My mum came into Amber View Care Home in August 2024 aged 98, she has dementia, it wasn't an easy decision as Mum wanted to stay at home. I cannot emphasise how much care and compassion she is receiving and it was actually the right decision at the right time. Everyone who works here is very kind and
caring not only to Mum but to me and the rest of my family. Words cannot express my gratitude to all concerned in Mum's continuing care.

My dad was a resident of Amber View for 4 months following a stay in hospital. He was then unable to return to his own home.
He settled well into the home, where all the staff welcomed him and gave him excellent care and attention.
His condition worsened and because the staff knew him well they had
him admitted to hospital. He eventually returned to Amber View for end-of-life care. The staff attended to all his needs and treated him with respect and care until he passed away.
They also gave us, as a family support and care throughout the time.

My mum spent the last 18 months of her life at Amber View where her care was exemplary. All the staff went above and beyond with her care which made those 18 months so happy for her. Her family all felt reassured that she was safe and well looked after and we are so grateful.

My mother was in the care home after her hip operation for about 2 weeks and the staff were absolutely lovely to both my mother and my husband and I when we visited. There was a lovely variety of meals to choose from every day. The room my mother was in was clean and airy and while she was there she
had her nails painted by the staff and also her hair done. During her stay they also organised a D-Day celebration the home was decorated up lovely and a lady came in to sing which my mother fully enjoyed.
Thank you to everyone at Amber View.

As soon as we looked at Carden Bank we knew it was the right place for my father-in-law, who has dementia.
The friendly welcome from the manager and the staff and the feeling of being at home rather than a care facility.
The staff are lovely and we are very happy with all aspects of his care.
Thank
you to the manager and her fabulous team.

My mum didn’t want to go into a care home, but she couldn’t cope at home any more. She wasn’t eating or drinking properly and couldn’t look after herself. The decision was extremely difficult for me and my family, as it was not what she wanted, but it was the best decision we ever made. Since being
at Carden Bank my mum eats all of her food, drinks a lot more, and has constant attention and company. The carers are great, constantly checking the welfare of all the residents, bringing them cups of tea, chatting and interacting with them, and looking after their every need. I cannot fault the home at all. I’ve seen a great change in my mum for the better. I’m really happy about everything and I know my mum is safe and happy in there.

My mum has dementia and it was with a heavy heart that I decided to place her into care. I looked at a few care homes and decided on Carden Bank and in my view I definitely made the right choice. All the staff show compassion, are very caring and treat my mum with dignity and respect. They also care
about the resident's families, providing me with much-needed support when I most needed it. Was it the right decision to place Mum at Carden Bank? Most definitely yes, as she receives the best possible care. A big thank you to all staff, you're brilliant.

Provided good care to my wife and looked after her very well. They kept her nicely dressed and kept her well-fed with a good variety of meals. They made me very welcome when I went to visit her. They certainly on the sad day of my wife's passing took care of everything and even sent two officials to
my wife's funeral which gave me the chance to thank them again for all they have done.

My Dad has advanced Vascular Dementia and it became too difficult to care for him at home.
This care home was so understanding of the situation and the problems we encountered, Dad moved in with minimal fuss and was made so welcome in the relaxed caring and supportive environment. Since being there
he has flourished, has new friends and company whenever he wants it, good food and readily available attention from carers whenever needed, they are always visible and approachable.
The manager is an absolute star and the team are wonderful.
It's not always important what a place looks like it's the heart of it that matters, and this home has a fabulous heart.
Well done to them all.

The lovely staff at Amber View took great care of my dad when he had a stay here between leaving hospital and going home.
Meals were tasty and plentiful, and Dad was encouraged to eat which helped loads! The home seemed very clean throughout. Room warm and comfortable, and different sitting areas for
TV, chatting etc.
Visiting was easy and there is plentiful parking on the quiet street behind the home. Visiting pets were also made welcome, which was a lovely touch.
Thank you to all at Amber View for your kind care.

Our sister (who has special needs) has been a resident at Carden Bank Care Home for a number of years now and we would like to express our gratitude for the care she is receiving. She is very happy being there and it is good to have the peace of mind of knowing that she is being well looked after. The
level of care given to our sister has, and continues to be, outstanding, with staff going to great lengths to cater for our sister's every need. We cannot praise the management and staff enough.

Carden Bank Care Home is homely, clean and comfortable and is perfect for my dad who has dementia. He has lived there for over a year now and the staff are always kind, friendly and very caring and, most importantly, he is treated with dignity and respect. Relatives are warmly welcomed and we are kept
up to date with Dad's care plan. Dad often comments on how lovely the food is and how the staff make him laugh.
I am confident that my dad is safe and well looked after in a caring and friendly environment.

I have found Carden Bank Care Home a very caring place when my mother first arrived. They were very welcoming and settled my mother very quickly. The manager was very good and explained everything in detail to us which put our minds at rest. Further to that, the staff are very helpful and always got
time for any one-to-one conversations. She always looks forward to her excellent meals.
Many thanks to the management and staff, we know Mum is safe and secure.

Amber View Care Home

from Wendy M (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 December 2022
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mum spent the last year of her long life in the care of staff at Amber View after being admitted direct from hospital in November 2021 when she could no longer manage at home. Mum found it difficult to accept the change but with patience and understanding, she soon settled. The care and support she
received from all staff was second to none. Staff were always completely honest during my phone calls. This was important to me as I live 300 miles away and couldn't visit often but when I did we were made most welcome. We became one big happy family and I was able to relax when her end of life became apparent and I couldn't get there in time as I knew she would have someone constantly with her. Amber View is the kind of care home I would like for myself if I ever need it.

My aunt was a resident here for just over a year. I cannot put into words how amazing the staff are here, they go above and beyond to make sure the residents and their families are cared for and looked after to the highest standard, they become your family. When my aunt first went into residential care
I was filled with guilt, that feeling very quickly subsided when I met the staff there, they did a better job than I ever could have and gave her a great quality of life in her final year. She loved it and constantly praised them, smiling until the end. Five-star treatment.

Review of

Nethermoor Care Home

from Russ S (Son of Resident) published on 6 October 2022
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I have nothing but praise for Nethermoor. My father went in initially for respite as he had deteriorated quickly with Alzheimer's and had worryingly lost weight.
The hardest decision to make was when I realised he needed help and support 24/7, the team at Nethermoor supported me and they did just that.
The care and welcome he received to help him settle was astounding. Prior to him going into Nethermoor he couldn't recall anything, his family, where he lived, and seemed not to have any interest or involvement with anyone, which was so upsetting to see. Within a few days, he was laughing, and singing and began to recall his younger days and for the first time in 3 years spoke proudly about his love and the happy times he enjoyed with his wife, (who had sadly passed away 3 yrs ago). He has gained weight, eats and drinks well and his complexion and smile have returned. This is only down to the personal care, time and dedication of a wonderful team of staff. So a massive heartfelt Thank you.

My relative was discharged from hospital to the Jacksdale care home on 14th of May. He was afforded the greatest respect and a high standard of care. The staff were attentive and showed genuine kindness and concern. The staff were approachable and friendly. He had experienced a particularly awful experience
on the ward he had been admitted to on April 16th, the lack of care, understanding, and poor communication was concerning, to say the least. He received a warm welcome to the home and we as his family are very grateful for that. Thank you sincerely to all staff.

My father was in Amber View Care Home for just over two weeks after having had a fall and breaking a bone in his pelvis, I cannot put into words how absolutely fantastic all the staff were, the care my father received was excellent nothing was ever to much trouble and the staff could not have done more
if they tried and from personal experience did more than they had to, the staff actually felt like my friend when I visited rather than a staff member. I will always be so grateful to all the staff for the way they cared for my dad and again cannot thank each and every one of them for everything you did for my dad.
You are all truly very special people.

My mother spent the last six months of her long life at Amber View. Throughout her stay, she was treated with the utmost care, patience, compassion, and respect. Her care was tailored to her individual needs and I could not be more grateful to all the staff for the way she was looked after. The staff
were proactive in the latter stages of my mother’s life to make sure she was comfortable at all times. The staff have always been very welcoming and very willing to answer any questions or queries. I am grateful that mum spent her last few months at Amber View; I do not live locally but after visiting I could leave knowing she was in safe and caring hands.
