My mum has been in Walton Manor for 5 years in March 25. She is looked after brilliantly by all the excellent staff. The care home is always clean and today. A good choice of meals which the chef will ask all residents what they prefer. Staff consistently organising events and medical staff act promptly
when required. The administrator is always happy to help as is also the caretaker. All in all, a fantastic team.

My dad has been a resident for the last year and I cannot fault the care this home provides. All the staff and management are lovely and attentive, they work really hard and nothing is too much trouble, keeping us updated if any issues.
Nice to see the activities they do with all the residents and
being able to see on social media means I can still see him even when I don't visit. I feel I can relax knowing he is well looked after as he always seems contented.
They also have lots of parties, his social life is better than mine .. haha!
It was a big decision having to move Dad into residential care but probably one of the best we have made as a family.

I cannot give any negative feedback with regard to my experience at Hillside Care Home. This applies to day of administration through to day of discharge. The level of care received was impeccable. On arrival I was very anxious and depressed but the care and compassion I was treated with quickly put
me at ease. Which in turn gave me the confidence to do what was needed to help with my rehab.

I visited my relative on 14th of January 2025; I was shocked at the fact that the room wreaked of urine. My relative had a thin sheet covering his face, he was cold, deeply depressed, lonely, felt humiliated by comments made by certain members of staff, the smart tv was impossible to access as he has
severe sight loss. The room is bland and very gloomy, no visual or sensory stimulation. Social care is very limited. Physiotherapy? Occupational therapy? I saw no evidence.

Hillside Care Home staff are amazing, they have continuously provided a high level of care for my mum and allow her to have dignity despite her condition. We know our mum is safe and feels secure. My mum has been here for about three and a half years. We have always thought that this home is excellent and have recommended it to several people we know. Mum is content, well fed and her room is always clean and tidy. All the staff work extremely hard, my dad and I spend a lot of time with Mum, and
they never stop. the home smells nice and all the staff are very friendly.

What an abhorrent place for the elderly. This place lacks compassion, empathy, dignity, and respect, and as for the staff, sheer lack of professionalism. The manager is just as bad, she refuses to acknowledge any complaints. I was wondering where the staff get their training from as their moving and
handling skills are all atrocious. A la carte menu, chips egg and beans or they change to sausage, sausage roll or pie, chips and beans. These are elderly people, not children. The rooms are a disgrace, dirty, outdated, paint peeling off the woodwork, marks all over the walls. As for care, well there is none. My mother has had 2 showers and a bath in 12 weeks, the rest of the time it's a wash. Her hair never gets brushed by staff, they use nighttime catheter bags during the day so they don't have to keep emptying it. I could say more but I will finish with this place needs closing down for good.

My sister was a resident of Simonfields Anfield. She was 95 years old when she passed peacefully away. Her time in Simonfields was 8 months. From entering Simonfields I felt my sister was in the perfect place. The care she received was more than I expected, from the manager, through to all the staff
was a step beyond the best I could ever have expected.
The residents have recreation, entertainment, fun, celebrating every event, such as Valentine's Day, creating hearts, cards and homemade decorations. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We have expressed severe concerns to the home itself and to the CQC. My parents did not receive good standards of care. There was no toilet first approach and both were left in soiled pads or not hoisted onto the commode; food was delivered on my mother's chest when she was supine, even balanced on
a towel (it was not mechanically possible to eat it); there is no privacy or safety with residents freely wandering in and out of rooms (and one incident with a male resident in my mother's room was even more disturbing). Staff refer to residents as "her" and "she" and were often belligerent. My parents did not have proper bed coverings and dirty pads would be found left in the room. Also having been told I did not need to input my car registration into a machine by the staff admin I am being chased with debt collectors for parking fines for simply visiting my parents - so beware. The CQC rating for this home does not mirror our experience which was absolutely dreadful and deeply concerning.

The claims you have made in this review were, as you say, raised with the CQC and your parent's social workers, who reviewed the care your parents received and the home's practices and found no substance to the allegations. Our management teams constantly reinforce our care protocols, privacy and safety measures, and strict cleaning protocols. I must apologise for the inconvenience regarding the parking which has now been resolved.

My husband was a resident at Walton Manor for a whole year and during that time had the best care from the staff who looked after him. He was unable to speak but always had conversations with his carers. The chef always consulted him on his choices for meals. He felt included. They have a great entertainment
programme and residents love to get involved in singing and having a dance. The home manager gave the best leadership to a fantastic caring group of staff, many of whom have worked there for many years. The home is a little worn around the edges, but spotlessly clean, I used the sniff test on a daily basis. All in all, I trusted them to look after my husband, who I cared for at home for 10 years. I know that says it all.
