I find the home a very nice clean place, the staff go above and beyond their care duties. They are very busy and work very hard, but always go out of the way for the people they care for. It's not a easy job to do. They genuine and they do a fantastic job

Rotherwood Care Home is an amazing place, I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they give to my dad. Each member of staff not only show commitment to their care but also love and dignity to him. After arriving in August, initially for respite, he is now a full time resident as he feels Rotherwood
and all staff have become an extension of his family. We, as a family, can relax knowing he is very well cared for, happy, well fed and comfortable. Thank you to all the staff at Rotherwood, you are an amazing team and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rotherwood as the first choice to have loved ones cared for.

The standard of care and kindness when our mum was very ill was outstanding. She was treated with such love and care and as a family, we also felt very looked after. The management team and the carers helped us so much at the worst time of our lives and as a family, we will be forever grateful. The
staff are incredibly hard-working and are often working in very difficult circumstances.

Our first experience of finding a care home for a relative wasn't easy, however, we visited Mulberry Manor and found that just stepping inside the home felt friendly, a home from home. The room allocated was clean and fresh, and the cost was very reasonable compared to other homes. The staff at Mulberry
were there to assist in settling in. Staff were empathetic and courteous at all times. Staff encouraged residents to join in with activities, meeting and greeting others. All care needs were met. Staff were trained in the equipment used. We would definitely recommend Mulberry to others.

What a lovely place, I was recommended by a care worker who was looking after my sister at the home she was in that, unfortunately, was closing down. It was very local to me and on my very first visit was impressed by all the smiling faces, there was absolutely none of the care home smells that people
talk about. There was clean wipable flooring throughout. The place has had a lot of refurbishing and modernisation, not quite finished yet, but not far off. There is a hairdressing salon on site and residents have entertainment arranged by activity staff. My sister has been here nearly a month and the move has not affected her at all. She has been able to make her room her own by adding her own furniture etc. Although the ones supplied are nice. I am so pleased the care worker recommended it and the manager found her acceptable, thank you both.

Thank you to all the staff for the care and support that Rotherwood have given to me and my parents. I think you are an amazing team, creating a lovely homely atmosphere which is warm and friendly. I can't thank you enough for the way you look after my parents. I also love the varied activities you
provide which Mum loves too. I do like to see the photos on social media, my mum is always smiling.

Excellent care, very attentive. Would highly recommend it. I looked around lots of care homes for my mum, and this one stood out for its friendliness and openness. You can visit at any time and still witness the high level of care. The gardens could do with a tidy, but I have been told this is getting
sorted next year. Don't be put off by the slightly run-down building. Mum seems very happy there, and they clearly care about her.

My mum went into Rotherwood Care Home for respite, but she has decided she is now staying for long-term as she loves it that much. She has said that the home is good; staff are amazing with her, the food is nice and she loves her bedroom. As a family we would recommend the home, as the staff and management
have made a hard time for us become so easy with how helpful they have been for Mum and our family.

My Mum has been a resident of Rotherwood Care Home for 5 years. I cannot praise the manager and all her staff enough. My Mum is so well looked after and what is really important is how happy she tells us she is.
The Staff keep us updated all the time which gives us such peace of mind as we live quite
a distance away from Rotherham.
Mum is unable to get out of bed but she is still included and the entertainment lady makes sure she does not miss out and we see evidence of that in Mums room.
I would like to thank everyone who works there for taking such good care of Mum, Thank you.

My mother has been a resident of Rotherwood Care Home for the past year following spells in the hospital after falls and a diagnosis of dementia. My overall impression of the care she has received is very good. The staff are friendly and approachable. The activities coordinator is particularly to be
commended as she has lots of different activities and tries to involve everyone to their respective abilities. It is unfortunate that Rotherwood doesn't have a garden for residents to use in the fine weather. Overall infections seem to be well controlled and the staff and visitors still have to wear masks whilst in the home in order to protect the residents.

The staff are fantastic. All staff go above and beyond to help my sister whenever she needs it. Nothing ever seems to be too much. The atmosphere is fantastic and all staff are very friendly and approachable. The home overall is comfortable, warm and homely for everyone who enters. I have recommended
Rotherwood to some of my friends looking for a care home as it is great. No issues whatsoever from when my sister went into the home to now, she looks well, eats well, and is always in a happy mood.

My husband has been in Rotherwood for four months. He has made lots of friends and has good relationships with the staff. The home had a good atmosphere and seems organised. I cannot thank the staff enough for giving my husband a good quality of life. I am always able to speak with the seniors on shift
or the manager with any questions I may have.

We have a family member in this care home and have seen a major improvement in recent months.
The staff are friendly, polite and kind. The care home seems more organised and well-staffed with the new management in place. The care home is well structured and medicines are distributed well. She is a
much happier resident than she was in previous years, the home is cleaner and tidier and she is very settled here.

Mum has been at Rotherwood Care Home for 6 months now and I have seen such a good change in her happiness. I live away and had visited mum in April - she has dementia. Carers were helping at her home 3 to 4 times a day but it was a constant struggle. She went to Rotherwood after a sudden decline and
I cannot tell you the difference in her. She laughs and dances, gets on so well with the other residents. They have a lot of fun with daily activities. I recently visited mum for four weeks and stayed close by. Each day the staff met me with hugs and compassion. They get it and know what we are all going through. I found each staff member to be exceptional and special in their own loving way. Yes, this place is filled with love and staff that do go the extra mile with not a second thought. It is just the way they are. I cannot thank them enough for making this difficult time much easier and happier for all concerned. The food is excellent and plentiful with a cup of tea always ready.

A decline in what was a wonderful care home. Over the last 12 months, I have seen a steady decline in the hygiene of the care home itself, there is rubbish, tyres and loads of cigarette ends to an extent I can't explain, it's not one or two it's hundreds and not exaggerating. There is a lack of stimulation
for residents and while there are good carers they seem to be left to their own devices and not following care guidelines. If I could move mum I would.

We take all feedback very seriously. My apologies that your experience is not what you hoped for. The care and well-being of our residents are always our principal priority. We are reviewing the situation with the external property, however, being winter this may have been a focus point for warmer months. We would like to offer you the opportunity to raise your concerns with the home manager, who may be able to provide more specific detail on activities programming that your loved one would feel was more suited to their needs and interests.

I have to say, unfortunately, this, what was a wonderful care home, does not in its current state reflect on the brochure images. It is so disappointing to see the decline. The outside areas are disgusting unkempt and unclean. There are old papers, tyres and cigarette debris everywhere, some of which
have been there for months. The furniture has been broken and unsafe again for months now. The activities for residents are either intermittent or none existent. Some of the staff are amazing, absolutely wonderful and take pride in their work, others/a few are just not interested. I really could go on. There just seems to be really low morale and not much in the way of inspiration and moving forward. I have in the past written wonderful reviews, I really hope I can again and very soon.

The room my husband is in is very depressing as the carpet is in a disgusting state. It is black with God only knows what, it shines! The cleaners have tried to clean, but it would not come clean and it's just getting worse. This flooring needs to be removed as it's unhygienic. The home itself needs
some upgrading, old wooden windows are ill-fitting are very drafty.

Reply from Lindsey Thawley, Home Manager at Mulberry Manor

We are aware of the situation with the carpet and have raised this concern several times with head office and have received quotes for the carpet to be replaced, we can only apologise for the delay in having the carpet replaced and will continue to raise this issue with head office.
With regards to the windows, this has also been raised however, we do not own the building and this is an issue we have raised several times with the landlord, again please accept my apologies we will continue to raise these concerns.
As previously discussed, we have offered an alternative room for the interim as this is the only option I am able to offer at my level, if you would like the room change to go ahead then please do not hesitate to contact me and will arrange this asap.
