My mam went into Springfield Lodge in June last year, she was very hesitant to go into care after looking after herself at home. She was welcomed with open arms by the staff who made to feel at home. Staff are lovely and very caring. Mam loved the food especially the puddings. Mam wasn't in the best
of health while she was At Springfield but the done everything they could for her. Mam sadly passed in January, the care and love they showed to us as a family after her passing was amazing, I couldn't thank them enough. The staff and management are amazing!

Throughout my mum's short stay at Castleview I was very happy with every aspect, from the initial information provided and arrival process, the care that was given in difficult circumstances and the way both she and family members were cared for as her life ended.
We were fully consulted at each stage
and clear and timely information given. Our experience was in the dementia ward, where those with different stages and aspects of the disease were treated with kindness and good humour.

Reply from Gretel Dixon, Marketing and Community Engagement Manager at Castleview Care Home

Thank you for sharing your experience at Castleview during your mum's stay. We would like to offer our sincere condolences to you and your loved ones, and we are truly grateful that you've taken the time to send us such kind words. Ensuring compassionate care for both our residents and their families is at the heart of what we do, so we're very pleased you felt supported at every stage and that you found our dementia ward to be a place of kindness and good humour. We deeply appreciate your trust in us during this time and will share your thoughtful feedback with our team.

I have to express my thanks to all staff. My mam after 86 years had a fall, went into hospital then unfortunately had to go into care, which was a really difficult time. The staff and that is everyone have been so understanding making sure her care was put into place, always with a smile and excellent
encouragement as my mother has lost her nerve walking after the fall. The staff have gone out of their way to support me as well. Giving a phone call and a update at all time on many occasions. Nothing has been a problem to solve, again I feel my mam is in safe hands. Thanks a million.

Couldn't fault the staff and manager, mum spent her last 8 months at Castleview Care Home with quite advanced Alzheimer's. Many of the staff went above and beyond to help to get her to eat when she first went in, and after she settled she responded well to the staff, some of whom she had a lovely bond
with. They do really care about the residents and treat them with respect, they would also try to accommodate anything we asked for if it was possible. They were very caring and respectful when she finally passed away.
The only negative thing we could say was that from time to time they were short staffed which inevitably has an impact, but isn't really a fault of the home, maybe just a sign of the times.

Dad moved into Langley House Residential Care Home in Horden in November 2025. Sadly, he had a fall a few days after being there but the staff were quick to call an ambulance and dad was taken good care of until it arrived. After his operation, he went back to Langley House. The staff are absolutely
lovely.
They're so kind, patient and helpful and take such good care of the residents. Although he has only been there a short time, they have helped make him feel very welcome. The food is great and plentiful. There was something going on to entertain the residents every day in the run up to Christmas. Some of the local children came in to sing carols, there was a nativity play and an Elvis tribute to name but a few things. It's so nice to see the smiles in so many faces. Let's hope it continues.

My sister moved into St Annes in March 2023. This was arranged over a weekend and has proven to be a good decision. Located on the lovely frontage of Whitley Bay my sisters room looks onto the promenade. Easy access to fresh air and connection with the community.
A warm welcome and lots of smiles are
offered by staff at all times which generates a caring and sensitive and friendly approach to the elderly through all levels of the organization.
Cleanliness of the fabric is clean and tidy and to a reasonable standard with improvements managed on a rolling programme. Individual residents rooms are cleaned regularly and although of modest standards access to shower/bath facilities are available. Lift provision could be improved. Lounges offer choices to residents for social activities or to simply relax and chat.
A variety of activities is on offer to all able residents and the Christmas celebrations is well attended. Live entertainment is part of the fun. My sister is content.

We sought a respite place for mother that would meet her needs. We were delighted from the outset at the quality of care in all it's diverse dimensions. Staff were always very good humored in dealing with the various demands of our mother. Feedback and information for family was first class and reassuring.
We were concerned about medication and health but knew we were leaving mum in very good hands. We would recommend this home to anybody and would not hesitate to return mum to their care in the future.

Mum settled in quickly and I am impressed with how safe St Annes Care Home feels and how welcome we are made as visitors. Mum clearly likes the food and the coastal location means we can make the most of even short walks outside. She has been there for more than a year now and it is great to see the
same staff over and over again, so helpful, friendly and caring and anything we point out gets sorted out.
