Overall Experience

My husband's care wasn't up to standard, he had an enteral feeding tube inserted and was never cleaned, always blocking, leading to hospital admission, but if staff had been trained properly they would have known what to do, just like myself/son knew what to do. He had three hospital admissions last

year due to the lack of care from Kingsland staff. I nearly lost him twice, I hope for other residents' sakes that they have all the relevant equipment working/up to standard. I don't know how the
RQIA didn't notice these faults. also, Larchwood was contacted on numerous occasions by myself/my son regarding things that were stolen out of my husband's room/things that were broken/never replaced.

Overall Experience

My mother has received such loving care always with dignity. The staff are very hard working with no grumbles. In my mother's final days she was made so comfortable and was cared for so closely. Her last breaths were so peaceful as a result. I will miss my visits as I got to know the staff well. They

also cheered. Me up when I was low. Thank you.

She was such a lovely lady, she enjoyed her chats, sweet treats, music and singing and her love of animals was evident as she had the brightest smile when your family dogs or our therapy dogs came to visit. It was our privilege to have been able to bring her home for her last days with you and her family - end of life care can be very difficult to navigate and at Kingsland both myself and all the staff seek to provide a holistic approach during this time ensuring a safe caring and comfortable environment for both the individual and their family. It is greatly appreciated to have that acknowledged in your review. She is dearly missed by us all here as are your visits too.

Overall Experience

My brother was a resident in Kingsland Care Centre for almost four years. during this time he was treated by kind, helpful and friendly staff who always has his best interests at heart. The nursing care was excellent and the GP was quickly informed when necessary and caution was always exercised. The

staff who organised activities were also excellent and had genuine care and developed strong relationships with my brother. They were very significant to him.

He had a wonderful way of caring for other residents around him and quick to let staff know if he believed someone needed some assistance. He took such pride in his appearance and was always so perfectly well dressed - suited and booted as he would say himself. He enjoyed a good chat with everyone - residents staff and visitors alike and he had a great affection for our activity coordinator. He got involved in all the activities when he was able and when he was no longer able they did Bible Study together which was very comforting for him in his last days with us. He is spoken about frequently and dearly missed by us all. Sincerely.

Overall Experience

Experience overall is good. Staff are always caring and considerate. However, due to their workload, they don't always get the chance to ensure that our family member has sufficient amounts of water/juice which can leave them thirsty. That said, we know that the care team are doing their best under

the circumstances. Generally, everything else is good and we very much appreciate the care given to our dad.

I appreciate that you acknowledge the workload that staff have and that they do indeed try their best to deliver the best possible care to each resident. Our residents are offered various fluids on 6 regular occasions through the day with their meals and with 3 tea trolleys mid-morning, mid-afternoon and at night. Access to further fluids should be facilitated if there is no fluid restriction in place. Ensuring adequate hydration is a simple basic requirement and something that we are working on as a team to improve across the home through staff education and ensuring easy access to fresh fluids is available daily for residents to utilise and for staff to assist with for those that require support. Please do not hesitate to come and speak with me to discuss any concerns you may have in relation to your father's care as it is important to me that they would be addressed.

Overall Experience

Kingsland staff, from day one of my mum arriving in June 2021, treated her so well. Everyone always put her needs first and made an unpleasant time into a much better one. Staff were always kind, caring and helpful and were always there for us as a family. I highly recommend Kingsland to anyone.

Overall Experience

As a family, we are very pleased with the level of care Mum has received since arriving at Kingsland. The rooms are clean and bright, and the level of attention with regard to hygiene is exemplary. The staff are friendly and capable and make every effort to ensure Mum's comfort and well-being. Although

she is unable to participate, there is a wide range of organised activities that adds to the homely atmosphere. In short, a professionally run and friendly care home.

Your mum is a pleasure to care for and, despite an unsettled beginning, appears so much more content now with accepting care and with her environment in general. We do our very best as a team to ensure our residents are cared for to the best of our ability. This includes everything from personal care, social engagement and dietary needs to the cleanliness of the resident's room and the home in general. Our activity coordinator strives to include all our residents taking time to do one-to-one sessions for those unable to participate in group activities. Your mum loves a good chat and enjoys seeing what I wear and to feel the fabric when I see her during the day. Her expression "health to wear it, strength to tear it and money to replace it" is lovely and one I had not heard before but will not forget. Overall Experience

Our mum arrived in Kingsland at the end of August for end-of-life care after being in hospital. Staff were really caring and worked so hard with Mum, even though her behaviour was very challenging everyone continued to be both kind and caring towards her. It was easy to form relationships with staff

which makes this situation so much easier. I would definitely recommend this home to friends and family who might find themselves in this situation.

Mum has been made to feel very welcome since arriving at Kingsland. Her room is clean and bright, the staff are friendly and caring and there is a great range of activities available. Mum has settled well, is enjoying the food and always looks cared for.

Overall Experience

Kingsland is a lovely home with spectacular surroundings. My mum has been in the home since July 2022 and has settled in really well. I am so pleased with the amount of activities that are available for Mum to get involved in, which are run by an amazing guy who all the residents love. He is so good

at his job. The manager is lovely and is always willing to listen and resolve any issues that we have to help make my mum's stay as happy and as comfortable as it can be.

Our Activity Coordinator is exceptional and works tirelessly to bring creative and stimulating activities into the daily lives of our residents. He has such a wonderful way with the residents it is no wonder they all love him. As the home manager, I believe a major part of my role is liaising with the family members of our residents to ensure that you are both happy and satisfied with the level of care they receive as well as working through and resolving any issues that arise. Overall Experience

The staff at Kingsland are professional in all areas of care.
They take time to assist Mum in any situation, have time to listen to needs and provide encouragement when required.
The staff have provided me with support when I have asked for advice in relation to Mum's care. They liaise with the

GP when required. The ethos from management to provide an excellent home is demonstrated across the home.

Overall Experience

Mum came to Kingsland with a lot of needs. She settled in well, with the help of the staff. She is well cared for, I have never visited Mum and felt she wasn't well cared for. Mum looks well and cared for, we are extremely happy with all the staff and care she receives.

Overall Experience

My father has been in Kingsland for almost a year. His first two months were very difficult for him and we struggled to come to terms with requiring nursing care. Thankfully, with the help and assurance from the staff and manager, he finally settled in. Any issues that I raised were dealt with in a

very professional way by the manager. From time to time, staff shortages are evident but are short-lived. Overall, I am very happy and grateful for the care given to my father.

My mum went into Kinsgland over a month ago. Everyone was so welcoming. She hasn't been well for a while so when I got to see her after her isolation period, she was so content and comfortable I knew I had picked the perfect place. Overall Experience

From our very first contact with Kingsland Care Centre, we received a most favourable response, understanding, compassion and a clear desire to help us in our hour of need. Over a year on, and we are so grateful to both the manager and every staff member for the care and compassion shown to my sister.

Communication is excellent, care is delivered to a high standard and my sister is well cared for and appears very content. We as a family are so grateful to have found this home.

Mum became a resident in Ashgrove in February 2021 following a hospital admission. She was made to feel very welcome and the level of care and kindness she has received has been excellent.
