All my dealings with all the members of staff and management have been highly positive. I feel that my sister is in the best place possible, given her condition. I would recommend anyone looking for residential care for a relative to take a look at Archer's Point.

I was asked to provide snacks and drinks and washing facilities.
The staff are not very friendly or welcoming.
Every time a resident got up they were told to sit down.
I was not allowed to be in the room while they washed my husband.
They refused to wash him until I went.
Not enough exercise for
the residents.
Safeguarding issue in process about bruising on my husband's arm.

Reply from Subha Jangiti, Operations Manager at Florence Nursing Home

We do not agree with the comments. We encourage families to provide their loved one with favourite snacks if possible. We provide washing facilities for the residents, those families who are not able to provide, families must provide specific creams which cannot be prescribed by the GP, we always ask the families to buy it.
We need to protect the privacy and dignity of the resident when they are having their personal care. We always ask the family to wait outside when staff are assisting the residents when they are doing personal care or changing.
We do a wide range of activities, which are suitable for our elderly frail residents.
Families need to be fully aware of the condition of their loved ones, they need to know the difference between the finger marks and the bruise. We have risk assessments in place for sensitive skin conditions.

This is a lovely home that feels like a home not a hotel. In the reception area are lots of things! Flowers, pictures, books, fish tank, bric a brac, it is homely. I suppose this is personal taste but for our mum, it was like the home she had to leave.

Since mum's arrival here in spring 2017, management,

staff, cleaners and all employed here have helped to make mum feel safe and at home. The manager kept us informed of any concerns and difficulties arising, seeking us out to talk to when visiting. Staff are welcoming and always present in the main lounge area.

From observations when visiting, service users are treated with respect and dignity, given informed choices and encouraged to be independent.

When a dietary and weight concern arose, the manager called in the appropriate health professionals to advise.

We have confidence and trust in this home and mum has said on more than one occasion, "they are very good here."

My mother has been at Archer's Point for 1 1/2 years. When she was first accepted as a resident she was quite distressed. However, the owner's and the staff were able to alleviate that anxiety. Additionally, mother was losing weight but steps were taken to get a nutritionist to review her and set up
a programme for her. As a result, her weight has gone up and she looks well and healthy. My mother has settled in and is happy.

The home could do with a complete refurbishment, it is so old fashioned. The taps are loose in the sinks. The fishpond in the garden is very dirty but the flowers are nice in the garden. The TV in the room does not work. Staff seem friendly enough though it's a shame only continental breakfast is served,
no egg, bacon and beans. There are no walk-in showers, only a bath with a lift.

Friendly staff, from first visit my mother has received wonderful care and kindness nothing is too much bother for staff, willing and helpful to please residents. Visitors always offered tea or coffee etc with a smile. Staff seem very happy. Owner always available for a chat. Could do with an internal
paint up but understand this is difficult with elderly residents.

Mum stayed for 2 weeks respite care, all staff were kind, considerate, friendly and polite. Mum was comfortable and relaxed during her stay.
Staff said hello to residents at the beginning of their shift and said goodbye as they left.
The home is clean and tidy, all residents were addressed by name.
We would have no hesitation in using this home again.
Mum is partially sighted and has mild dementia, she has difficulty standing/sitting/getting out of bed. Staff were aware of her needs.

I am so pleased that mum went to this care home, she is well looked after always clean and presentable, the staff are really brilliant with the residents, and answers family questions and really friendly, they can't do enough for the residents and their family. All the residents get on well together.
The home is clean and tidy, and the meals are really nice too. The owner has done a very good job and has a great team working for her. I cannot fault them in anything they are great.

This experience was our first foray into a nursing home and although initially unsure, all of the staff in the Florence Nursing Home were delightful in their dealings and care of my aunt.
My aunt was there for recuperation after a fall and they helped her through this.

Florence Nursing Home cared for my sister initially on a respite basis and then for 4 years as a resident. She had Downs Syndrome and suffered from other medical ailments. The owner, Managers and Staff of Florence were so kind and supportive and my sister really considered it her home. She enjoyed a
great relationship with all, even when she was a little obstinate - which she could be from time to time! My family and I are most grateful to all at the Home who cared for her over the years.

Florence Nursing home is a very friendly and caring home. The food is varied and tasty. Laundry service is excellent. The nursing staff are very patient an caring to the residents and some entertainment is provided. I feel that the doctor with whom my sister and other patients had was not as attentive
as we would have liked.

My mum recently went into Florence Nursing Home in Bromley for a week to enable me to have a much needed break. I was not looking forward to leaving her as you hear of so many negative things. This home however was clean, welcoming and all staff I came across were friendly, professional and helpful.
My mum was clean and tidy when I went to collect her today and to my absolute amazement made the comment "Am I going home? Oh I wouldn't have minded staying here." Her clothes were clean, I cannot express how impressed I was with the quality of care provided here. Would have no hesitation in using then again in the future.

As my mum is in bed 24 hours a day I cannot comment on the activities, as for all other amenities, we are very happy. The staff are very kind and helpful, mum seems as happy as you can hope as it's not her own home. Also find the home very clean and no unpleasant smells.

Accommodation and facilities are adequate, but some modernisation desirable. Staff very good, well skilled and caring, but hard pressed so bed bound residents have to wait.
Food very good in quality, quantity and variety, and served in a friendly way. Owner and senior management approachable and on
request if possible. Also good cleaning and hygiene.
