Fordingbridge Care Home

from R K (Grandson of Resident) published on 18 November 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My grandmother has lived in 4 previous care homes prior to Fordingbridge Care Home. I can honestly say that this care home does wonders for her needs exceeding expectations for her overall living and quality of life. The care home is warm and welcoming from its setting, internal environment, facilities
for residents and it's amazing staff members. My grandmother is happy and settled. Her bedroom is warm, spacious and risk-free. They offer a great selection of freshly cooked food to its residents allowing my grandmother to have a balanced diet. The care home has recently undergone light refurbishments and now looks great! Highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for themselves or loved ones. Special thanks to the team for doing an amazing job not only for my grandmother but for all residents as this is visible when we have visited the site.

I have always been welcomed by the staff when visiting and treated with respect. The staff are cheerful and friendly. The care was managed very well at the end of life and every comfort was available. The resident was entirely satisfied with the help he was given.

My Aunt has been warmly welcomed into this care home and very quickly said she wouldn't want to go back to her old home. All staff are friendly, have helped her settle in, they ensure that she eats well, and encourage her to join activities. Her friends were happy to visit too as they weren't sure what
to expect. Thank you to you all.

Reply from Helen Jones, CEO at Cedar Lawn Nursing Home

I am delighted that your Aunt's friends are happy to visit, that's such great support and comfort to your Aunt. Everyone eats well in Cedar Lawn, the chef is amazing and puts his heart and soul into everything he produces. Our Cedar Lawn colleagues are warm and happy, they love the work they do, and they genuinely care for the Residents and families. In my view, that's what makes it such a beautiful home. Thank you again and best wishes to your family, Helen

My father was offered a place at Dunwood Manor Nursing Home on 2/1/24, after spells in and out of the hospital over a 7-month span. It’s been the best thing that could have happened to dad. The staff are first class. They are very caring and help dad settle in from the word go. The nursing care at this
moment in time is first class. There is a good atmosphere in the home, with friendly smiling friendly faces. The food is prepared in the kitchen and my father says the food is very good, and plenty of it. Overall I am very pleased with the way things are going 10 out of 10.

Reply from Helen Jones, CEO at Dunwood Manor

Thank you for your consideration and informed review. Firstly I am delighted to read that we have made your Dad more comfortable and settled than he was. Little matters more than the Resident feeling comfortable and settled. We appreciate your feedback, we take our reviews seriously and we share them with the team so we all benefit. My very best wishes to your family, Helen

Cedar Lawn is a very caring home and has a real family atmosphere. The food is all cooked on-site and they cater to all needs. Currently, there is a lack of outings due to a minibus not being available - this needs to be sorted. It will make such a difference to the residents to be able to go offsite.
The
carers are always friendly and listen to any concerns. When visiting I am always made to feel welcome. I feel that the organized activities are fun and interactive.
They do their best for all the residents.

My sister was cared for at Cedar Lawn from the 9th of February after her discharge from the hospital. The manager and her team looked after her extremely well. The food was excellent, the staff caring and attentive and she was very comfortable there. Having seen several nursing homes over the years
Cedar Lawn is one of the best I have been to.

Every staff member has been exceptional and all demonstrated genuine care and support around looking after my father-in-law. It has certainly helped with the bereavement knowing how well he was looked after and that he was always surrounded by people who looked after him like he was their own father.
He was always clean and so was his room.

I was not able to visit my Dad as much as I liked due to Covid and my work commitments and distance to the home but I was rest assured knowing my Dad was being looked after so well. All of the staff were so attentive and I believe that they not only cared for my Dad but also had a special bond with
him and would make him smile. His room and himself were always clean and when I visited the staff, they always made me feel welcome, they would also keep in touch with me and notify me of how my Dad was doing. I would recommend this home to anyone thinking of sending their loved ones there.

Fordingbridge Care Home was excellent in every way while looking after my father.
The staff would always try their very best to make my father's life as comfortable and as happy as they could.
The job of taking care of my father's every need was difficult at best and got harder as his illness progressed
but the staff always stepped up to the mark.

My sister has settled in well. She seems content and happy when we arrive to visit and when we depart. She has deteriorated due to her type of dementia but still seems well in herself. The staff have always been helpful and they have addressed many problems that have occurred with my sister nad have
adapted things to help with her needs. We have always found the staff very approachable and willing to answer out queries or questions. We are pleased that they now have permanent activity staff to help keep the residents interested and entertained. We're thankful that my sister is safe and well cared for.

Excellent care from underappreciated and overworked staff. After we explained our concerns to the deputy manager she was very sympathetic to our needs and took the time to explain the daily care that my relative was receiving. Because of this we now have a better understanding of what happens on a daily
basis. Thank you to the deputy manager!

My husband came to this care home in August 2022. He was very upset and traumatised, as was I as his wife.
Over the months, the care for him by all the staff has been fantastic and I am grateful for the smiling faces that always greet me. When I visit, he is settled and comfortable and I can relax
