Compassionate, kind and caring environment. Plenty of well-trained dedicated staff who enjoy looking after people. A relaxed family approach where the residents' needs are first and foremost. A quiet location with gardens and plenty of parking.
Careful recording of food, liquid and medication done
discreetly. Medication is supervised so that no doses are left behind. Residents are thanked for taking their necessary medication.
High quality food is cooked by chefs on the premises and alternative dishes are offered when requested. Residents asked about the dishes they would like to see on the menu. Help with feeding is always at hand.
Plenty of help with personal care. Daily programme of activities from quizzes, movement to music and animal therapy with two lovely activity coordinators available all day.

The setting provides care for my Mother who is suffering from Parkinson's and has mobility issues. Staff are friendly, caring, and respectful and try to make her as comfortable as possible. The setting has a homely and welcoming atmosphere. The staff who provide activities for the residents also go
out of their way to help.

Mom has been at Redwood House for 3 years and I couldn't think of a better-suited care home for her. It has an instant family feel as soon as you walk through the door. The staff are residents are always happy, laughing, and joking with one another. I always feel welcomed when I walk through the door.
I can't fault anything and I'm so happy Mom is settled and content.

My Mother-in-law has been here for three years, and in that time the staff has been excellent. They are very caring and do their utmost to make her time here as comfortable as possible. She is very happy here and she sees all the carers as her friends. The food that is served here in my opinion is very
good. I have been invited to have lunch with her and I found the quality and variety of the food to be very good. Her accommodation is substantial and fills all her needs. Also, they provide a varied entertainment schedule, which the inmates enjoy. All in all an excellent facility, very comfortable and fulfilling for the residents.

Northwick Grange

from Carla W (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 January 2025

My Mum has been at Northwick Grange since April and it's been a challenging time due to her dementia. The staff have made sure she's settled, medication addressed with the doctor, sorted podiatrist when needed, serve her beautiful home-cooked meal in her room when she doesn't want to go to the dining
room, organise lovely activities and even tell her when music activity is on which she loves. So thoughtful and each individual need is attended to. We can relax and take comfort in Mum being cared for and her sometimes challenging times are never a problem, staff know how to deal with things. It's been a privilege to have Mum
in this small, caring, family-like home.
Thank you to all and especially those who make time in a hectic schedule to make Mum feel like she's the only resident there (when they're actually rushed off their feet) Highly recommended, 5 stars.

My mother has been a resident since July 2023 and from day one, the staff have been brilliant with her.
Personally, I have a very good relationship with all members of staff, who constantly inform me of any issues relating to my mother's wellbeing.
My mother has her own room, which is maintained to
a high standard and has numerous photographs and mementos on display.
The staff treat my mother with respect and consideration. The relationship between all members of staff and my mother is brilliant.

My mother-in-law has been a resident for the last 18 months and the staff made mom feel at home from the first day. They treat her with respect and with dignity.
Nothing is too much trouble for them and they have built a very good relationship with her. The whole house feels like a family unit, they
carry out their daily routines with care and to a professional standard.

My mom is a resident here, and all I can really say is this place is outstanding, the care, the attention to detail. And my mom is so well cared for and looked after. And from what I see so are all the other residents. The staff all seem to actually care about their residents. And treat them all with
the upmost respect. My one criticism is that they don't have Mom on an I.V. for her tea.

They take great care of my mom. I turn up unannounced and it's never a problem, which is so reassuring to find everything as it should be. My mom is a dementia patient, which is challenging for them I'm sure but staff go above and beyond to make sure her time here is as enjoyable as it can be. I'm happy
my mom is here and have no hesitation in recommending.

Foresters Nursing Home

from R D (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 December 2024

Deciding to look for a care home for our terminally ill mum was incredibly difficult. Mum very much wanted to stay at home and we had promised her that we could do that for her as far as we were able. Everything was positive, initial calls about visiting, meeting the manager, it gave us hope.
When
we got there, it was a difficult, but the staff really got to know us as a family and mum as an individual in order to provide the most appropriate care. A big factor for us was their care of us as a family - they looked after all of us as a family in addition to mum as a patient and their support is something I will be ever grateful for in the last week of mum's life. Mum was made to feel so important despite only being there a week. Their care and compassion is something I'll never forget. They are truly wonderful people who put their families front and centre and all we can say is thank you.

Redwood House Care Home

from Elaine D (Relative of Resident) published on 12 December 2024

What this care home lacks in modern facilities it makes up with in the excellent standard of care offered by the staff to each and every resident. I have witnessed staff having worked long shifts under very trying circumstances remain calm and caring and have the utmost respect for the residents. The
staff are an absolute asset in this home and I cannot praise them enough. The majority of the residents have dementia and some can be incredibly demanding and sometimes aggressive, this team are patient and kind and the feeling is very family.
Sadly my relative passed away in their care and they handled this terribly sad time with such professionalism and respect. My partner and I are sorry that we have no excuse to visit them anymore as after such a long time we grew to feel that they were good friends. Many of the staff attended the funeral in their own time - a dedication like this should not be taken for granted. In my opinion, they need a big pay rise.

Foresters Nursing Home

from Sarah A (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 December 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5

There is some good care and there are some kind and caring staff at this Home.
However, I specifically requested that my dying Mom to be started on a syringe driver to manage her pain and agitation. This request was refused by the Care Home Manager. My Mom died 48 hours later - agitated and in immense
pain (at times) during this time period. This Home is in no way equipped to care for End of Life patients or Palliation. There can be no second chances, and the memories of inadequate pain relief will stay forever.

Reply from Angela Butler, Care Home Manager at Foresters Nursing Home

Thank you for your review Sarah, I am so sorry that you think our care was inadequate, my staff believed that they acted in Mom's best interests at all times. We work closely with the Palliative care team and our GP to successfully manage pain relief without the need of a syringe driver. It can be really difficult coming to terms with losing someone as special as your mother and we wish you and your family well over the coming months.

from Debbie G (Daughter of Resident) published on 6 December 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

After a bad fall my Mum left hospital on a Discharge-to-Assess basis. We had no input to where she might be placed so I feel we were very lucky that Arden Park was home to Mum for 10 weeks. I struggled with the idea that Mum was in a specialist dementia care home as most of the residents were clearly
much further down their dementia journey. But I needn't have worried as the care team were absolutely brilliant. Everyone was hardworking, compassionate and caring, not just in dealing with my Mum but also in providing reassurance to our family. There is a lovely atmosphere in the home and it feels calm and welcoming. The staff are attentive and formed a lovely relationship with my Mum. There was often laughter between the carers and Mum which really helped her to settle.
I also must mention the food provided, what a great chef they have. Lovely meals and frequent tea and cake/biscuits throughout the day. Thank you to everyone at Arden Park for all you support and kindness.

On my first visit, I was very emotional but realised it was because a lot of the residents were visibly very poorly, time has shown how the staff are kind, caring and hard-working. I would like to thank all the staff who have looked after my sister so nicely, I also think the food and kitchen facilities
are excellent.

Mom was in the Foresters Nursing Home for just over 5 years and the care she received was really good. All the staff went above and beyond. She was looked after very well.
