The staff have been amazing since my mother in law came into the home for respite in December. They can't do enough for her or her family. The meals are by all accounts amazing, and the residents are always being offered drinks and treats. the rooms are always clean and appear comfortable.

Kingsfield Residential Care Home

This residential home is a potential accident waiting to happen.
Care Commission Report 2021 last visit comments stated there was an increased risk that people could be harmed. Safety gone from Good to Requires Improvement. My Mother in Law went to Kingsfield on 21st Oct 2024. The room was small and
required renovation due to wallpaper torn off the wall. Sat 9th Nov hit several times in the head and body by a dementia patient, no action taken by the police. Internal investigation after my concerns raised to the level of staffing on the day said that the Duty manager accepted her error in judgement covering for the absent cook. Thursday 21st Nov a fall in her room, paracetamol prescribed for the pain. Chest infection noted as well. Thursday 12th Dec admitted by district nurse to AMU unit due to flu, L3 fracture in lower spine and de-hydration due to the lack of liquids and chronic bed sores due to lack of attention. No wonder duty manager has left after 2 months in the role.

I have been really impressed with the physical and emotional care for my husband by many staff members. He is helped to wash and dress and when I took him to the dentist, the dentist commented on how much cleaner his teeth were than on previous visits. Also that in his experience this was not usually
the case with care home residents. Members of staff remember about his obsession with football and talk with him about Tottenham Hotspur. Seniors try to offer the best for his condition.

My mum was sent to Inglewood from the hospital. She was there for 2 weeks then got a phone call to say she was taken to hospital in the night. I went to visit her and she told me the manager was trying to rush her. She replied I can't rush I have bad legs and she is very unstable on her feet. So I said
to my mum I will find out what is going on. But the next day my mum passed away in hospital. Still trying to sort the funeral out not have much time to find out what went on when she was in Inglewood. Hopefully, be able to sort things out when my mum is laid to rest.

Dad has only been at Croft Avenue for 2 weeks. In that time we can see he is being cared for by a team of dedicated carers who put the residents first. They have made him feel welcome in a calm, friendly, relaxed way. There is laughter, fun and above all a sense of humour, which dad has responded to
well. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit any requests we have are dealt with promptly and efficiently, nothing is too much bother! The food is very good, always plenty of choice. There is a good variety of activities available, we are so pleased to see dad is joining in. We as a family are extremely happy with the care dad is receiving. Thank you to all the staff at Croft Avenue.

Always welcome and everywhere is very clean. I don't think residents get enough showers and mum likes a bath really. The lift is often broken which makes it hard for mum as she doesn't like the stair lift. Always seems to be a problem with staffing, especially weekends. No manager at the moment.

Reply from Kim Rogerson, Director at Inglewood (Cumbria) Ltd

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We welcome all feedback and are always learning and looking for ways to improve. I am pleased that you find a warm welcome every time you are in the home and thank you for noting that everywhere is very clean. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness. We encourage families to be involved in the care planning of our residents, please mention this to the Manager or a member of staff next time you are in and we can organise this for you. It has been unfortunate that the lift broke and unfortunately we had to wait for the part to be delivered. We have a contract with a lift company who provide 24/7 support and as you say, we do have a stair lift as a back up, although I appreciate this may not be someone's preferred choice. I hope you have now met our new Manager, who is very experienced and has had a thorough handover from our Operations Manager who was based at the home during the recruitment process.

My grandad settled here really well very quickly. All the staff are caring towards him and always find the time to chat. He really likes the carers and his face lights up when they speak to him. There is always plenty to do entertainment wise and the food is fantastic. He is always eating great meals
and filled with plenty of tea and snacks during the day. The home is clean and well maintained. Overall a great place.

Mam has been living at Greenlane for almost 4 years and during this time her dementia, mobility and communication have declined greatly. The wonderful management and amazing staff have adapted her care and go above and beyond to make sure her every need is met. She is looked after with dignity and love
and I cannot say enough how grateful I feel that Mam is a resident at Greenlane House. Choosing a care home for a loved one is one of the hardest things, but I would wholeheartedly recommend Greenlane House.

My mam has been Greenlane coming up to 2 years now. Her dementia and mobility are progressing but her standard of care remains high. The staff are brilliant. She participates in a lot of activities especially music which she loves. We love the get-togethers with the families and have made some lovely
friends. Greenlane was definitely the right choice.

Since my sister-in-law moved into Croft Avenue Care Home, she has got a new lease of life. Her days are filled with different activities, and she loves the garden. She has a nice clean rooms, loves the food, and the staff are great. Visitors are made very welcome too, when you walk in it has a nice
friendly atmosphere. Care homes haven't had good press lately, but I would recommend Croft Avenue 100%.

Always a pleasure coming to see neighbour. From the moment you step foot into Croft Avenue, the warmth and friendliness of the staff is wonderful. My neighbour continues to enjoy living here and now considers this her home. She continues to thrive. She loves the activities and helps the other residents
too. A few of us visit every week and even the other residents have chats with us. For anyone looking for a care home for relatives, this is definitely first rate.
