Fabulous care home. The facility is beautiful and spotlessly clean. The manager is efficient and professional and the staff are fantastic with the service users. They treat them like family.
There is a wonderful activity coordinator, who works hard to ensure there is always plenty going on. The regularly
have events that family and friends can attend. The recent Tina Turner evening was a huge success with a professional singer and delicious buffet, enjoyed by all.
You can tell this is a very well run establishment. Good practice starts with the manager and runs throughout the facility.

The staff are polite and friendly. Rooms are clean with a rota showing date and times. Most meals are served in the room for my dad as he does not like to mix with the other residents, and has limited walking capacity. Dementia unit is secure with key pad entry/exit. Not that dad would be walkabout.

Langham Manor

When told we needed a nursing home for my mum it was a shock and a large undertaking to find one that we would be comfortable with and could cater for her changing needs as her health was going to deteriorate at an unknown pace. We vistited a few, some had wonderful views of the coast but were decorated
as though from the 1970's; others were newer but were tired. Then we went to Langham Manor in Stowmarket. Thankfully. The home benefits from several wings, each catering for specific needs, whether its residential, mildly confused or more serious health challenges. My mum had a good sized room, en suite and all was purpose built for its intended use, along with the rest of the facility. Staff are brilliant, and all the care assistants as well as the Medical staff and the housekeeping team too! Food was always fresh and plentiful, all the facilities were clean and welcoming. Only negative, is could do with more parking!

My mum joined Morar living at bridge of weir in February and I can't believe the change in our mum. The team have made us all feel so welcome and show so much care and respect for our mum. They really know how to bring the best out in our elderly parents and I am so impressed by the level of care
and attention they give to mum. I didn't want my mum in a home however the Morar team have put my mind at rest and gave me a chance to be a daughter again and not my mums carer. The pink ladies are amazing and the home manager and her team should be proud of what they do. Love to all

I cannot thank the staff at Morar Bridge of Weir enough for the exceptional care they have provided to my mum since she arrived. From day one, they made her feel so welcome, and the support they've given has been outstanding. The communication through the app has been incredibly reassuring for our family,
as it allows us to stay updated.
The cleanliness of the facilities is impeccable, and the entire environment is warm and inviting. The staff, from managers to domestic workers, have gone above and beyond to make mum feel comfortable and cared for. They've really taken the time to understand her needs and ensure she feels at home.
The activities they offer have been fantastic, giving mum the chance to socialize and stay engaged in a way that has made her feel more settled. It's such a relief knowing she's in a place where she feels at home. We are all so reassured by the excellent care, and I can't recommend this care home enough. Thank you all for your dedication and compassion

This is the second time my husband has been in respite care with Morar. He has an annual visit of three weeks while I visit my daughter abroad. He has Parkinsons' dementia and has had the very best of care on both of his
visits and this year was welcomed back by staff who remembered him from last year.
I found this so encouraging and reassuring as the staff are happy to be working for the company so avoiding constant turnover. He was visited by his sister in law regularly who was amazed at the constant activities which always involved him and which he was happy to be part of. To know that your husband is safe and in a very happy environment makes your time away such a precious space and time to recharge the batteries! I can't thank the staff enough and obviously am eternally grateful for the respite care which is now like gold dust.

My father was welcomed into Harbour House in March of this year, he was met with a very friendly and warm welcome which helped him feel safe and secure, this has been a frightening experience moving away from his home to somewhere he didn't know and he is slowly getting used to his surroundings. The
staff in Harbour House are all very kind and helpful, they seem very well trained in what they do and keep us informed on how he is.

Reply from Harbour House, Home Manager at Harbour House

Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. We understand how challenging and emotional it can be to transition into a new environment, especially after leaving the comfort of one's own home. We're truly glad to hear that your father felt welcomed and supported from the very beginning. Creating a warm, safe, and reassuring atmosphere is something we deeply value at Harbour House. Our team is committed to providing the highest standard of care, and it's heartening to know that their dedication and compassion are being felt by both your father and your family. Please know that we are here every step of the way as he continues to settle in and make Harbour House his home. If there's ever anything you need or any way we can further support him, don't hesitate to reach out.

Kincairney House

from Fiona O (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mum was admitted to Kincairney House for end of life care. Sadly she was not aware of her surroundings. My brothers had her room set up with personal effects. It was large, bright with a nice view and spotlessly clean. The ambience allowed us to feel as relaxed as we could while we sat with Mum. Staff
constantly checked up on us, offering meals, snacks and drinks. It was obvious they had taken the time to read up about Mum and sat and chatted about her past interests. The staff reminded me on several occasions that they were there for us at all times. They made us feel like they were family. Staff regularly excused me from the room to allow them to carry out personal care. All staff I happened upon were kind and respectful. Sadly, Mum passed in the morning of her fourth day as a resident but it was peaceful with her family by her side. Mum was treated with dignity and respect with the best care. It was all we had wanted for Mum and are full of gratitude.

We understand how difficult it is to face such moments, and it means the world to us that you felt supported, comforted, and cared for during your time here.We are especially touched to know that the room's atmosphere, the personal touches, and our team's attentiveness brought you a sense of peace. It's incredibly meaningful to us that we could offer not only comfort to your mum, but also to you and your family, and that our staff were able to honour her life and dignity in a way that resonated with you. Please know that your kind words will be shared with the whole team-they will mean so much to everyone who had the privilege of supporting your mum and your family.

I have found Townsend Manor Care Home a very nice place indeed. The staff are kindly - friendly and caring- nothing being too much trouble. Their patience is remarkable. It is a modern building with lots of facilities- more than i expected.
Sometimes when they are busy their are delays responding to
the call button- but when the emergency button is used they are there straight away.
i think it would given that nowhere is PERFECT Townsend Manor comes pretty close.
The food at Townsend Manor is very good and i would compare it to restaurant quality.

I was never sure how my mum would adapt to living within a care home environment after living in a house that was isolated , but with us having the ability and support from the home management we personalised her room with pictures and some furniture from home and we created her a tub garden outside
her door . Mum now has a real connection with the staff who look after her and her sense of humour can be quite infectious , she now very much feels at home at Townsend and has become very settled , she can never speak highly enough of the staff and the care and consideration they show to her , my sister and feel if we have an issue with anything we can talk to someone to resolve it

Escan Manor

from Jon R (Son of Resident) published on 14 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

My parents (who both have dementia) have been at Escan Manor since Aug/Sept 2024. My father was at another home in Exeter (rated close to 10*, with an "Outstanding" CQC) but they told us they could not deal with him any more - in particular his tendency to shout if he has an urgent need. Several other
care homes refused to take him. Escan Manor, by contrast, has done an excellent job of managing his needs. I also find the staff much friendlier than at the previous home. As for my mother, the home has worked hard to help her settle in, especially in light of her anxiety and confusion. There have been personnel changes, but I regularly see care staff that I've got to know from previous visits. The home is purpose-built, well designed and v.warm (both parents really feel the cold). Can't say it's all been perfect (e.g. admin/communication is v.poor) - but for me, the most important thing is the care, which in my experience has been very good.

We were invited as a family to take part in celebrations for Chinese New Year. The coffee lounge was nicely decorated in keeping with the theme and added to the event. The staff were very welcoming and we all enjoyed the food and entertainment. It was so special to see mum and dad (residents) joining
in with the singing and dancing in such a supportive environment. Congratulations to the staff who worked hard and gave their time to make the evening a success.

Townsend Manor

To put Mum into the care of all at Townsend Manor was the hardest decision of our lives and the guilt we feel has been overwhelming. But we have been reassured by the manager and her team, who have shown nothing but kindness and professionalism towards our Mum and indeed our family that we now know
this is the right move for Mum. The care staff are all amazing and we have seen them many times now encouraging and interacting with residents, and you feel they genuinely care and love their profession - they make a difference!
The home is clean and well cared for, the food is exceptional and we love the coffee shop area, where tea and cake with Mum feels like a treat. There are numerous activities planned during the week and it's a personal choice if residents choose to join in, but they are encouraged to and it's nice to see residents enjoying themselves.
There are areas that need improvement, but nothing in life is perfect, but this home is as near as you can get - a home from Home

The Care team at Tantallon House are amazing. They keep us updated about Mum's care and every time that we visit it is clear that they have a good interactive relationship with her.
She is happy and feels.."At Home!!"
it is like being in a Five Star Hotel.
