My father in law was admitted here in November 2024 for end of life care and expected death within a week. With the care and attention of staff, he became more stable and passed away in March 2025. He felt like he was in a hotel. The staff were always busy, but despite this they always went over
and above. Since he needed a halal diet, the cook made special effort for cooking the food. All the staff from the senior nurses, carers, cleaners, cook, assistants were absolutely brilliant. Social and emotional needs were dealt with to support my father in law when his son died. There was religious ministerial back up, the podiatrists and hair dressers would visit regularly. The carers dealt with his religious needs right to the final moments.
He was always washed, dressed and well cared for.
Most of all we had peace of mind in trusting that our relative was very well looked after.

My dad spend the last 4 months of his life receiving end of life care. He received excellent standard of care and was always promptly attended to. Staff were exceptionally friendly and professional are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure his care needs were well met. Halal meals were provided
and feedback was always taken into consideration. Anticipatory medicine was always given promptly so my dad did not experience any pain or different. The quality of care is unmatched and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a safe and nurturing place for their loved ones.

Middlesbrough Grange

from Jane R (Wife of Resident) published on 17 March 2025

Management of this home do not follow correct procedures. My husbands care plan was not up to date and was only corrected when I flagged it up. We found ourselves in the position that my husband was evicted from the home with no eviction notice apart from when they tried to give me a backdated notice
which I refused to accept. No support was given when we had to find new accommodation. All this points are absolutely proven to be true. Still no apology given. Would i recommend this home?? Absolutely not. The care home is in direct need of refurbishment. There is no activity coordinator or activity programme to help stimulate the residents. Residents are currently all on one floor and are a mix of residential, dementia, complex needs and respite care. I would have given no stars but that option wasn't available.

Reply from Emily Whitehurst, Chief Operating Officer at Middlesbrough Grange

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry you feel this way and appreciate the opportunity to clarify. Providing the highest standards of care is at the heart of what we do. We follow all regulations and best practices, and recent stakeholder inspections were successfully completed with positive feedback. Closing the top floor was necessary for vital refurbishment. Since acquiring the home, we have invested over 60,000, with more planned to enhance communal spaces, upgrade facilities, and create a warm, welcoming environment. Resident well-being remained our priority. We carefully assessed compatibility to ensure we maintained great support, and where needed, we offered smooth, compassionate transitions to another near Constantia care home.We continue strengthening our wellbeing programme and are also enhancing communication through Family WhatsApp Groups and Resident Gazettes. We truly value our residents and families. If you'd like to talk, we'd love to hear from you.

My mother moved into Linson Court when she was unable to return home following a hospital stay. Sadly she died after only 4 weeks with them, but I am truly grateful for the patience, kindness and compassion shown by all of the staff looking after her. Her room was clean and comfortable and we were able
to make it as close to her home environment as possible. She enjoyed the food, when she was able to eat (she was extremely picky!), and always commented on the 'home madeness" of it). The Registered Manager is easily accessible and open to feedback, and she maintains high standards throughout. I have no hesitation recommending Linson Court to anyone looking for a safe, caring and responsive environment for their loved one.

from Stacey L (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 January 2025

My mum was admitted on Christmas Eve from hospital.
Prior to mum coming to Manorcroft we, the family, were invited to visit the home and view Mum's room, which is a lovely room, quiet, clean and comfortable.
This was extremely important to us and appreciated by the family as it gave us piece of mind
before Mum's arrival.
Since Mum's arrival she has received what I can only describe as the very best of care, she is looked after by the staff as if she were their mother.
The staff are extremely supportive and ever so considerate towards Mum and our family.
I noticed that the staff are always happy and focused on the wellbeing of every one of their patients.
I visit most days and each time the staff welcome me and I smile when I see how they engage with the patients whether it be a singalong or a game of dominoes.
Nothing ever seems too much trouble in what I perceive as a very demanding job.
So much admiration for Moorcroft Care Home and everyone working there.

A well-managed care home with wonderful caring staff. Very clean and tidy and kept that way by the fastidious cleaning staff and maintenance team. The activities organizer makes sure everyone is included and works hard to make sure there are activities every day. The outside space is very well kept

I have placed 3 relatives in this care home over the last 8 years. All have been cared for well, the staff are very helpful and friendly and turnover is quite low which is a good thing. Lots of staff have been working the whole 7 years I have been visiting.
The recent redevelopment has only enhanced
things which now means a more up to date environment and furnishings.
I would recommend this home to anyone looking to place a relative.

St. John's House is an impressive property set in beautifully maintained grounds with summer houses, patios, and plentiful seating areas for warmer weather. The home itself is tastefully decorated with a comfortable lounge, various dining areas, and seating areas with views over the gardens. Everywhere
is clean, light, and airy and staff go above and beyond to deliver excellent care to all residents in a kind, friendly, and professional manner. There is a varied and interesting activities programme with trips out and outside entertainment, speakers, and musicians coming into the home. Management and staff are approachable and helpful. My relative has been at St John's for 6 years. We visit them x3 per week. We know the home and the staff, carers, domestic and management very well.
I would not hesitate to recommend St John's to any person looking for a care setting for their family member. The home is always spotlessly clean. A range
of activities are provided. There are trips out for those who can manage them. There is a variety of food offered, and the residents have their choice.
However, the most important thing is the staff. Whatever role they have in the home they treat the residents with great kindness and respect. They are simply superb.
Recently I told my relative that I might not be able to visit next time because of the weather. Her reply was "Well you don't need to worry, you know I'm well looked after here".

Mum has been settled at St John's home for well over 2 years. She is extremely well cared for and nothing is too much trouble. When mum was extremely poorly in December 2023 the carers were amazing and were on hand 24/7 and fed her whatever she could manage to enable her to recover fully. I am very
grateful.
All the staff are very friendly and really do care for the residents as if they were their own family. The meals look very nutritious and I try and visit when it's coffee and homemade cake time usually mid-afternoon!
The home is always very clean and the grounds are immaculate.
I would recommend the home to anyone.
