My mother-in-law has settled in so well to Wellington Vale, having moved in just before Christmas. She had been reluctant to take the step but has actually enjoyed letting go of all the day to day problems running a house entailed. She loves the garden, especially the wild life that can be seen from
her penthouse and the fact that someone else cuts the grass and hedges! She's made good friends there and the nurses, carers and activities team are dedicated and very understanding of her needs and wants. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, whether that is planting flowers from her old garden, having a chat whilst cleaning her room, sorting out a sticky door or booking her in for a hair cut.

Reply from Helen Dunning, Home Admissions Advisor at Wellington Vale Care Home

Thank you for this excellent review! It has been wonderful to see your mother in-law slowly settle in and now really enjoy everything Wellington Vale has to offer.

The team at Wellington Vale have made Mum very welcome since she moved in. Although feeling uncertain about the home, she has been very well cared for and now loves her new home. She has made new friends and loves the staff who care for her. She loves the meals and has put weight on since relocating.
She enjoys most of the activities, especially the balloon volleyball and trips out.

The facilities are amazing and the staff so welcoming, engaging and helpful, both to Mum and us.

I visit my friend twice a week and I am just so pleased with everything here at Hartwood House. My friend was so worried about coming in but she calls this her new home. The staff have become her family and to see the way she has come out of her shell is inspiring. She is now eating far better than
she was before, she looks so happy and healthy and I genuinely believe this is from the outstanding care given by the staff at this home.

Reply from Charlotte Dean, Home Admissions Advisor at Hartwood House Care Home

What lovely words, thank you so much from all of the team here at Hartwood House. It makes us so happy to hear that she is coming out of her shell, its so hard coming into a social environment when you have been on your own for so long. We like to take the time to get to know each resident and encourage them to participate and socialise when they are ready to do so. Our chef visits also play such a huge part in us getting to know the likes and dislikes of all of our residents, this helps us to provide food that we know they will enjoy. We have all seen such a huge improvement with this particular resident and we are so happy to have her here with us.

Sunnybank House Care Home

from S S (Brother-in-law of Resident) published on 21 March 2025

Outstanding value for money. Sunnybank cannot be praised enough for the kind compassionate care that they provide to my sister in law. As they say you get what you pay for and Sunnybank are worth every penny. The staff are always on hand to help and ensure that her needs are met. They all take the time
to know her personally which cannot be said for other homes. The rooms and the communal areas are kept spotlessly clean. Food is of a high standard and the menu is kept varied and interesting. It was as everyone finds a very difficult decision to place a loved one in a care home but our decision has been vindicated with the quality of care that Sunnybank provides.

Reply from Jessica Wooldridge, Home Admissions Advisor at Sunnybank House Care Home

Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt review. We are truly honoured to have earned your trust and to be a part of your sister-in-law's care journey. At Sunnybank, our mission is to provide not just care, but a home where every resident feels valued, understood, and well supported. It means the world to us that you noticed the dedication of our team in taking the time to truly connect with our residents, as well as our efforts to maintain a clean, welcoming environment and deliver high-quality, varied meals. We're also so grateful that you felt reassured by your decision during what is undoubtedly one of life's more difficult moments.Your words encourage us to continue striving for excellence, and we're so glad we could provide peace of mind and care for your family. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience-it means so much to our entire team.

Netley Court Care Home

from Kim G (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I bought my father to Netley Court beginning November 2024. He was very reluctant to leave his home and go somewhere strange for him.
With the kindness, care, support of all the staff Dad began to respond to all the staff's lovely manner towards him. Nothing at all was too much trouble for them and
he was regularly checked on through the day and night - cups of tea at any time within the 24 hours.
The staff were extremely supportive to me and my family, at all times, keeping me up to date of how Dad was managing, food intake and speaking with his Doctor on numerous occasions. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
I would highly recommend Netley Court in every way.
I would like to say a massive thank you to all staff at NC (on every level) for giving my Dad a very peaceful loving experience in his last 7 months of his life. Thank you.

Oh.... thank you so much... we so so so loved Dad as you know. His smile was infectious and his laughter a delight. We miss him so much and are so glad you chose Netley Court so we could be a part of his life and yours. Come visit soon!

We looked for a care home for my father in law for a while and after being recommend to go and look at Netley Court we decided to make a visit. The impression we received was of a very caring home where the staff were clearly involved with the residents on a personal level and it was obvious that this
was a really well run care home with caring staff and management. The food was excellent and staff happy to make something for you off the main menu if required. There were also numerous activities going on and all displayed on the activity board in order that we could preplan. I would have no hesitation in recommending Netley Court to any prospective user.

My mum came in for some respite after a hospital fall. The plan was for her to come home. We had tried to get her into respite for many years but she refused. After a few weeks at Hartwood, mum made the decision that she wanted to remain here permanently! We are blown away by the incredible staff here
and the care they show everyone from each-other, the residents and visitors. Hartwood House is more than a care home - its a home!

The fact that she has chosen to stay is just wonderful news, she has made such a good group of friends and to see her interacting and joining them for meal times is so lovely! We really are a family here at Hartwood House and the residents and their loved ones are a part of that also. We are so glad to have you all with us.

The care I received for my Uncle was excellent, he obviously had some doubts but was made to feel welcome from the very beginning. The staff were polite and nothing was to much trouble for them. The room was clean and obvious thought had gone into the design with a themed hallway throughout. The home
is situated close to the village so convenient for residents and visitors, although this was a temporary stay I would have no doubts about making this a permanent stay if and when it would be needed.

Sunnybank House Care Home

from C A (Resident) published on 21 February 2025

My husband has dementia and we go to two meetings a week at Sunnybank House Care Home, on a Monday is coffee and cake, sometimes there is entertainment or we have quizzes or play games, which help a lot with memory. On the Wednesday it is a Ladds and Lattee morning. Where games are played and they talk
to help recall their memories. Their partner goes in a different room for coffee, where we can have a good talk about what's going on and help if any is needed. It is very good all round.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience at Sunnybank House Care Home. It's heartening to hear about the wonderful activities and support they provide for both individuals living with dementia and their partners. The Monday sessions with coffee, cake, entertainment, quizzes, and games sound fantastic for memory support and social interaction. The Wednesday Lads who Latte mornings, where games and conversations help recall memories while partners have a space to talk and support each other, seem incredibly valuable as well. It's great to know that these meetings offer such a positive and supportive environment for everyone involved
