Almost 4 years since my sister when into Holywell House Care Centre and she is still as happy. Considering she has dementia she is actually better now than when she first went there. Her mind is kept active with the activities she does and the entertainment that is on. She is enjoying life and she is
happy. Thank you to all the staff.

Reply from Julie McMurrough, Registered Manager Holywell House at Holywell House Care Centre

Many thanks. Activities are a massive part of our daily life here in Holywell House, and we strive everyday to bring something different to the home. We have regular residents meetings and resident's are encouraged to have their say on what they want. We also get involved in the Holywell Village community activities, winning the scarecrow trail, Christmas front door competition and a silver award in Holywell in Bloom for our memory garden. We have something for everyone and if we don't we will create it.

I came into Holywell at the end of October 24 until present time on respite care, I am very well looked after and the staff are very pleasant to everyone and helpful. the run up to Christmas was full of fun, laughter and entertainment with everyone from residents to staff having. Lots of fun. Meals
are varied and substantial.

My Mum is a resident in the home, after staying in a few different respite stays in different homes with mixed quality of care.
Having already cared for my mum at home I understand some of the challenges and stress faced in caring for people with dementia. The staff at Cramlington House do a great
job, always polite and professional in what must be a challenging and emotionally demanding job.
The communication is good and it's consistent with regular staff who are invested in the care of the residents some of whom have no other supporting family and friends apart from the staff who care for them.
The room is nice and well-kept and maintained and they run good social events and outings. My only critique is around the washing system as socks and underpants just seem to disappear and not return and it's not easy to label these items. The staff make the place what it is and I do hope the owners of the company invest in them and reward them for going that extra mile.

My mam has been resident here for nearly 2 years, it was an extremely difficult time for me when she came into care.
I felt so guilty and worried about her, but the team at Cramlington House have been amazing, they have also supported me.
Mam's health has had its ups and downs in the last 2 years,
the team have helped her to adjust to the changes. They always have the residents best interests in mind.
I feel I can sleep at night knowing mam is safe and well looked after.

All of West farm staff are so good. They care about my mother. They are approachable and listen if you have any concerns. On entering West Farm the whole place is buzzing, everyone is happy and chatty.
Residents are so well looked after and nothing is a bother. Everywhere is clean, and my mother's
room is lovely. She feels at home at West Farm. I cannot praise West Farm enough.

My mum (almost 98) who has dementia and profoundly deaf had to go into a home and I am so glad I chose Cramlington House. All the staff from day one were amazing and so friendly. She is surrounded by caring people who look after her and they support me too. She is happy in her own little world and is
treated with dignity. What more could I want for my dear mum.

My grandma has been in this home nearly three years and the staff are amazing! Always meeting her needs and caring for everyone around them.
They often host events for the residents to participate in such as movie nights - singers and bingo. Would highly recommend.

Excellent service. Mum has been very well cared for. We were reluctant at first to send her to a care home but we have been really reassured by the care she has been provided with. We made a good choice.

From the moment we first visited Cramlington House, my sister and I both knew this was the place we would like to entrust with the care of our mum. The facility is first class, welcoming, well appointed, clean, well organized and most importantly the residents and staff are happy and settled.
It was
however not until sometime after mum moved into Cramlington House did we realise that it is so much more than this. It is the love and care that the staff show to the residents, in our case not just our mum but also our dad who visits mum several times in the week, that makes it what it is to us; truly a home for our mum and an extension to our family.
We both know that this does not happen by accident but by hard work. The management and senior staff really know their stuff and have always been extremely supportive, especially when we have had to navigate some difficult times with our mum. We can not recommend Cramlington House more highly - well done to you all.

My mum has been a resident at Cramlington House for 3 years. She is settled, happy and loves the staff. She has Alzheimer's and now receives care in all aspects of living, feeding etc.
I find the staff to be very approachable and are always willing to help or talk if I need it. They provide family
support groups where we can meet and chat with other residents families.
Mum enjoys the meals which are provided and is given the support, when needed, to ensure she is eating.
Overall, I am very grateful for the excellent care my mum receives.

My Dad came into Holywell's care on the 20th of November 2022 as an emergency respite.
Over the next two years he has resided in Holwell I have witnessed every one of the staff take my dad into what I believe to be the "Holywell Family" and show him kindness and compassion as well as making him laugh
and as they said to me once he seems to be improving, which is testament to your care.
Sadly, as we all know the condition, he had eventually took its toll and he died peacefully in his sleep. I and my Mam were there before he passed and the hours prior, I saw staff come and say their goodbyes which was really touching and witnessed some special caring and compassionate work by all, you made sure my dad was comfortable and settled in his last hours and looked after me and my Mam exceptionally well. I cannot thank you enough from myself my Mam and the rest of the family for making my dad's last days something I will always treasure and be grateful for thank you.

Our residents, their families and friends are so important to us. Everyone who comes into our care, whether it be for 24 hrs or the rest of the time they have left, becomes a part of the heart and soul of Holywell House and this shows in the love and compassionate care we all provide here. Every member of staff is invested in the care of our residents and relatives and it shows. Many thanks.

An excellent home with fantastic staff who treat residents with kindness, dignity and compassion. All the staff, including cleaners, kitchen staff, and an enthusiastic activities co-ordinator, are friendly, supportive and caring which means so much to me.
The manager is approachable, responsive, very
caring and she and her staff go out of their way to provide a high standard of care. If there has been any concerns about my husband's care they have been dealt with promptly and efficiently and all staff adapt as required to suit individual needs and abilities.
It was a very difficult and worrying time for our family when my husband couldn't live at home any longer but we are all happy with the care he is receiving and most importantly he seems happy.
The home has just received a Gold Standards Framework Quality Hallmark Award for end-of-life care and is shortlisted in the Caring UK Awards for Care Home of the North so that says it all really!

Thank you for your lovely review. As you can imagine, your review makes me a very proud care home manager. Holywell is going from strength to strength. We strive to make everyone feel at home in Holywell House, we may not be fancy by other care home standards, but the care on every level is that of kindness, compassion and love. We have a strong team and pride ourselves on our can-do ethos and the supportive care we all give in our individual roles. We couldn't do any of what we do without the support of our relatives and friends and the local community, and you are all appreciated and a part of the Holywell Family.

The management and staff of West Farm Care Centre are absolutely brilliant, nothing is a problem to them, since my brother has been a resident there I've never seen him look so happy which is the most important thing, my family and I can sleep at night knowing my brother is being well cared for. The
rooms and the rest of the building are kept clean to a very high standard and the care given to the residents is second to none. There's plenty of activities to do during the day to keep everyone happy, there's always members of staff around to assist the residents and for safety reasons. The chef and the kitchen staff do an excellent job on the catering because the meals look absolutely beautiful with a good menu to choose from, definitely a 5-star care home.

Fabulous residential care for my ageing mother, although she'd be happier in her own home. The staff across the board devoted themselves to delivering all my mum's needs, as well as the occasional care you'd expect from her family members. Could not be more grateful and assured that Mum is in a loving
environment. Thanks to everyone employed by this residential service.

Can't praise the staff enough!
They are genuinely friendly, professional and caring.
The place is kept spotlessly clean and no unpleasant odours.
The residents appear to be content and happy and the food /menu is well received.
When you have an enquiry about anything, they go above and beyond to
help and communication is excellent.

I am very pleased that my wife is being well looked after in West Farm. Because of her falls when she tries to stand/move around - caused by her long-term Parkinson's Disease - 24 years - it is difficult to care for her as she can't be left on her own - as I know only too well. Like all care homes West
Farm sometimes suffers from staff shortages, for all of the well-known reasons - but all of the staff are 'proper' carers and do the best they can for the residents. I try to take my wife out most days and now I am older the staff always help me to get my wife and her wheelchair in and out of the car. Communication with the home is excellent. The phone in reception is almost always answered immediately and I am always made aware of anything happening with my wife that I need to know about.

My mother has been at West Farm for 6 weeks now and has thrived. The staff are kind welcoming caring and respectful. My mother is visually impaired but the staff have been wonderful in trying to include her in activities, they have helped her at meal times, and been very considerate & understanding
of her disabilities.
I can honestly say my mam is so much better since moving in as she has peace of mind knowing that someone is there 24 hours a day, and so have I knowing she is well taken care of. So glad she is at West Farm.
