Maplewood Court

We really could not have found a lovelier home for our dear Mum than Maplewood Court. It is such a beautiful and therapeutic place to be, where Mum, and all of our family, feel valued and cared for. The staff are so kind, and we have the peace of knowing that she really is in the best of care. Mum
used to love going out to coffee shops, and so the 'Bistro' is a lovely area where we sit with her, and have a cuppa and a piece of home made cake. For many years, Mum liked to paint with watercolours, and a lovely lady who does crafts with the residents, has been helping her to begin enjoying her painting again, which is so lovely to see. We truly can't tell you how very thankful we are for the blessing that is Maplewood Court.

Maplewood Court

Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Our initial experience of Maplewood Court and their excellent staff team is very positive indeed. From the very first phone call we made as novices to this sector to where we are now, well informed and assisted at every stage to select appropriate care for my aunt.
My aunt, initially a reluctant
resident, was within a few short weeks at the hands of caring, friendly staff exercising their many skills to introduce her to the rhythms and activities of the home, settling beautifully and looks and feels much happier and healthier than when she arrived. She now feels involved and accepted by a good circle of friends and attends most activities, not to mention having her hair styled regularly and looking forward to the ministrations of the chiropodist. So much so we often find it difficult to catch her in her room when ringing her.
We cannot fault the care and the attention to detail in the home, all queries are dealt with speedily and followed up whenever necessary.

Reply from Jo Mazza, General Manager at Maplewood Court

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a positive review. Your Aunt is settling beautifully with us. I will share this lovely feedback with the team.

My dad has been at the care home for a few months. All staff seem friendly and kind, and they offer lots of different activities to the residents. The care home is well looked after, clean and welcoming to visitors and the residents. My dad likes it there and the staff are quite good. Feedback is taken
on board but not necessarily acted upon. Its very expensive, but they all are! It's better than the other care home he tried and they do look after their residents.

The overall experience was outstanding. Dad came in for respite care and I was very anxious about leaving him but the care, food, socialising and service was absolutely brilliant. Dad thoroughly enjoyed being here. I have total confidence that I can go on holiday with peace of mind that Dad is well
cared for and safe. I cannot recommend Osbern Manor Care Home enough. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Hyllden Heights

We are so delighted, and relieved too, that Mum's new home is at Hyllden Heights. It has the loveliest atmosphere, and such a strong management and team leaders who are regularly checking in with us that all is well. They respond to any feedback, the smallest thing that may matter to my mum, they want
to know about and support. The staff, from the moment you are greeted at Reception and then within, the Care team, those in the kitchen/ restaurant, maintenance and management, are all feeling like an extension of family to us, and wearing so many smiles, that helps create the positive atmosphere for Residents and visitors too. It is a huge relief for me and indeed for Mum, that she feels just so settled and happy there, and that I know I can rely on her being kindly looked after, as well as being offered happy, interesting days, plus cuddles, which are good for the soul! Her room is also generously sized, as is the bed. Moving in was the best decision she and our family could have made.

Reply from Louise Groves, Client Relations Assistant at Hyllden Heights

Thank you so much for your lovely review, I know that Mum is thought of very highly by all the staff and her smile, keeps us all smiling. I will pass your feedback to the rest of the team.

Spent 3 weeks in respite care while primary carers were away. I have been in respite in other care home, but none compared to Osbern Manor. I was so well looked after that I am now considering permanent residency here.

Excellent care for my elderly mother. A spotless and clean care home. Plenty of good staff who go above and beyond and treat the residents as treasured guests.
Excellent and informative front of house receptionists, who are kind, caring and spend time talking to the residents in a gentle and happy
way. Food is excellent, the decor throughout is of a high standard.

My mother spent the last 15 months of her life at Maplewood Court until she passed away recently. During this time, she was extremely happy and received fantastic care from the team at the Maplewood Court care home. From the top down, I have never seen so many smiling, welcoming and caring personnel.
Nothing was too much trouble, there was always staff on hand to provide any assistance and motivation. My mother was involved in a variety of daily activities and really looked forward to her weekly "pamper" session with the hairdresser. Our family could not have been happier with the love and care that our mum received at Maplewood Court care home and we would like to take this opportunity of thanking everyone for their amazing contribution to her life.

Osbern Manor Care Home

from M F (Grandson of Resident) published on 9 December 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

Osbern Manor boasts a five-star facility, yet the quality of care provided by the staff is disappointing and fails to meet even basic expectations. One would expect that the staff are in this line of work because they genuinely care about nurturing residents and enhancing their quality of life in their
final years. However, it often seems that everything is viewed as an inconvenience to them, leading me to believe they may be in the wrong profession. Even down the general pettiness and unprofessionalism from even the most senior members of staff. It's really disappointing to experience. Once the facilities begin to age and lose their initial appeal, there will be little left to recommend it.

We are sorry to read that you were not happy with the care your Grandmother received during her stay in Osbern Manor. We are always keen to discuss any concerns and work with family members to rectify wherever possible any issues surrounding their loved ones' stay with us. We had never had to serve notice to any resident previously and the decision here was reached reluctantly. We take on board all feedback provided in order to hone our services and regret that you felt our standards were lacking in your opinion. Our home manager is still available to discuss any further matters. Of course, we are sorry that we were not able to make things work out to the satisfaction of all parties and wish your grandmother the very best going forward and hope that she becomes settled in her new home.

Staff have always been friednly and helpful. The home itself is of a very high standard and clean. It doesn't matter what you ask of any of the staff, they will resolve the matter before you leave. If on the odd occasion, any questions can't be answered, on your next visit someone will be able to help.

Maplewood Court has been home to my Dad for the last 2 years until he sadly passed away recently.
Dad received excellent care, he was not always the easiest of residents but the team showed understanding, care and patience always.
The home itself is fabulous and clean and nothing is too much trouble

I cannot fault the physical and emotional care given to my mother during her five-month residence and especially in her last week. The facilities and catering in the home are excellent but, more importantly, the staff are without exception supportive, caring and loving. It is hard to place a loved one
in someone else's care but I couldn't have wished for better.
