It was a difficult decision for my parents to go into care due to dementia. They both ended up in Monson about six months ago. The thing that stands out the most is the genuine care, dignity and respect of the management and staff. You can tell that they truly care for their residents and they are always
prepared to go the extra mile. The everyday kindness is ever present. Furthermore the management are very responsive in contact with families and both provide information and answer questions very quickly. Big thanks to the special and exceptional staff of Monson!!

Reply from Charli Angeloni, Deputy Manager at Monson Care Home

Thank you very much for those kind words, It has been a pleasure getting to know your whole family and caring for your parents. I will ensure this review is passed over to the team. We do pride ourselves on the high standards of care we deliver and appreciate your kind comments.

From first walking into Stoneswood to make enquiries I was made to feel so welcome, I know after the visit this is the best place I wanted my uncle to come and I've not been disappointed.
The level of care has been outstanding.
All the staff are absolutely amazing. It just feels like one big happy
family. I really enjoy my visits and my uncle loves it and has settled really well.

I have experience of a number of care homes and Monson is by far the best in all aspects, a very welcoming home, with friendly and efficient staff. The home always looks clean and well-organised. There is always something going on to keep the residents entertained.
Communication with the team is always
good and very prompt, both by phone call and email. The staff are always happy to discuss any issues when I visit.
The most noticeable thing about the home is how calm the environment is, in comparison to other care homes.
I would not hesitate to recommend Monson to other people wanting short or long-term care.

Thank you so much for your review and the kind words said. We are glad that all our hard work has not gone unnoticed. Our teams work tirelessly to ensure that our home is welcoming, clean and well-organised.

The staff are very helpful. My partner needs lots of help, he has deteriorating motor skills and they accommodate his needs very well. He suffers from Lewy bodies dementia and gets very confused but the staff are kind, helpful and pleasant. They understand his needs and look after him very well. I completed
an Social Services review with him recently and his responses showed he is happy with the standard of care. He is well fed and enjoys the food. It has taken a long time (he is not really a mixer) but he seems to have made a friend.

It's a very welcoming home from when you arrive at reception. The home and gardens are well looked after, clean and welcoming. My aunt is well cared for in every respect. She is treated with respect, and dignity at all times by all the staff, they are kind and caring at all times. She is allowed to
wander around the home all day if she wishes never being told or pressured to sit down. She is now eating much better than she was at home and is happy in her own world.
The food is good with plenty of choice for the residents and they are given this choice which is very important. There are snacks available at all times in the dining room for the residents to access all day. As she wanders so much I was happy to see a pressure mat at the side of her bed that will alert staff if she gets out of bed or falls in the night. The staff have always been polite and respectful whilst caring for the residents and use the appropriate equipment when necessary.

Generally care is good and residents are encouraged to join in social activities, but, my mother-in-law rarely takes part in these organised activities even when we are present. She subsequently does not have anything to fill her time as she is reliant on one to one communication, mainly from family.
I would like more advice from staff. I feel she may need a keyworker, but am not sure whether she merits one as she is presently quiet mobile and independent.

Reply from Alana Brereton, Hospitality Manager at Stoneswood

Thank you for your feedback, we will be in touch directly regarding the keyworker scheme, which we are currently trialling at other homes within the group. We agree it would be beneficial for all residents and is something we're open to rolling out as soon as possible.

We looked at a number of homes before choosing Inwood for our dad. We wanted him to be somewhere homely, welcoming, safe and caring and where we could visit freely and all feel at home. Inwood is just what we wanted! Although dad was only resident for a few months before he passed away, dad was really
well cared for and mum welcomed to visit and be part of the Inwood family. The home is bright, clean and cheerful and the staff are person centred, treating each resident as an individual.

My mum has been a resident at Monson since July.
It is a hidden gem in the area. I was instantly struck by how lovely the spacious en-suite bedroom was and the hotel vibe of their restaurant and spacious lounge.
All the staff are so caring and friendly from the reception team through to the senior
team and manager.
As a family, it was a difficult decision to make to find a home for my mum who was struggling with bereavement and dementia. But I am constantly saying how lucky we were to find this one!
A special shout out to one of the ladies who is the most amazing activities co-ordinator!
Thank you
Jackie

My dad has been here for 4 weeks for emergency respite. He leaves tomorrow, so I wanted to let people know about this care home. Anyone who rates this facility any less than 5 stars is not seeing what I have. As a carer I have worked in some homes that I wouldn't want my dogs in nevermind parents. From
the first day there were several staff members that came and welcomed my dad. Took him to his own room. This room was immaculate. The care and dedication the staff give to each and every individual in their care is second to none. They are very friendly to us visitors too and can me and my brother a meal so we could eat with our dad which was such a lovely touch. I loved seeing activities taking place and how well everyone took part. I highly recommend this care facility. To all the staff, including cooks, cleaners and the washing team thank you so much for everything you have all done, to contribute to my dad being able to come home.

It has been a lovely place for mum taking the stress out of everyday living whilst she got better and stronger. Beautiful room, building, bright and cheerful, very clean in every area and friendly, professional staff. (special note for staff in the office and reception). Mum has loved the food and has

My dad went into Walton Manor when Mum had a fall. He has dementia and cannot cope on his own. The staff were amazing, helping him to settle in. He is now there permanently and is so much more content than when he lived at home. He has much more social contact as well as activities available. The staff
pick up much quicker if he gets a water infection but he now drinks more so we have less issues.
Overall Dad is in better health and more content now at Walton Manor. The staff are very friendly and caring. We are delighted with his care.

Both my Mum and Dad were at Inwood House from 2018, my Dad passed away in 2022 aged 96 and my Mum in February 2024 aged 99. Since they moved in they both enjoyed their time there, my Dad was always very enthusiastic about the food. I visited regularly and the staff, many of whom recognised me and were
always kind and helpful and went out of their way to make the visit meaningful for everyone. Before I chose Inwood House for my Mum, she had been discharged into other homes and when I visited, she usually pleaded for me to take her out. At Inwood the facilities were nice and the staff ratio meant my parents got the attention and interaction when they needed or wanted it, the staff all knew them personally by name. If my time comes when I need caring for I hope I can some somewhere like Inwood House.
