! They never got fed up of me calling every day to see how Grandma was. They treated Grandma with respect and care until she sadly passed away. My mum was away when grandma passed away so
I found them just amazing. They all do an amazing job. Thank you!

Always find the staff approachable and caring towards my aunt. I never let the home know when I am visiting and they are always welcoming and able to provide information when asked.
At the moment the access to the second floor isn't ideal eg via the laundry and only a lift but my aunt is safe, clean,
cared for and likes the staff which is all I want for her.

Highgrove Residential Home

My mum had to come into Highgrove for rehabilitation after suffering a broken hip. She is 102 years old and was lucky to survive but even luckier to be placed in such a caring environment. She was there for a total of 6 weeks and recovered sufficiently to be able to go home with support . The care she
received was outstanding from everyone but she had a lovely bond with several members of staff. The management team were very professional and communication fabulous . . Unfortunately since leaving her health deteriorated and has been placed in another care home as there was no place at Highgrove, we are gutted as a family ! The carers are equally lovely where she is but the environment isn't in the same league . Thankyou for all your care we are very grateful and wish she could have returned to your care

Reply from Angela Moore, Manager at Highgrove Residential Home

Thank you so much for your lovely review of our services, it always means so much when we know we have made a difference, Im also pleased for both you and your mum that she is now back with us for a some more tender loving care.

There has been time when we have not been informed of falls and staff haven't always been pleasant when asked about things relating to medication if we don't agree with the care home about the care they provide they get very standoffish and don't like it they do get a lot right but it's the other things
that lets them down they need to communicate with the residents families.

Making the decision to put mum in a home was a difficult one but was made easier by the team of staff at St James. They have gone the extra mile to make mum feel settled and happy in her new home and always have time to chat with me and my sister to reassure us as well. St James Court is a bright,
vibrant and happy place.

My mum has been a resident for only 3 weeks and what a difference I have seen in her, she has been welcomed and is treated with dignity, she looks happy and is always clean as are her clothes. The food looks lovely and mum is eating well. Her room is lovely recently refurbished with bright colours,
and residents are allowed to personalise their rooms, tv, shelving, photos etc. making the surroundings more familiar for them. All the staff are amazing and attend to all her needs. The activities are varied and a singer comes along once a month. I was very apprehensive about a care home for mum, her mobility has failed her at 90 so can no longer live at home, but can honestly say it's the best thing for her. Thanks to the staff and the manager for making her feel welcome, and any questions are always dealt with promptly, the manager and the staff are always very approachable and very caring. It's a pleasure visiting mum, Thank you Richmond care home.

The staff and the accommodation at the St James Court are fantastic. I am in no doubt that my dad is receiving the best care for dementia and he is in a safe environment. I live abroad and I am stress-free each time I visit him and then leave. I didn't think he would settle in a care home, but thanks
to the hard work of the staff he did. The staff at the home are his family now too.

My uncle was with The Royal Care Home for a few days only. I thought the staff were very helpful and kind. He was treated as an individual. I was able to say my goodbyes in privacy in a pleasant room which allowed us both some dignity. He died during the early house of that night but I am so grateful
for that special goodbye. Hospitals do not offer the same chances.

My Mum has been at St James Court for fourteen months. It was a heartbreaking decision but Mum has settled in really well thanks to all members of staff. Any problems have been sorted efficiently and promptly, the staff are polite, caring and have a great sense of humour and are easy to get along with.
All areas of the building are spotlessly clean, there is a good varied menu and Mum enjoys her food. I would highly recommend St James's.

I'm so proud of the team we have here at St James Court and as always go above and beyond and are always happy in their jobs as you probably see on your visits, always laughing and singing with the residents, it helps that we have such fun-loving service users who also love to join in the banter as I say. Our mum has been in this excellent care home since 2019. She absolutely loves it. Knowing she is there, safe and happy, has enabled us to enjoy our time with her and genuinely feel content that all her needs are catered for. There is great communication and we find the social media page, which celebrates
the care home community, a source of great joy. We have found all the care providers to be professional and helpful, and the team are excellent. Well done everybody!

We have had a tremendous amount of support in terms of the high standard of care, emotional support as well as the provision of carefully crafted range of activities for residents to engage in.
