My father spent nearly 1 year in the care of Cairnmartin Court Nursing Home, initially on the ground floor, but then to the first floor where he was able to receive the care and attention for his medical requirements. As a family, we cannot speak highly enough for Cairnmartin. We all felt he received
the best level of care and attention during his stay and that every member of staff went over and beyond, always taking time for my father and his family.
Cairnmartin was always presented to a very high standard and was also always spotlessly clean throughout.
Catering was excellent with a variety of meals and refreshments.
As a family, we would not hesitate to recommend Cairnmartin as a place to facilitate your loved ones knowing they will receive the respect and dignity they deserve.

I am writing to express my heartfelt appreciation for the outstanding care my grandmother received at Railway Lodge. The staff were absolutely brilliant, providing attentive, compassionate, and professional care at all times. Always welcomed our family with a smile on their faces. The home has a very
positive atmosphere, where everyone- from the caregivers to the management team- exudes warmth and friendliness. My grandmother always felt valued and well-cared for, and it gave our family immense peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. The dedication and kindness of the staff made a significant difference in her quality of life, and we are truly grateful for their exceptional service. Nurses always contacted us if there were any changes to Nanny. I highly recommend Railway Lodge Care Home to anyone seeking a caring and supportive environment for their loved ones.

Mum’s ward is getting a new kitchenette installed in the existing day room. That has meant her and the other residents being confined to their rooms for 4 weeks. 4 weeks - so far, of isolation. I’ve never seen any staff interact with mum other than dropping off food.
Mum is filthy, covered in food
and with food over her floor that remains from one meal to the next. She can’t use cutlery and uses her fingers to eat, but as her condition has gotten worse the staff haven’t kept up with the level of support she needs to eat. Food just turns to crumbs in her hands and then she’s left to sit in it.

My father when into Conway suite and quickly declined. He has dementia and there were no activities or stimulation at all. He was there for 3 months.
Dad was not shown any respect or care, staff were even at times rude to visitors.
The final straw came when dad was wheeled to his room for our visit
and he smelled bad! I checked him and found faeces on his fingers. Dad is not mobile so he must have done it in bed the night before, meaning he ate breakfast with dirty hands and also meaning that he was not checked or washed that morning. I obviously lodged a complaint and received an acknowledgment outlining complaint timescales. I've heard nothing more and their timescales have passed! That shows how much they care for residents. Dad is no longer there thankfully. Please do not put a loved one in there.

Yet again I have had to wash my father's hands and face.
The lack of basic hygiene care and respect for my father who has Alzheimer's is absolutely disgusting.
No comment cards as of a week ago, five hand sanitisers, only one with hand sanitisers in it.
Can not wait for our father to get home.
No
stimulation either for the residents in the Alzheimer's/Dementia suite, all he does is sit was his comment. Totally disgusted.

Extremely disappointed at the lack of support provided for our mother. Discharged in car park with no warning and no support or advice of alternative services available. Would not recommend this care home to anyone.

A few months ago my Mother sadly passed away at Railway Lodge, having had dementia and increasing physical frailty for some time. Although it was a very difficult situation with COVID restrictions, the staff worked very hard to support us as a family with very regular contact and provided superb end
of life care to my Mother. I can not commend the Care Home staff highly enough for their professional care, support and attention throughout and would not hesitate to recommend the Home to other families in similar circumstances.

Excellent support for the residents, friendly staff and caring. Efficient. Very supportive to my aunt who has been blind since childbirth. They treat residents with dignity in their last years of life which is wonderful as they may now have dementia and can't remember they were all normal people before
this horrible disease.

I have spent hours sitting with my mum and can hear how staff treat residents in other rooms. They are always kind and caring. They are sensitive to my mum's changing needs. Family and friends are always welcome. The staff contact us whenever there is a change in her condition or medication and this
is very reassuring as none of us lives nearby. Knowing mum is in such good hands has taken a huge weight off our minds.

Good security to enter/exit the home. The general atmosphere inside is one of peacefulness and quiet order.
Television programmes in the lounges seem irrelevant to the residents and can inhibit conversation. An alternative would be programmes/DVD's of nature/wildlife or general scenery with no sound
or else background music.
Staff are helpful, cheery and attentive to residents and visitors.

My father has just finished 10 days of respite in Ardmaine. He was made extremely welcome and new faces from his last stay. The Manager was extremely kind he had an eye infection and it was looked at and antibiotics were given the next day. The staff are very friendly and visitors are made to feel welcome
it has been my father’s 3rd time to stay. I am very happy to recommend anyone’s parent’s having to go to Ardmaine I’d have no objection for my dad to return when required. Thanks very much.

After visiting a selection of care homes in the Lisburn area Rosevale Lodge came top of the list. The staff appeared generally kind and helpful to their clients. The rooms are clean and cheerful and families encouraged to bring familiar items from home making their family member more relaxed.
Meals
are varied and nutritious with residents appearing to enjoy the dining experience. The square footprint of the unit is ideal for my aunt as she enjoys to walk. The only drawback to the unit is the lack of personal toilet/showering facilities. But overall both myself and more importantly my aunt enjoys her stay at Rosevale Lodge.

Overall I think my mother has and is currently receiving a good standard of care. There have been some issues raised about staff members but I do feel they were dealt with appropriately and efficiently. Some of the facilities such as buzzers in rooms would need to be updated and more user-friendly.
I would like to see more activities to stimulate residents and more exercise introduced. Presently the standard of care has improved and the majority of staff are very good.
