Meldrum Gardens

My husband and I are writing this review to say that the care the home gave his father was exceptional. He was in Meldrum Gardens for 10 years and just passed away on January 22, 2024. Not only were they amazing to my FIL but they let my husband sleep in the room with him for a week and treated him
with care and respect when he flew in to be with Dad from America. Then the funeral cars drove by the home and so many of them were standing there to pay respects. Some of them even came to the services. We can’t say enough about this amazing home!

Reply from Susanne Mason, Care Home Manager at Meldrum Gardens

Thank you so much for your kind words, I will pass this onto all the staff group.

I came to visit my Mum For a few days To find that my Mum is well looked after They did over and above to care for not just my Mum also for other residents.
My sister and I were made feel very welcome they did over and above all around. I would rate Mckillop Gardens.
150% out of 100%.
Very pleased
that I have peace of mind to know Mum and other residents are well looked after.
Thank you all very much for all of your care.
God bless you all.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It is a pleasure to support your Mum and all of the wider family. We understand and appreciate how important and valuable it is to both Service Users and families to support meaningful relationships and contacts. Thanks again.

I can’t thank you enough for looking after my mum. She was transferred from hospital until her care package was ready. She stayed for two weeks with you and was so well cared for. Once again thank you so much

Reply from Valerie Miller, Unit Manager at McKillop Gardens

It was an honour to support your Mum in the intermediate care unit and we send her our best wishes now that she is home.

To all staff at McKillop Gardens, I just want to put on record the absolutely amazing way you have all handled the Coronavirus outbreak. At the start of the outbreak, I feared the worst, knowing if this virus spread into care homes how grave the situation could be. This has indeed been the case in several
homes. However, from the very start, McKillop Gardens has dealt with this issue in the most professional and caring way. It is a credit to every single person employed there that things are going so well. Although staff are busy with their never-ending daily routines, they have still managed time to keep me up to date with my father's progress and have even found the time to let me speak to him on facetime. This has been great for me to be able to see him. I cannot thank the staff enough for all they have and continue to do, not just in the present situation but on a daily basis. Yours gratefully.

Mum loves it here, it really cheers her up and as a family, we feel supported. She is being assessed regularly and getting company, loves the driver who picks her up and drops her off, enjoys colouring in and getting her nails done with the staff and the trips out they have. Been attending for a while
now and we have always been very happy.

Meldrum Gardens is the best care home in East Kilbride. The staff are superb, the cleanliness the food just an amazing place with amazing people.
This is not a care home this is a home from home. My mother settled in very well and has been encouraged to live as independently as possible. It's great
to know my mum is receiving great care every day. There should be more places like Meldrum Gardens before mum went to stay in Meldrum Gardens we viewed many care homes in East Kilbride and I am afraid there was nothing suitable it had to be Meldrum.

My mother in law has been in Meldrum Gardens for 7 years my family and I cannot express our thanks to the home and caring staff.

Its like a home from home when we visit I can come and go make myself a cup of tea and sit with my mother in law who has Dementia

There is always some activities going

on.

My family and I don't have to worry about my mother in law as we know she is in a loving and caring environment with wonderful staff.
