Wonderful Care Home whose team went above and beyond for our mum during her recent respite stay. Our mum is not the most patient of people but the team handled the challenges she provided with nothing but kindness and compassion at every turn. The entire team are a credit to the company.

I am very happy with the care my parents are receiving. They are very quick to pick up and deal with any healthcare issues that arise. I found all the staff exceptionally friendly and very helpful. Having my parents here means I can be a daughter again and not their carer.

Reply from Melanie Brockway, Brand & Communications Manager at Pitlochry Care Home

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for your loved ones' home. We are so glad to hear how happy you are with their care, the attention to detail and, not least, the friendliness and helpfulness you encounter from the care team. That is all as it should be and part of what we strive to provide every day. That you are able to be a daughter once more and no longer a 'carer' to your parents, is really quite wonderful to read. We will be sure to pass your kind words on to our hardworking staff.

My mum moved in a couple of weeks ago and is settling in fine. It's a really friendly peaceful atmosphere and the staff are pampering her, doing her nails and making sure she's happy.
The place looks great as does the grounds. I'm trying to think of something negative to say about the place but I
can't so well done.

Pitlochry Care Home

from M K (Mother of Resident) published on 10 December 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5

The home seems more relaxed and happier, with staff having more time for the residents. The new management is very pleasant and easy to talk to.
There is more entertainment for the residents, and there’s always more to do.
My son has had a stroke and is happy in Balhousie, but he could use help with
his speech, as he gets frustrated because he's not walking - his legs are not good. A big difference, and it's for the better.

Dalnaglar are now like an extended family to us. All the staff in the home couldn't have been more caring to my father whilst he stayed there. His palliative care was amazing, and I don't think our family would have been able to get through such a difficult time without all of their support. The Activities
Coordinator brings life and soul into the home, all activities are well thought out and each of the residents interests are considered. Fantastic staff, they are absolute angels! Thank you, all of you.

Stormont Lodge Care Home

from Lindsay C (Son of Resident) published on 18 November 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

As a family, we cannot praise the staff at Stormont highly enough. They treat our mother with so much love and kindness and with the utmost of respect and dignity. Our mum has been in the home since February of this year and settled in very quickly and this was down to no small part of the hard work
and dedication of the staff. Only the other week she commented to us that she was so pleased and happy that we had managed to get her a place at the home. Mum loves all the activities, especially the dancing and very much enjoys the social aspects of mixing with the other residents in the lounge. Communication with the senior staff is always first class, they are so welcoming and nothing is any bother.

Pitlochry Care Home

from Hynal C (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 October 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I and my family found Balhousie at Pitlochry to be a very special place. My mother received such wonderful care there during the last few weeks of her life. She was treated with dignity and respect and every effort was made by all the staff to encourage Mum to live life to the full in spite of her physical
limitations. Mum was so impressed with her room, it was far superior to the one she had had in a previous care home. Each health issue that cropped up was quickly and efficiently dealt with. We are so very thankful to each member of staff who not only cared for my mum but for us during the last week of her life. We will never forget it.

Pitlochry Care Home

from R B (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 August 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

The staff are very helpful, good range of activities provided for residents. Some communication issues, which now appear to be resolved. Key worker's role not yet clarified which hopefully aids a more knowledgeable person-centred approach. Regular laundry service is appreciated but items can be slow
to return (eg 2 weeks plus) Good standard of cleanliness and fixtures and fittings. Mum feels well supported, safe and treated with consideration.

Reply from David Kerr, Communications Team at Pitlochry Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to write this great review. The team will be delighted to hear how helpful you feel they are, the cleanliness of the home and how well-supported your mum feels. All feedback is taken onboard, of course. Our new manager will make it a priority to speak to you regarding the key worker's role. Pitlochry has a large laundry service but two weeks is longer than would be expected to have it returned. He will discuss this with the head housekeeper and revert back to you on this matter too.

Dalnaglar Care Home

from V L (Wife of Resident) published on 14 August 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

As you can imagine after 61 years it was a difficult decision to put my husband into care but now that he is settled in Dalnaglar I know it was the right decision. The staff are friendly caring and patient and they deliver to a very high standard with efficiency and humour. The home itself is bright
and sunny which I personally feel is effective in supporting a positive frame of mind and my husband's room is spacious and airy with a view of the lovely Crieff Hills.

I am also reliably informed by him that the meals at Dalnaglar are 'tiptop'. If I have any issues or questions the home is helpful and the forward-looking manager is extremely approachable. I admire her inborn ability to successfully manage such a large and diverse team of workers. The excellent nursing staff are always on hand to give advice thanks to the enthusiastic entertainment officer. There is plenty of fun on offer both outdoors and indoors. As it happens I don't have to travel far to see my husband so it goes without saying I feel incredibly lucky and relieved that he is a resident there.
