My Mum had to go into full time care as a resident in Cumbernauld Care Home her entry to the home was first class I felt completely reassured after just a couple of weeks. My mum has been a resident now for 13 months and she has settled down well even calling it home sweet home. The Manager has been
wonderful with me and gave great care and support. The staff are all caring not just with physical needs but with emotional needs , showing effect ion and genuine care. Entertaining the residents has no limits. They had two miniature ponies in and the residents really had fun. My mum had her first birthday there last year and the catering staff even made her a birthday cake. If your looking for a care home please take a look at Cumbernauld Care Hime I couldn't recommend it enough, actually I will take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to the Manager and her staff for all they have done to not only care for and support my mum but have been very kind and helpful to me.

Having a parent in a care home is tough going for any family. My dad was at Highfield hall for almost 4 years. The team are caring and compassionate, and the key ingredient is a wonderful lady called Michelle Southern who leads the team. She provided us with reassurance, guidance, empathy, professionalism
and support through numerous health issues. She always knew and understood all my dad's health care needs, always seeking ways to improve life for my dad. She looked after me and my sister at every step of the way. It was clearly evident that all the team look to a particular member of staff for guidance and with good reason.
My dad's key carer was the most compassionate, caring person I have ever met. My dad's eyes lit up when she came in the room. She shared funny stories and treated my dad so beautifully. Sometimes it is the little gestures that made the biggest difference in the world.
Thank you for making us feel part of a family in the last days of my dad's life. Forever grateful.

Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. We are deeply touched by your kind words and are so grateful to have had the privilege of caring for your dad. I could not be more than happy with the care my wife has received since becoming a resident at Highfield. I always feel a family atmosphere in the home, to me I have peace of mind knowing my wife's is safe, well fed and her dignity is well respected. Highfield is clean all throughout the building, the
staff are very friendly and helpful if I have any questions regarding my wife's care. The home has great entertainment getting the residents to join in where possible, from days out, to inhouse entertainment. She has been settled in Highfield from day one which speaks volume for the home. Thanks to everyone, I know how hard you work to make Highfield a safe and happy place for the residents and families when they visit their loved ones.

Benholm Care Home

from Judith G (Daughter of Resident) published on 7 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I am the daughter of a Benholm Care Home resident and, having previously had my mum in care at another home, I am filled with gratitude every time I think of her being in Benholm. My mum has dementia and my worst fear when choosing a care facility was that she would be left to simply fade away. I wanted
her to be cared for and ultimately, to be happy. And thankfully, it seems that she is in the perfect place. There is no fear of her being neglected or suffering from lack of stimulation. The management team are exceptional. The staff are kind, compassionate, positive and enthusiastic. The home itself is beautiful and exceptionally clean. The food is excellent. And the activities are beyond my expectations.
Benholm, to me, is the dream home for anyone in need of residential care. Again, the staff are incredibly caring towards my mum and she is happy and considers Benholm home, which is a huge relief. Over and above this, the staff extend their care to include relatives and I always feel welcome.

My husband has been in the dementia unit for over 2 years. His complaint has got worse in that time but I feel he would be helped if staff could sit in the lounge sometimes and talk to the residents. I am aware that they are busy but talking to the residents is important.
He has had an awful lot of
his clothes lost, including slippers, T-Shirts, socks, jumper and worst of all his teeth have gone missing. I regard this as careless and have talked to the manager about it on more than one occasion. She is very understanding and has put measures in place to try to stop this happening.
The home has improved since new management took over, in cleanliness and decorations. Also the atmosphere is friendly and approachable.
