We are extremely happy that our mother is being looked after in a lovely, homely setting which has lovely views across to the hills. As a family we can relax knowing she is safe and is being cared for by a dedicated team of carers who ensure her needs are met sensitively. From the minute you walk through
the door you are made to feel welcome, everyone is kind and friendly and everywhere is spotlessly clean.

Dad has been a resident at Croft Avenue since March 2021. He gets on well with the staff and feels his needs are being met. Neither my dad or I have any negative comments to say about Croft Avenue. His room is always clean & tidy and the staff are always friendly & positive.
Only concern is the lift
to first floor is always out of order & on one occasion, my dad had to use the stairs, he has very poor mobility.

Reply from Kim Rogerson, Director at Croft Avenue Care Home

Thankyou for taking the time to leave a review. I am so pleased that both yourself and your dad are happy with Croft Avenue. I completely understand your frustration regarding the lift. The lift has a full service and repair contract but the contractors are currently waiting for a replacement part. Please be assured that we have a stair lift available for use at any time.

Kingsfield Residential Care Home

from P H (Respite Resident) published on 4 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Our experience with Kingsfield Care Home was truly outstanding. The care workers were exceptionally kind, compassionate, and supportive, consistently going above and beyond to ensure our family member felt comfortable and well cared for during his respite stay. It was clear that the team had taken the
time to get to know him personally, which gave us great confidence in the level of care and attention he received. He felt safe, valued, and very much at home-so much so that he was reluctant to leave. He speaks very fondly of his time at Kingsfield and has already expressed a strong desire to return. He particularly enjoyed the activities on offer and often shares how much he liked taking part. We are deeply grateful to the Kingsfield team for making his stay so enjoyable and meaningful. Thank you!

I can't say how much I appreciate Greenlane care home. I had twelve recommendations and I can now understand why. My husband has been here for 3 months and the care is excellent. All the carers make you feel special and the managers always make time to help you. The home is bright, clean and cheery
and I would like to thank the owners for providing such a lovely home for our elderly residents.

I have been really impressed with the physical and emotional care for my husband by many staff members. He is helped to wash and dress and when I took him to the dentist, the dentist commented on how much cleaner his teeth were than on previous visits. Also that in his experience this was not usually
the case with care home residents. Members of staff remember about his obsession with football and talk with him about Tottenham Hotspur. Seniors try to offer the best for his condition.

My mum was sent to Inglewood from the hospital. She was there for 2 weeks then got a phone call to say she was taken to hospital in the night. I went to visit her and she told me the manager was trying to rush her. She replied I can't rush I have bad legs and she is very unstable on her feet. So I said
to my mum I will find out what is going on. But the next day my mum passed away in hospital. Still trying to sort the funeral out not have much time to find out what went on when she was in Inglewood. Hopefully, be able to sort things out when my mum is laid to rest.

Dad has only been at Croft Avenue for 2 weeks. In that time we can see he is being cared for by a team of dedicated carers who put the residents first. They have made him feel welcome in a calm, friendly, relaxed way. There is laughter, fun and above all a sense of humour, which dad has responded to
well. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit any requests we have are dealt with promptly and efficiently, nothing is too much bother! The food is very good, always plenty of choice. There is a good variety of activities available, we are so pleased to see dad is joining in. We as a family are extremely happy with the care dad is receiving. Thank you to all the staff at Croft Avenue.

Always welcome and everywhere is very clean. I don't think residents get enough showers and mum likes a bath really. The lift is often broken which makes it hard for mum as she doesn't like the stair lift. Always seems to be a problem with staffing, especially weekends. No manager at the moment.

Reply from Kim Rogerson, Director at Inglewood (Cumbria) Ltd

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We welcome all feedback and are always learning and looking for ways to improve. I am pleased that you find a warm welcome every time you are in the home and thank you for noting that everywhere is very clean. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness. We encourage families to be involved in the care planning of our residents, please mention this to the Manager or a member of staff next time you are in and we can organise this for you. It has been unfortunate that the lift broke and unfortunately we had to wait for the part to be delivered. We have a contract with a lift company who provide 24/7 support and as you say, we do have a stair lift as a back up, although I appreciate this may not be someone's preferred choice. I hope you have now met our new Manager, who is very experienced and has had a thorough handover from our Operations Manager who was based at the home during the recruitment process.

My grandad settled here really well very quickly. All the staff are caring towards him and always find the time to chat. He really likes the carers and his face lights up when they speak to him. There is always plenty to do entertainment wise and the food is fantastic. He is always eating great meals
and filled with plenty of tea and snacks during the day. The home is clean and well maintained. Overall a great place.

Mam has been living at Greenlane for almost 4 years and during this time her dementia, mobility and communication have declined greatly. The wonderful management and amazing staff have adapted her care and go above and beyond to make sure her every need is met. She is looked after with dignity and love
and I cannot say enough how grateful I feel that Mam is a resident at Greenlane House. Choosing a care home for a loved one is one of the hardest things, but I would wholeheartedly recommend Greenlane House.

My mam has been Greenlane coming up to 2 years now. Her dementia and mobility are progressing but her standard of care remains high. The staff are brilliant. She participates in a lot of activities especially music which she loves. We love the get-togethers with the families and have made some lovely
friends. Greenlane was definitely the right choice.
