In February this year, my husband required full time care, having a long term terminal illness and dementia. We assessed several care homes, and found Balmoral to be the best for us. We are very happy with the care and attention he receives from all of the staff.
The staff make everyone very welcome
and they know all the regular visitors by name. All are made to feel very welcome in Balmoral.
Due to his condition, my husband has had several hospital visits. He is always accompanied by a member of staff who stays with him and brings him back.
He has settled in well and enjoys the facilities and activities in Balmoral.

My mum has been a resident in 3 Bridges since July and has settled in very well and is very well looked after by all staff. Staff are always very friendly and knowledgeable about Mum's needs and she is always treated with dignity and respect.
Communication from staff regarding Mum has been excellent.
There is a very wide range of activities within the home and Mum enjoys participating in these activities.
While it was a very difficult decision to put Mum into a home she is very happy and we know she is receiving excellent care from a very caring, friendly, and professional team of staff.
I would highly recommend 3 Bridges to anyone looking for a care home.

My mother has been a resident at Three Bridges (Executive Suites and Victoria Suite) since 2014, and throughout the years we have been delighted with the attentiveness of both, staff and management regarding her care and happiness. She has always been treated with dignity and respect, and even with
great personal affection by many of the carers. The Home itself is welcoming for visitors as well as residents, is nicely decorated, clean, well-maintained, and offers a peaceful and comfortable environment, along with good facilities and stimulating activities and entertainment. Three Bridges has played a big part in my mother's happiness and well-being and we would highly recommend it.

After visiting other Care Homes we decided on the 3 Bridges. It is a very welcoming and friendly place that is well-suited to my father's needs. All the staff are attentive and caring. They have looked after my father's needs while still being very respectful. I have complete peace of mind and know
he is being well looked after. This has been a great move for my father.

The staff and management at Balmoral are amazing. My father was previously a resident in another Northcare Home and when it came time for my mother to also need care for Alzheimer's, it was wonderful that all our family were remembered by the owners, manager and many of the staff. The transition to
care was difficult for my mother to accept but her individual and challenging needs have been met with kindness, compassion, professionalism and endless patience over the last eight months. That care extends to family members too as we navigate our emotions at this time.
I receive regular updates and can talk to staff anytime I need. The facilities and activities are of a very high standard, with my mother gradually coming round to participation. It is incredibly reassuring that my mother is safe and well, thanks to every single member of staff in every role.

I continue to be delighted with the care my aunt is receiving at Balmoral Care Home. She is as happy as she can be - as a frail 90-year-old - and, more importantly, safe. I have always been impressed by the extent of communication between staff at the home and myself: I'm the Power of Attorney. And
the hospitality staff are just brilliant: it's lovely to be offered a glass of wine when I'm visiting!

It was with a heavy heart that I found myself in the position of finding a care home for a very dear, elderly friend, who has no family.
My spirits were lifted when I entered Balmoral.
The airy atmosphere throughout, and the beautifully appointed interior made me feel less anxious.
On a comprehensive
tour, I was able to see the amazing facilities. Meeting the staff, further confirmed my confidence in the high standard of care.
I felt an abundance of kindness flowing from every member of staff.
My friend has now been a resident at Balmoral for over one month and my expectations have become reality.
As a regular visitor now I am able to appreciate the excellent visiting facilities
The stunning brasserie coffee shop provides the perfect environment for visits.
I have also discovered the splendid range of activities. Recently there was a showing of a romance film in-house cinema which my friend loved.
I am so glad I found Balmoral.

Both of my parents have been in the Victoria Suite for three months now and I have nothing but positive things to say about it. The staff quickly developed an understanding of my parents' individual needs and responded to them with understanding and insight. When we visit, staff are warm, friendly and
welcoming and we feel totally comfortable during our visits. Communication from and with staff has been excellent and timely. I have also found their compassion and support so valuable during what for me has been a difficult decision around long-term residential care. I can recommend 3 Bridges without hesitation.

I am the nephew of one resident and the son-in-law of another resident and have also had an aunt and many family friends as residents in the Three Bridges Care Home.
I found that the standard of the home is excellent as is the food however, the standard of care provided by the incredible staff is exceptional.
They
are all very well trained, compassionate, understanding, friendly, and above all attentive to all of the resident's individual requirements and this helps family members to know that their loved ones are not only safe but are being exceptionally well looked after.
I cannot thank them enough for looking after our family members as well as they do.

At a very difficult time I had to identify somewhere for my relative to go after a lengthy hospital stay. On contacting the home the care manager arranged a visit. During the visit we were shown around and met with staff and other residents. We have all got to know each other over the past few months.
The staff on Braemar Suite are excellent they understand my relative's needs and I am reassured that she is being looked after to a very high standard. The senior staff are always available to talk through care plan and offer reassurance. The activities that are put on are varied and recently all residents and staff enjoyed a BBQ. All staff at Balmoral are professional and friendly from the minute you meet the receptionists to the housekeeping and catering staff they are all keen to support and make individuals stay as comfortable as possible.

Executive Suites at 3 Bridges

My Mum has been a resident in Executive Suites at 3 Bridges for almost 18 months and she settled into her new environment relatively quickly (quite a big step for a 90+ who had lived in the same place for the previous 55 years!). The care she receives is outstanding with a fantastic staff team throughout
who adapt very proactively to Mums gradually changing wants and needs. The accommodation is immaculate and comfortable throughout. With a cinema, in-house hair salon and private dining room for special occasions it's more like a 5-star hotel. You even get afternoon tea if you time it right. While not the cheapest option the peace of mind I achieved through making this choice (with my Mum's input) really justifies it. I could not have hoped for a better environment for my Mum to live in at this stage of her life.

from Brendan O (Son of Resident) published on 10 May 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother receives excellent care and I am confident that she is treated appropriate to her condition 24 hours a day.
When visiting her in Summer it is enjoyable to take her round the garden as there is much to see and do. In colder weather I can only be in her room with her. The communal tv room
is understandably out of bounds for visitors but the other lounges have nothing to offer. One is a bar area instead of the long-established cafe, the other two are plain lounge areas which are often locked or set up for functions. It would be better if there were welcoming areas for families with an abundance of resources appropriate to the elderly and patients suffering from dementia. I feel that the purpose and function of these spaces require reviewing and the requirements of the care patients should be at the centre of the discussion.
I am happy that my mother is in 3 Bridges and I congratulate and thank the staff on the excellent job they do.

My mother-in-law has been a resident for 8 months. The staff got to know her quickly and respond well to her needs. Her room is a good size with a nice view over the garden. There is a good range of other spaces she can use in addition to her own room. There has always seemed to be a good staffing ratio
and staff have always been very helpful when we have asked for anything. Staff keep us informed of what is happening like health-related issues.

Friendly and welcoming. Good standard of care given. There are often no chairs in the room when visiting and it is inappropriate to be sitting on the bed!
This is rectified when brought to the attention of staff but it happens often!

I am confident that my mother, who has dementia, is very well cared for and well-placed at 3 Bridges.
The staff are exceptionally caring, kind and responsive to my mother's needs.
They treat her and other residents with the utmost respect and dignity.
Appropriate medical support is quickly in place
if she needs it.
The unit staff are very good at keeping me up to date on any issues.
Entertainment seems to be regular and very appropriate.
I raised a few times concerns of cleanliness, and although resolved, it did take longer than seemed necessary.
The communal lounges are very inappropriate for residents' needs. Apart from Birthday gatherings etc, they are rarely used by residents. Wheelchair access is very difficult through the doors and around the large chair window - the blinds are awkward.
There is a lack of a forum to voice and share issues with other families, my mother doesn't have the capacity to speak for herself.

My wife has been a resident since October 2022, in the Executive Suites, 3 Bridges. The staff there are quite magnificent in terms of quality of care, dignity, patience, professionalism and friendliness. Any doubts I may have had, re entrusting them to my wife’s care, have been totally dispelled. If
there is a better establishment in the west of Scotland, I would like to know of it.

Mum had a serious chest infection in January. Nurse/carers told me about Hospital care at home as her oxygen levels were dangerously low and gave me the option of this service or for mum to go into hospital. Chose the hospital at home option and the care home staff and the hospital service were incredible
with their care for Mum who at nearly 102 years of age made a good recovery. I honestly believe if she had gone into hospital she may not have had the same outcome. The staff have been amazing.

Our experience at Three Bridges has been wholly positive. The care is kind and respectful and at the same time, professional. I can’t overstate the value of knowing that your dear relative is enjoying the best of care with a very human touch but underpinned by professionalism and ethics. Any minor issues
we have raised have been taken seriously and dealt with immediately which only strengthens your confidence in the safety of your relative. Although underappreciated societally, the staff do the most important job in the world - facilitating people’s dignity in their declining years. Can’t speak highly enough of the staff and they are supported by good facilities and management. It would be wonderful if there were more of them but financial realities prevail for us all and they deliver an incredible level of care whilst working incredibly hard.
