From my Dads first home visit for assessment, respite care for two weeks in December and then he returned in January 2025 weeks as a family we found the care home to be welcoming to the family, my Dads care by the nursing staff to show my Dad respect, dignity and excellent care for a proud man.
Nothing
was too much trouble, staff available for questions and visiting was if and when we wanted to.
Although this is a Nursing home, it is a care home for dementia patients as well.

My dad, moved into St George's In October after a long spell in hospital. Nursing home is amazing. All the care staff are wonderful with him, he has entered into the severe stage of his dementia journey. Everyone is kind friendly and caring. Dad is very confused and that is frightening for him. The
staff treat him with respect , kindness and understand his needs.
The housekeeping and Laundry staff are amazing .The facilities are spotless clean, dad's room is airy and bright. Dad, always gets his clothes and blankets back, smelling great. Nothing has been lost.
The Chef and kitchen staff have been wonderful at accommodating dad's dietary requirement. The food always looks and smells amazing. Dad does enjoy his freshly baked cakes.
Dad has been a bit poorly and the nurses have acted straight away to get dad the treatment and support that he has needed.
St George is what excellent dementia care looks likes. We can't fault it.
Thank to everyone are St George's for looking after my dad.

My parents moved into St Georges Nursing Home in the spring. It was a huge step for them to leave their cherished house and we thought carefully about what support they would need and how this could best be done with the minimum of trauma.
The staff at St Georges gave the whole family constant help,
advice and reassurance throughout the time it took for my parents to adjust to their new surroundings and settle in. Rooms and routines were established and nursing advice was constantly available.
One of the best reasons for them adapting to their new lifestyle was the daily provision of activities available. These enabled Mum and Dad to 'live in the moment' make new friends and never be bored!
Another winning provision was the exceptional meals cooked by a talented chef and his team.
Personal care and companionship in the home were very well administered by committed staff. We thank St Georges for all they have done to instil our trust that Mum and Dad are in the safest possible hands.

I have visited this care home on several occasions. Every time I have been treated with the utmost kindness and respect. Never is a time inconvenient to visit. Having worked in the NHS as a nurse and health visitor for 47 years, now retired, I know how to treat all people with care and compassion and
I am so pleased it continues in all care sectors. Thank you.

Dad was accepted at St Georges just over a week ago, and already I can see a difference in him. The staff all know his name, how he takes his coffee, what foods he isn't keen on and which are his favourites. The care home is light and airy and very clean, and there is always something to keep the residents
occupied and entertained. I can't thank the management team and staff enough and I know when I leave him that he is safe. Well done St George's.

Mum had a recent break at St Georges, and from my very first phone call to enquire about respite I felt totally supported, it was so nice to have contact with one person who was very responsive and professional and organised Mum's stay.
All of the staff I met were very kind, courteous friendly nothing
seemed too much trouble, they made Mum feel very welcome and looked after her very well during her stay.
It was so lovely to have feedback when I called that Mum was settling in well and was enjoying the daily activities.
Mum thoroughly enjoyed her stay and hopes to be able to have another break later in the year.

Under new management - one of vast experience and pragmatic in every way. From small steps to big changes all involving the 'household' model which brings independence to all the residents and a sense of community from living in small units. This home is 'going places' and has developed a unique 'buzz'
of activity and a time sense of purpose. It's a good place to live in.

Reply from Helen Jones, CEO at St Georges Nursing Home

Thank you for your marvelous review. I am so delighted to read that you've identified how the household model gives our Residents so much more independence to live each day their way. And also, you're correct, our wonderful manager has been with us for a few months and is really bringing our fantastic team together. Our home is buzzy and happy because everyone is having a good time every day together. We are thrilled to have received this feedback, thank you so much. Best wishes.

We rang St George’s nursing home to ask if they had a bed free for our mum who we wanted to there asap. This was our first choice of home as we had visited family there previously and always thought how nice it was. We were invited to view 2 rooms later that day. We were shown around the home and introduced
to staff as we passed them, everyone was friendly and caring. The home was immaculate. The resident liaison manager went to the hospital to assess Mum and a few days later we had confirmation they could take her. She has now settled in and is very happy there. The staff took the time to get to know her likes and dislikes and we are very happy knowing that she is being well cared for.

The process from initial contact through to Mum's arrival from the hospital to St George’s four days later was very well organised. The liaison manager kept us informed of the process and completed the assessment of Mum in the hospital with great care and kindness.

Following a fall at home and a week in hospital, it became apparent Mum would need some convalescent care. We were recommended the St Georges Nursing Home, and they have been brilliant. From the first phone call, they have been so supportive. They got everything sorted with the hospital to accept Mum
within a couple of days. Nothing has been too much trouble.
Mum has Dementia and has therefore been very confused as to where she is and why. All the staff have been so understanding, welcoming and caring.
The facilities and food are excellent. Sunday Roast looked and smelt amazing!

My father has been at St Geroges for two years. He is as happy there as he can be in a care environment. This is a direct result of the fantastic team, which includes clean and kitchen staff. All staff are warm and friendly. The home is warm, always clean and welcoming. I can visit anytime, and there

My dad was moved to St Georges after 6 weeks in hospital having been very unwell. From the moment we first met the Resident Liaison Manager at the hospital, we were instantly put at ease about Dad's move. He was happy to answer all questions we had and offered to look around the home the same day. The
home is lovely, it’s bright, roomy and full of positive and smiling staff. Dad has now been there for 5 days and we can see how well looked after he is. It’s lovely to see residents getting involved with things, especially meal times. Thank you to everyone at St Georges!

My Mum had to change her care home. She has Alzheimer's, and where she was wasn't equipped for her needs.
I was extremely worried and anxious about moving Mum, as I knew the transition would be difficult for her. I met the resident liaison manager who talked me through everything, about Mum, about
St Georges and showed me around. The following day he went to see my Mum to assess her needs and felt St Georges would be a good place for her.
I am so happy I made this choice. The transition went so smoothly, the carers were wonderful in welcoming Mum, and she is more settled than I ever imagined her to be. I love the garden, the activities they do, (the people who run the activities are wonderful! So friendly, and warm, to both Mum and me) and it's all very clean and they all have an ensuite and the room is very comfortable. So thanks St Georges, for making an anxious time, so much easier than I thought possible.

Reply from Helen Jones, CEO at St Georges Nursing Home

Hello,
I am so sorry to read of your family's challenging experience. Reading how our clever kind team in St Georges came together to ease the transition for you all is terrific, thank you for sharing. It really does take a full team to achieve the support we aim for, it's the liaison manager, the foodies, the housekeeping team as much as the care and clinical team and management. Everyone has an important role to play to make sure we get it right. My best wishes to you and your family, thank you so much for choosing our lovely home.

My mum came to St George’s for respite originally following a long stay in hospital. She liked it so much that she asked if she could stay and have her needs met. It accommodates her power chair, and she feels like she’s being looked after well.
The nursing and care support staff are all very friendly,
polite and professional. The meals always look lovely and varied. Activities appear to accommodate the majority, and residents look like they enjoy it.
The resident coordinator has been very supportive and helpful.

In a challenging unplanned situation, both my parents had to go from hospital to a home ASAP. One gentleman was super responsive in our hour of need. We visited St Georges on Thursday, and he visited the hospital on Friday am and by Tuesday (only delayed by hospital discharge) both parents are in their
new home. He continues to show real interest and has shared photos of them enjoying the garden today. Everyone we have met has been lovely and keen to support their considerable needs. It is early days, but a week in the team is all working hard to support from nursing to caring and daily updates on their well-being, spotlessly clean rooms and a kitchen team who care about the enjoyment of the residents. Our first impressions are very positive for an important late-life move. Thank you to all at St Georges.
