Very friendly staff, maybe a bit better communication when passing on information from family. Rooms could do with a bit more frequent cleaning, as a family member on visiting our mam have noticed very little crockery and utensils for visitors to make a drink but overall, mam is very happy and content
and the staff treat her with love and respect.

Reply from Cassie Schofield, Head Office Admin at Park View

Thank you for your feedback and we are so happy your mum is settled and well cared for at Park View. Thank you for the lovely comments about the staff team and we will ensure this is shared. We are always working to improve communication and take your feedback onboard and we are always replenishing crockery and cutlery but will ensure that stock levels are checked more frequently to prevent this from happening again.

My auntie has lived in Washington Manor since January 2024. We visit regularly and are always made to feel welcome. The home has a warm and homely feeling to it. The staff are excellent and friendly. They treat my auntie with the dignity and respect she deserves. We are able to enjoy lunch with her
whenever we like, the food is lovely and has a real home-cooked feel to it. Would definitely recommend Washington Manor!

Washington Manor, avoid! I'm disgusted. I've complained to the care home, Adult Social Services, and Care Quality Commission. Concerns included poor infection control procedures. I saw a staff member pour water into the same beaker used to give medicine to everyone in my dad's corridor. My wife saw
this the week before, but I said no home would put residents' health at risk. I was wrong. They admit this is not in line with IPC standards.
No records exist for applying dad's cream after 1st May. I raised concerns about personal hygiene. Records show dad was showered 3 times in February, two times in March, and none in April! His clothes were frequently dirty and unchanged for days including socks and underwear. I was disgusted they claimed my complaint was motivated by money when I was told my dad would have to pay for another four weeks as I removed him with 1 days' notice. This makes no sense as I was offered a fee free month if I kept him there. He now looks cleaner, healthier, and stimulated in his new care home.

Reply from Keith Milton, CEO at Washington Manor

We are a proactive and responsive provider and addressed concerns raised immediately and appropriate action was taken. This was communicated to you by the manager. The records show that support was provided every day with washing and dressing and often the resident would dress independently which is so important to maintain and encourage positive mental health and well-being. The records also show an individual who was enabled and supported to maintain a good diet, encouraged to maintain independent living skills and participate in activities that had meaning and interest to him. We apologised for the error with the beaker and that the records did not always reflect our standards. We refute claims that a free month was offered as this is not our policy. A contract was signed that clearly stated 4 weeks' notice to be given by either party but as you have been informed we will not be chasing this debt. We wish your father well for the future and are happy he has settled in his new home.

Yet again I have visited my father to find him in a state of neglect. He was dirty, his nails are filthy and far too long, he did not have his false teeth in but he was expected to manage to eat his lunch. His lunch was not cut up, no specialist cutlery was provided and no one was helping him to eat.
A young lady went and got his dentures from his room.
He cannot manage to feed himself if the food is not cut up, the tray table is set at over 8 inches higher than he can reach when in his chair. He can only use one hand and he stops eating, not because he is no longer hungry but because he is fed up trying to get the food on his fork and into his mouth. We provided specialist cutlery for him to use but that has disappeared. This is not care it is neglect. No one should be left in this state, he is skin and bones and that is because he is malnourished. He says he wants a haircut and his beard and moustache cut but he does not have the capability to go and put his name on the list.

Reply from Cassie Schofield, Head Office Admin at Washington Manor

We're truly sorry if you feel that the care we are providing your father does not meet your expectations. We are in regular contact with his next of kin who has not expressed any concerns about your father's care but we are always open to discussion and thank you for your feedback. We always advise family members to speak with the onsite management team immediately if there is anything they are concerned about or feel does not reflect our high standards. Management are available Monday to Friday and we operate an on-call system for out of hours so are contactable 24/7, as are the senior management team via our website or head office. You should never leave the building feeling anxious about the care of your loved one and we would welcome discussing your concerns further if you wish to contact us to put your mind at rest.

I'm happy that my mum is at Park View and feel confident that she is as safe, well cared for and as happy as she can be. The daytime staff are wonderful - they're caring and kind and not only with the residents but also with families and friends. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend PV.

We found Washington Manor as Mum started to deteriorate with her illness. The staff have been extremely supportive throughout and make Mum comfortable and safe on a day-to-day basis. I love the open nature of the home, allowing visits at any time and seeing first-hand daily activities and round-the-clock
care.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. They go above to provide quality care, we are very grateful. I love the updates about what the residents are getting up to. We love the family events and I feel like my dad receives the best care. He is well fed and the quality of food is amazing. The home is clean,

The focus of all of the staff is the residents. The care and attention given to my mum is excellent and gives me a reassurance that she's being well looked after. She has told me that she feels secure and her needs are being well catered for. She receives constant reassurance and encouragement as she
is frail and nervous. The staff do go the extra mile to ensure she feels safe at all times. Food quality is excellent too.
The atmosphere in the home is always warm and welcoming.

Each visit we are made welcome and we are always asked if we would like a cup of tea which is also nice. The care, effort, time, and love each carer shows to each resident is absolutely lovely to see each time we visit. Grandma also has lush little bonds with the carers which is also heartwarming. We
couldn't thank the staff and carers enough who go above and beyond for not only our grandma but every other resident too. Thank you for having huge hearts and loving our grandma the way you all do, it never goes unnoticed. Grandma is so happy and always clean and dressed beautifully, and always smiling which makes us happy. To each of the carers and staff at Park View "thank you so very much for everything."
