Review of

Brookfield

from John S (Relative of Resident) published on 20 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

When a loved one is no longer able to live at home and it's apparent they need to live in a dedicated caring environment where their health and well-being is prioritised, it's an extraordinarily difficult decision for all involved. Fortunately, we were introduced to the team at Brookfield who have looked
after and continue to care for our much loved Mum (and Gran) treating her with dignity, respect, love and compassion. The staff work tirelessly to meet Mum's needs - which can at times be quite challenging - responding to every request as and when required. After years of living alone, worrying about her safety and well-being, it's such a relief to know she is safe, secure & being so well cared for. We would like to thank the entire team at Brookfield. Words alone cannot express our gratitude.

Reply from Melanie Brockway, Brand & Communications Manager at Brookfield

What a wonderful review. It's so heartening to hear how the dedicated team at Brookfield are not only giving the great care and service, with dignity, respect and love we expect but that moving into the home has taken your difficult decision to a point of peace of mind for your dear Mum's safety and wellbeing. This is exactly what we strive for in all our homes. It means the world to read how we are making the difference in the lives of our residents and their families. Thank you again for taking the time to write your review. We will be sure to pass on your words to our hardworking team.

The Glens Care Home

from Maureen C (Friend of Resident) published on 18 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My husband and I have had the most wonderful afternoon while visiting a friend with dementia. There was a gentleman there who played a keyboard and sang songs that the residents recognised and sang along to. The staff are just so brilliant had them all clapping and waving their arms then some of the
more able were up dancing. The staff are so much fun and very affectionate to each of them. Each time we visit we are given a cup of tea and biscuits. I have to say we were very impressed at how well each resident was dressed and hair done nicely. I would not hesitate to give the care home a first class review.

Reply from David Kerr, Communications Team at The Glens Care Home

Thank you kindly for this first class review! It's great to hear you're having these lovely visits with your friend and that you've felt such genuine warmth and wraparound care in The Glens. The team will be delighted with your feedback.

My Mum has been here almost a year now. She settled in straight away and the staff are amazing. They are all very friendly and always have a smile for everyone and make me feel very welcome when I visit.
I get regular updates on my mum's health and they inform me straight away if there's been a health
problem with Mum and I can phone and talk to staff or my Mum at any time.
Mum enjoys the food and regular outings in her wheelchair. There's a garden to sit out in when the weather's nice and lots of indoor activities on a regular basis. The rooms are lovely and the other residents all seem happy and content. I have visited a lot of care homes over the years and this has to be the best one by far.

St Ronans Care Home

from Jacqueline C (Niece of Resident) published on 10 December 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Since my Uncle has been a resident in St Ronans we both have been very impressed. There is a genuine feeling of care and attention delivered to both myself and my uncle. They see to all of his needs as well as promote the limited independence he has left. He enjoys the food and the numerous events he
attended in and out of the home. He has been encouraged to personalise his room with furniture etc. from his house. He enjoys company and has plenty of interactions throughout the day. He says he loves it here.

Lisden Care Home

from Eve B (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 November 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Our mum moved to Lisden in June 2024 because of her deteriorating dementia. From day 1 the staff have made such a difference. She went from being a restless yet exhausted lady who wanted to walk up to 9 miles a day to be so much more settled in herself, and as a result, is now able to eat well and engage
with activities she couldn't focus on before and to rest bringing her quality to her life living with dementia. Mum is now so content and smiling on every visit bringing much relief and peace to us and this is a credit to all the staff at Lisden involved in Mum's care!
We have been so grateful to the staff who have taken the time to update us on how Mum is getting on. If ever we have been worried about anything as Mum's condition changes this has always been listened to and a plan made together to help. All the staff are kind and caring and Lisden is always clean, warm and has a homely feel whilst being practical for people navigating their way with dementia. Thank you so much!

Happy with the care my mother recieves at Lisden. can't thank the senior nurse on duty enough, the night my mother's health rapidly deteriorated due to a chest infection, the senior nurse drove to Dundee for the antibiotics. All the staff have been great with my mum as she can be stubborn and didn't want to come out of her room but they have been great at persuading her to come down to the lounge etc. She has put on weight which is fab as she was very under when she went in, so thank you to the chef as well for accommodating
her fussy eating. Keep up all your good work, it's really appreciated.

My husband has been a resident for 3 years and we are extremely happy with his care and social activities. In the last 2 months, he has needed a huge amount extra of personal care and all the St Ronans staff have gone above and beyond. They have kept him as safe as possible and are trying their very

At first, I had reservations about putting Mum into a home but the staff and management at St. Ronans have been amazing. I have seen a big difference in Mum as she is much calmer and is enjoying all the activities offered to her. We know she is safe and well looked after, which gives us peace of mind.
The interiors and location of St. Ronans are beautiful and Mum loves being out in the garden looking at the Tay and bridges. The home manager and her team are everything I could have asked for. I have no concerns leaving at the end of my visit.

Moyness Care Home

from Stephen B (Brother of Resident) published on 16 September 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My brother resided at Moyness in August this year. We was only there for a month before he passed away. All the staff at Moyness were so friendly and compassionate. My brother had learning difficulties and we were concerned about how he would settle in his new surroundings but he settled really well
and engaged with the staff. Unfortunately because of his learning difficulties, he was not able to participate in any of the wonderful activities that the home puts on. They have a lovely garden area where residents can sit out as well. We could not have picked a better home for my brother. We are so pleased and thankful to all the staff at Moyness for the care and attention they gave my brother over the short period he was there for.

Lisden Care Home

from Laurence C (Son of Resident) published on 6 September 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother moved to Lisden Care Home in September 2022 with dementia. She arrived a very confused, distressed and agitated lady. Despite still having the illness, within a relatively short period of time the happy smiling person re-emerged. This occurred due to the efforts, love, care and compassionate
attention afforded to my Mother by all of the staff without exception. Mother enjoyed all of the activities provided. The establishment itself has such a homely atmosphere. The rooms are of a high standard and attention is paid to individual food requirements. As my Mother's illness progressed I was always informed of any changes or issues of concern. On visits to the home I was always made to feel very welcome. There was always someone around to have an informal chat about Mother. Mother recently passed away and her passing was handled in such a respectful and dignified manner. The staff were also so sympathetic and supportive to myself. Heartfelt thanks to Lisden and all their staff.

Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

Mum has only been a resident for a month and still needs time to adjust. Her family love her surroundings, and a beautiful, clean building. I have noted, however, the meals are always cold upon being given out. If Mum is in her room, by the time it gets to her room, it's cold. Never had a hot meal yet,
and this is imperative to Mum's well-being and eating. She won't eat cold food. I have left out a few ratings, and I have no comment to make on activities as yet/ Mum has been reluctant to join in being so frial.

Thank you for taking the time to write a considered review for us. It's very important to us to have clear feedback, so we know where we are making a difference and where there is still a need for improvement. We're glad that the family are happy with the surroundings and the clean building. But very sorry to hear of the issue you have found with hot meals. We will refer this back to the home to investigate and address. Thank you, once again.

Went to visit a good friend today who had not been too well since last Sunday, I called in the morning for an update as to whether she was able for visitors which she was. This was my 3rd visit to this facility and yet again I'm bowled over with the staff and facilities at this care home. The friendliness
of the staff is wonderful and very reassuring for people with family residing there, their interaction with the clients is second to none. This is a place I would happily want to live if and when it may become necessary.

Monkbarns Care Home

from Theresa W (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 June 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

This is an amazing place. My dad stays here. We are so positive about this home, because that is what it is, a home. My dad is not the most sociable person, but he loves to read. When there is an event on, he is always invited, but if he doesn't feel like it, he happily sits and reads or sleeps. Before
he moved in he had this miseries that everyone would just be sat in a room half asleep. He was so, so wrong in this belief, there are so many activities arranged for residents, they can be kept busy socialising, or in his case not often, but supported to do what he wants to do. He loves the home, great weight off of my shoulders. The food completely to his taste and we can't praise enough the staff. They are friendly, helpful and always have time to chat if that's what he needs. I would highly recommend this home, I have great confidence my dad couldn't be anywhere better. Thanks.

My husband has been in Antiquary for three and half years. In that time he has been well looked after. Everyone no matter which unit, kitchen, cleaners, laundry and especially the carers all say hello to him by name and not just him they know the residents and their likes and dislikes. so are the activities etc.. The new manager has turned the place round as well.
