I have been visiting Drumdarroch for several years with children from a nearby nursery setting, to share intergenerational sessions with the residents which are enjoyed, and engaged in, by all generations. The staff have always supported our visits and we feel welcomed, nothing is ever too much trouble.
Seeing relationships form between children and residents is wonderful! I, along with the children look forward to our weekly visits, thank you so much for accommodating us!

We are pleased with Mum's overall care from day to day she is well looked after her needs are all met, as a wheelchair user she needs support with everything including feeding, dressing and washing she never complains and loves her food. They are kept busy with activities and also exercise if they
feel like it, there is also a cinema room and library. Mum is now 94 years old and likes a lie down in the afternoon the staff are used to her habits and are always on hand to assist. If there is a problem the manager is always available, all the staff are friendly and caring, and they all work as a team to make the lives of the residents worthwhile.

My mum has been a resident at St Columba's care home for over 6 years and resides on floor 1. All the staff are very attentive, very friendly towards her and know her little quirks. The family is kept up to date with all information by the staff which is very helpful to us.
It is a pity that the residents
are having to stay in their rooms at present due to the ongoing work replacing the kitchen and decorating the lounge but this is not the staff's fault and they are coping well with the situation.
Overall the staff are doing a very job looking after the residents and seeing to their needs.

St Columba's

from Mary S (Niece of Resident) published on 8 January 2025

My aunt has been in St Columba's for nearly 5 years. The care she receives there has been excellent. When my aunt first went into the home, she was unable to look after herself and had been transferred there from hospital. She only weighed 5 stone, was really confused and we were told she was double
incontinent. She is now healthy, happy, has gained 4 stone and is actually not incontinent. The staff are brilliant with my aunt. She is well looked after from every member of the St Columba's team. Putting a family member into a care home is the hardest decision for anyone, but I believe if we hadn't done this for our aunt, she wouldn't be here today.

I can honestly say that all the staff at Drumdarroch Home managers, nurses, carers, cleaners right through to the maintenance person are a fantastic team, so helpful, and nothing is too much bother for them. The home also has a very high standard of cleanliness. There always seems to be some sort of
entertainment/ activities going on as well with plenty of food and refreshments throughout the day. I would thoroughly recommend Drumdarroch to anyone looking for a care home for themselves or a relative.

Since my mum became a resident, she and all our family have been made to feel so welcome and included. Their motto is 'If this is your mums new home, it is also yours' - and that is exactly how we have been made to feel. The management, nurses and carers always stop to say hello and engage in conversation.
Nothing is ever too much for them. They have certainly made the hard decision so much easier.

As my mother only just moved into Drumdarrock House this review is based on her welcome. The manager and staff have been most helpful and welcoming. My mother's room was arranged by ourselves but there was a lovely welcome card and flowers given for her arrival. Since then we have had only the best
attentive updates on my mother's current stay and very grateful to have found her a room.

Welcoming! No matter when I visit my aunt I am always made very welcome. Drumdarroch has been a "live-saver" not only for my aunt but myself also. She has such good care, that I feel safe to go visit my family without worrying about her safety. It's been treated with a makeover recently so it is modern,
fresh and a good space wherever you turn. All the staff are friendly and professional. As well as indoors the outdoors are tidy, pleasant and now solar panels too!

Moving my grandmother into Drumdarroch was a very good experience, the staff were kind and allowed us to set the room up as we wanted. The welcome card and gifts were very nice and my gran is being well looked after. The food looks and smells delicious with plenty on offer at each meal time. Both nurses
I have met are really lovely and all staff are very much resident-led, so if my gran wants to have a long lie this is no problem. We are only one week into her staying at Drumdarroch but so far it has all been very positive. Even though my gran is maybe not the easiest person right now, as a family we have been kept in the loop and reassured at every step.

Harestane Care Home

from Avril M (Daughter of Resident) published on 6 September 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Sadly Mum passed in April 2024 after spending 15 happy months in Harestane Nursing Home. The staff and management team looked after Mum in a respectful manner and she settled in with no problem. We were always welcomed at Harestane and the staff knew us all as family. We would be consulted and updated
if Mum required medical treatment and we would discuss what would be best for her. Mum would take part in activities such as exercise class, and arts and crafts and when the musicians came along. She enjoyed the sing-along and loved to dance. The support we as a family received when Mum was in her final days was second to none. We would highly recommend this nursing home to anyone looking to have their loved ones cared for. All staff and management are credited to Priority Care.

My mum has been in Harestane since November 2023. I cannot praise the staff enough. My mum has complex medical issues and can be very difficult sometimes. The staff are amazing. Real living angels. They take excellent care of her and all the residents. They are always very polite and courteous. The
service, food, attention to detail, activities and events are more like a five-star holiday than a care home.
It gives me a great sense of peace to know my mum is safe and very well cared for.
The management team do an amazing job in running the home. It is always spotless and as a visitor, I always feel very welcome at any time.
The communication with the staff is excellent. I am always kept up to date with everything regarding my mum's care.
In reality, words cannot truly express the gratitude and admiration that I have towards the staff. They are wonderful real-life angels.

I feel the hard of hearing could be considered more, subtitles on TV, menus on tables (which were there for a short time) church service or entertainment, placed in a position where they can hear what's going on, making sure if asked a question they are understanding it. I have witnessed in an art activity
that my relative was at a table facing the wall and the activity was going on behind them. I have rarely seen anyone sitting and having a conversation with my relative and don't know if they really know anything about them.
