Review of

Hengoed Court Care Home

from Emma M (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I looked at many nursing homes before deciding Hengoed Court was the best fit. Mum was discharged for palliative care from Morriston Hospital and was sadly only in Hengoed Court for 3 weeks before she passed. However, I am so pleased this is where she spent her final weeks. Of course, the facilities
and environment are stunning, but it was the care she (and we, family members) received, that was exemplary. Mum was dressed and taken into the lounge, and hairdressers etc. despite being unable to walk or communicate clearly. Many homes would just have left her in bed, but she was well looked after and staff (all levels) are genuinely caring. They were really compassionate when Mum was at the end of her life. This made the most difficult time, easier. I just wish she had been there longer.

Hengoed Park Care Home

Mum has been here for a year now with Dementia and today was the best I’ve seen her in years. She was smiling, had been singing and said she was actually very happy living there and did not want to go home.
She has had falls, but no different to when she was at home, but here someone is on hand to
manage it. The food is very basic and traditional ‘British’ meat and two veg but, I guess it suits older people. The care staff are fabulous.

My mother has been a resident for 2 years. The staff are extremely welcoming and do their utmost best to make it a homely place. There are plenty of activities and the grounds are amazing with various animals, which my mother likes to visit daily.

Hengoed Park Care Home

My Mother opted to go to Hengoed Park in April of this year. My wife and I live in Canada and were worried about my Mum being on her own. The care she receives here is second to none. She loves it there and is so much happier than she has been for the past 3 years. The staff are amazing and every service
is first class. We now have peace of mind that Mam is being cared for in all aspects of her life.
