Mum has been a resident for over 2 years now. She is safe, cared for and loved. Staff clearly care for all residents and treats them with respect. They show the same care and concern to relatives and friends too. Priesty Feilds has a real community feel to it. I enjoy visiting Mum and chatting with
other residents. I leave knowing that Mum will be looked after.

Respite care only. Priesty Fields was chosen as first impressions were that it wasn't like I expected a care home to be. It was clean, bright and welcoming and no 'smell'. Mum was cared for as best able due to her mobility. She did say that the buzzer was not answered when she needed someone. She didn't
eat very well but that was not entirely unusual as she could be quite picky at times. Having been approached by the nurse hopefully that can be remedied. All the staff seemed to be very friendly and approachable. We hope to have future respite placements.

Dad is well cared for and the home is well presented and clean. He participates in the activities on offer and socialises with others - which is a huge positive, as he never used to at his previous setting.
It would be of benefit to him if the length of his nails were addressed more frequently (as
he doesn't like having long nails).
It would also help to have a consistent point of contact/key worker who could let me know if Dad needs toiletries bringing in. Or we could effectively investigate/follow up physio or OT requests with etc.

The home is a modern well equipped residence with good quality rooms, kind and considerate staff the food is of variable quality although is being improved. Activities within the home appear limited especially in the area of trips outside the home.

Care good but sometimes hard to find when you need them.
Excellent entertainment and partys, staff tries hard to stimulate the residents and will dance with the residents. Some really good carers who hug and kiss my wife. I'm very impressed.

Since my mom has been at Fleetwood Hall she has been happy and content. I therefore have peace of mind she is safe in her home environment. The care afforded to her is excellent and it is evident that her basic needs are catered for. The staff have a great understanding of her care needs, evident both
on a practical basis and with her care plan.
I am blessed that Mum is in a care home, that has a high standard of care and therefore the staff here should be commended for this as they define the ethos of a high standard of care, treating residents with both dignity and respect.

I can only recommend the care home to everyone. I went there for rehab after a fall and surgery. I could not walk at first but with the help of the physio's I am now walking and home.
Regarding the rest of the staff they are the greatest, kind, professional and would do anything for you. The food
is good and varied, always meat and veggie option.
The activities staff work very hard, trying to find new things for the residents to do.
Sunday is baking day and we had fun, not always successful. My stay was very successful.

The ratings in the boxes are too limited to give an accurate report, as I would not leave my husband in a care home that did not meet my standards. For example, most of the regular staff are good but there are too many agency staff and some of them do not appear to speak English. There is a new manager
who deserves a chance to put things right. The chef is also new, we are self-funding, at approx £1350 per week, which is why I consider it not value for money.

My wife has now been a resident for almost 12 months. The care staff are excellent, but there is still far too much reliance on agency staff! I sincerely hope and trust that the new management will rectify this. The argument that they cannot afford to pay more is nonsense if they pay agency costs. Unfortunately,
the standard and quality of meals is way below what it was and what is advertised! However, the care given is first class and nothing is too much trouble, dealt with in a warm and friendly manner. Overall, Priesty Fields Care Home has my recommendation.

The Oaks Care Home

from Chris H (Son of Resident) published on 5 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I can wholeheartedly recommend The Oaks
The fabric of the building (and the rooms ) is fresh and modern and generally kept in excellent order ( full marks to all domestic staff).
But, as comforting as this is, it is people who care, and it is the staff who make a care home.
The friendly, helpful
and empathetic staff at The Oaks help to make my Mother's residency there as pleasant and comfortable as can be, giving me peace of mind that she is being well looked after at all times.
Management, Carers, Kitchen staff, Domestic and Laundry staff are all so busy, but do their utmost to spend as much time with her as their demanding schedules will allow and all chat with Mum whenever they can which I greatly appreciate.
I am present almost every day, and can vouch that the level of care is of a consistently high standard.

Reply from Jennifer Roberts, Registered Manager at The Oaks Care Home

Thank you Chris for your lovely feedback which I will share with the team. It is our pleasure to be in a position to provide your Mum with the care and support she requires and working with you and your family on a daily basis clearly has developed really positive relationships and your involvement has been key. The feedback is really helpful for individuals looking for services for their loved one so thank you for taking the time to submit this.

Overall, very good with very caring and permanent staff but too much use of agency staff. Lunch varies but usually satisfactory. I cannot comment on breakfast or evening meal. Security is almost too good with access to both building, lifts and stairs coded which is very inconvenient.

Priesty Fields Care Home has become mum's home, we as a family don't see it as a care home, it's more than that. Every member of staff there treat mum like family, so kind, caring and compassionate. This gives us peace of mind that mum is safe and looked after. Any issues or concerns that arise they

Amazing staff. Friendly and go out of their way to support residents and family alike.
As a family, we feel that Mum has settled in remarkably well and all her needs are catered for.
You can't put a value on leaving mum after every visit and reassured she is safe.

My nan went into the care home, 2 weeks ago sadly losing her fight with cancer the staff were amazing, nothing was ever too much trouble couldn't ask for better people to take care of my nana. Sadly 7th Feb she lost her fight dying peacefully in her sleep, after the death of my nan, the staff were amazing
with my mum they couldn't support her enough! And they supported my mum to the very end, I wouldn't recommend a better care home for my elderly person or someone who needs support living or around the clock care.
