I had to place my godmother in respite care pre-surgery due to falls at home. How lucky to find The Lodge Care Home had a room and within hours she was safe, an incredibly positive, professional and technically competent company with high standards. Genuinely caring staff who go 'over and above' all
expectations to make her comfortable and supported (and they provide fun!). The Lodge has a real buzz about the place and being December it is like a winter wonderland beautifully decorated. Never a dull moment with all the range of activities on offer. What a gem in the heart of South Shields.

The staff are polite and very welcoming. The residents are well cared for and their needs are attended to the staff arranges different activities for the residents who appear to enjoy them. I have no problem leaving my husband in their care because I am informed straight away if he needs medical attention
or if any small mishap has occurred.

My mum has been living in The Lodge for about a year now and she loves it and the staff. They are always friendly and attentive. The rooms are always clean and mum loves the food. I would recommend The Lodge if you or a loved one is in need of care in a warm and friendly environment.

The family were very pleased with my relative's care. At times he was a difficult resident to deal with but the staff persevered with him always tending to his needs and adopting different approaches in managing his needs.
The home feels like a family environment and the staff make a significant contribution
to that.

My father has been at The Lodge for almost 2 years now. He thinks of the staff as his family. The home is very clean the staff are very friendly and nothing seems to phase them. My father is very well cared for. The staff from domestic, maintenance, carers, management and administration are all caring
and love the residents. I am extremely pleased with the care my father is given.

Totally in awe of how amazing our visit to The Lodge was on Friday.
It was so clean (and didn’t smell of anything I’d have expected - it was all fresh and clean).
The residents’ doors all have names on and all staff we saw addressed everyone gently by name. All the staff were respectful and kind
to anyone we met as we were being shown to the room. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff- we asked for a vase and they went to find one yet they were clearly busy. The resident we were visiting was clearly well cared for.

I cannot speak more highly of the genuine care and concern shown when my Dad was failing in health, particularly the lady who explained her concerns to me or brother and liaised with the GP to ensure end-of-life arrangements and medication was discussed and put in place. Dad died (quite surprisingly)
shortly within a few days without pain and surrounded by caring staff. Their support in his last days and to us was so caring. Dad enjoyed his time, treating his stay like a hotel. The strict Covid rules robbed us of precious years and his 80th birthday with only me being allowed in his room.

Staff are very kind, dedicated and hardworking. They always have time for my mam. The food is excellent and the rooms are nice. My mam is always nicely dressed and clean, her hair is smart and tidy. The staff made a beautiful cake for her birthday and provided some party food, more activities would
be appreciated however. Mam has settled well and the other residents are lovely. Overall, very pleased with Elizabeth Fleming Care Home. Staff are very caring and polite towards the relatives too, very supportive.

Very happy with the way my mother is looked after. Staff are great, very helpful in everything asked of them. There is always someone cleaning or washing floors. The rooms are good and well-fitted.

I'm over the moon with my dad's care. He has settled in well. Staff are amazing with him. I know he is well cared for and that makes me so happy as my dad is my world. I want to say a big thank you to all the staff; carers, domestic, laundry and kitchen, as all of these contribute to my dad's well being.

Since my mother-in-law entered The Lodge, she's been treated with care, support and consideration under very difficult circumstances as my mother-in-law has, at times, been very challenging, but their care and support have never wavered. The staff have also been kind and supportive to my husband and
myself. The place is well run and very clean with hardworking and very pleasant staff. I've nothing but praise for them for doing a very difficult job.

This home is ok. I came twice a week to visit. The major problem is the staff. Some staff are amazing and will bend over backwards. There is one staff member here who is constantly on her phone and ignores the residents. She has a duty of care and ignores this. Care does depend on which staff is on!

My mam's been in the Elizabeth Fleming for almost a year now. The staff treat her like family; they are all so kind and welcoming to my family. The meals are very appetising, and the rooms are clean and warm. I have no concerns whatsoever. I cannot praise the staff enough for the care, respect and love
