Saltgreens

from Rachael C (Daughter of Resident) published on 7 March 2025

We have been overwhelmed by the care, support and love mum was shown by the staff at Saltgreens. They showed her respect and gave her dignity even when she was unable to do anything for herself, right up to her death last month. We know she was happy and settled because much of her confusion and subsided
and the fact that they took her out in her wheelchair to see the sea every day was just brilliant. The rickshaw rides around the village were the highlight of her week!
The fact that, as family, we could come and go as we pleased and make cups of tea in the little kitchen for ourselves was just great. Then when they catered for all eight of us on Christmas Day, setting us up in her cottage and giving us the space to do our family Christmas together, we were just so thankful. We cannot recommend Saltgreens highly enough.

Saltgreens

Due to my wife, who is my full-time carer, having an operation, I was required to enter a respite home until my wife recovered.
Going back 10 years, give or take, after my wife again had surgery, I had a week's stay at Saltgreens with very happy memories.
I requested if it was possible to again spend
my time at Saltgreen which was arranged.
I need not have worried as soon as walked through the door I could feel the love.
My stay was stress-free as the staff were amazing, from management to the cleaners and I would wholeheartedly recommend Saltgreens as a place to entrust your loved ones.

St Ronan's House

from Frank L (Respite Resident) published on 26 July 2024

I enjoyed a week respite care at St Ronan's Care Home, in Innerleithen. The home is tastefully decorated and meticulously cleaned. It could not have been manned by a more friendly, willing group of carers. Nothing was too much bother to them, they ensured they were there for every eventuality, really
first-class caring.
If there was one area that disappointed that would be the food! Not always a full menu on offer. I understand they are in the middle of interviewing for a cook at present. Nonetheless, I would recommend St Ronan's to anyone interested in residential care.

A warm welcome by all for my dad (82) for his respite 3-night stay. Very impressed with the whole environment, lots of optional activities and lovely garden and outdoor seating areas. Nothing too much trouble and fantastic home-cooked food with great options. I was very impressed with all aspects of
care, signage, cleanliness and warmth of the whole team.

Garden View

My wife stayed with you for about eleven weeks during the spring of 2022.
I can only give praise for the high standard of care she received from all of your staff.
What we both enjoyed as much as anything is the very high standard of communal care she received, she was encouraged to join in with the
other residents and we made many friends sitting in the conservatory or out in the garden. We were both very sad to leave Garden View when a room became available in a local nursing home.

Garden View

Now known as Garden View these guys looked after my dad in his last two weeks and they were fantastic. Even though his needs were extensive and during Covid, they went to see him every half an hour and looked after him like their own. I had initial concerns as this home previously had not a good history
but it has really been turned around. I miss him greatly but these guys have been so kind. Some mix-ups at the start but wasn't their fault. A stressful time but do believe if you need this route, work with them, and it goes great. Love and prayers to them.

Garden View

I would just like to give a big, big thank you to all the staff at Garden View. Thank you all so much for looking after and helping my husband who I love so dearly and I miss so much. We have never been apart in 19 years, until now. We have been together 24/7 and this will be our first Christmas and
New Year apart. My heart is breaking as I am sending this review. I am trying not to cry but my tears are rolling down my face anyway. The staff at Garden View are so, so nice. You are all very caring and helpful and I thank you all for everything that you are doing. Not just for my husband, but for everyone in Garden View. My husband is a veteran and has fought for his country and I am very, very proud of him. If you read this honey, I love you. Remember, be brave and keep your chin up. As Glenn Frey would say, "Take It Easy". Merry Christmas baby. I love you. And Merry Christmas to Garden View.

Review of

Deanfield

from Jac C (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 29 October 2015
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My gran was accepted to Deanfield as the onset of her Alzheimer's made caring for her at home difficult. She had attended day care for 2 years before she became a resident and stayed there for 3 years. 5 years in total. The level of care and attention received was outstanding. When she passed my family
and I stayed there for 3 days and were able to experience and see first hand how excellent the team were. Not only towards the residents themselves but to my family as we went through an extremely difficult time.
I have an immense amount of respect for each and every member of the care team. There was a feeling of closeness from the team towards the residents which gave the environment more of a family feeling.
My family and I cant thank them enough for everything they have done for my gran over the past 5 years and I highly recommend Deanfield to anyone looking for this type of care.
