Overall pleased with the care in the home. Because there have been no events organised during January, I feel the residents are not getting enough stimulation - this should hopefully change as a new events organiser has just started!

Reply from Cameron, Bayview Care Home rep at Bayview Care Home

Thank you for your feedback. We're really pleased to hear that you're happy with the care at Bayview! We completely understand how important activities and social events are for keeping residents engaged and stimulated. January can sometimes be a quieter period due to all the excitement over Xmas and New Year, a time for relaxation and reflection. But to that point, we're excited to have our new activities coordinator on board, and there are lots of great activities planned for the coming weeks and months. We truly appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing our residents enjoy a variety of engaging experiences soon.

We wouldn't hesitate to say that our mum was so happy during her 4 and half years living in St Modans.
Genuinely caring and friendly staff on the floor, always welcoming and helpful. Senior staff are always visible and approachable, always willing to listen and respond to any questions or queries.
As
our mum's life was drawing to a close the care, kindness and love shown to our mum was exceptional, a very peaceful passing with tremendous support for us too as a family.

St Modans Care Home

from N D (Wife of Resident) published on 22 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My husband is a resident of St Modan's suffering from early onset mixed dementia. St Modan's rooms and communal areas are immaculate and the food is excellent. I am always encouraged to eat meals with my husband to sustain social interactions. My husband is extremely well looked after, being supported
with personal care on a daily basis with clothes regularly laundered.
The staff have developed a very positive relationship with my husband and they encourage him to socialise and take part in the varied activities provided. This is especially important to me as I work full time and it's very comforting to know he is so well looked after both socially and medically.
I would also like to commend St Modan's social media page. Our daughters stay abroad and it's great for them to see their dad having fun and being happy.
All staff have been so welcoming and supportive and we cannot thank them enough for the care shown.

Reply from Pamela Geddes, Deputy Manager at St Modans Care Home

Thank you so much for your kind words and positive heartfelt review. We appreciate the feedback and I will ensure that this is passed on to the team. It is also great to hear positive feedback on the social media page and that your daughters can enjoy seeing their dad from abroad. Thank you once again for sharing your thoughts. Kind regards.

Crimond House has been a wonderful place for my mum to stay. Mum says she feels safe, she says the staff are brilliant and the food is good.
Mum is always clean and happy when we visit.
The accommodation is warm and clean. Mum's washing gets collected in the morning and is back ready to go I her
wardrobe by lunch time usually.

Review of

Grove Care Home

from J C (Wife of Resident) published on 11 December 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5

My husband arrived after being in hospital. Certain drugs that he was given in hospital were not prescribed at the care home so he was very confused, unsettled and became aggressive. This was our first experience of a care home. We all realised (ourselves and care staff) that they could not cope with
his condition of Lewy Body Dementia. He was asked to find somewhere else. Some of the carers were good and did genuinely appear to care; however I certainly felt that most staff never really properly supported either of us. I felt we were being talked about behind our backs and there was no real caring support. I was willing to support my husband and his carers. His care notes did not depict what was happening. The staff did little to encourage my husband to walk despite the fact that I managed to get the council physio to visit him regularly. My husband moved to another care home and is now home. On his first day at the new care home he had a shower which was never given at The Grove after a 6 week stay.

Reply from Cameron, Grove Care Home Representative at Grove Care Home

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are committed to providing compassionate, individualised care and welcome the opportunity to address concerns while respecting the confidentiality and dignity of our residents. Any adjustments to hospital prescriptions are made under medical guidance to prioritise our residents' well-being. Our team collaborates closely with GPs and specialists to provide tailored care, particularly for complex conditions like Lewy Body Dementia, which we are highly experienced in managing. We prioritise personal care and mobility support, ensuring these are documented and aligned with professional advice for safety. It is disappointing to hear you felt unsupported, as clear and respectful communication with families is central to our approach here at Grove. We aim to create a safe and compassionate environment. While transitions to care homes can be challenging, our team is trained and dedicated to meeting our residents' needs.

My husband is in St Modans Care Home in nursing. He is well looked after he has vascular dementia. I have found the home so very kind to myself as well. I spend every afternoon with my husband and stay for supper. I help with his care at times e.g. toileting, not all the time though only when necessary.
I would recommend the home and care to anyone who asks.

My dad has now been in the home for 3 years. He has excellent care by all the staff at St Modans. He is well looked after, always clean and well cared for in every way. The meals they get are excellent and there is an abundance of food. St Modans doesn't just care for my dad but they have been so good

Really pleased with the care my mam gets at Kynaird House. The staff are excellent, very caring and you can ask them anything. No matter when I go in my mam is always Bonnie dressed and clean. The home itself is very clean as well. You are always made welcome when you go in and that includes all the
staff at the home. It is a massive burden lifted from me knowing my mam is safe and well looked after. They put on different things through the year that the families can go to and they are really good Would just like to thank everybody at Kynaird for the excellent care my mam is getting since she went into the home in March.
