Considering the often challenging behaviour that Mum displays, the staff and management of Rose Garden always demonstrate care, compassion and professionalism. The activities provided are good and varied. It feels more like a community than a care home made up of individual rooms.

My husband was made very welcome at Olive Tree House, from the start and despite his Dementia he settled well quite quickly. The nursing and care staff were good, they listened to us and acted on any concerns we had.
When the inevitable happened the end of life care was compassionate towards him and
his family.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a review. We appreciate receiving everyone's feedback but when it is written in the time of loss, it's even more appreciated by us, thank you. My mother-in-law has been a resident at Rose Gardens for a couple of months. All the staff are very attentive and gentle and always very accommodating. Today we celebrated my mother-in-law's 80th birthday in the Concord room. The staff decorated the room and provided cake and a buffet. It has been a
lovely afternoon in a perfect setting, so lovely the family could mark the occasion in a private setting.

Reply from Helen Jones, CEO at Rose Garden

That was a great celebration, congratulations to your family as well as your mother-in-law. Gentle is a very good word to describe the Rose team, they're so compassionate and kind and it really makes everyone feel special. Thanks for your review, it's greatly appreciated, best wishes.

My Father has been at Rose Garden for five years and I can't fault the treatment. He is not the easiest person to look after but all the staff have been wonderful with him.
The place itself is excellent and all the staff are really friendly and helpful. I can't praise the place enough, all the staff
are worth their weight in gold if anyone is in the sad position of looking for a care home, don't look any further they don't come any better than this.

Most care was very good, just a shame dad fractured him arm when with you.
On leaving they have not given us any information on dad and where he is at now and any changes in him. Plus I just found out that you have permanently taken him off the doctors he has been with. I was told dad doctors would
change but only on temporary bases, now dad is without doctors until I get to doctors to get form and fill out, but as I don't know doctors you use will have to sort that out.

As you walk into this care home there is such a warm, cosy feeling! The staff are attentive to the residents' needs and are warm and welcoming. The activities team I want to particularly shout out as the activities they offer the residents are above and beyond. I would 100% recommend this care home.

Reply from Helen Jones, CEO at Olive Tree House

Thank you for your feedback. Your description resonated clearly with me, that is exactly what it is like. Our reception team leads the way in their warm welcomes all day every day. The activities team are indeed both energetic and creative. Together with the care and housekeeping teams, they make each household lively and engaged. Apart from being a lovely building, it is this energy and warmth that makes it a great home.

You hope your parents will always live at home but if a life-changing event occurs and this is not possible, I would definitely recommend Blossom Fields.
Staff are respectful, compassionate, kind and give the time and care needed, which at times have needed flexibility and creativity, to meet individual
needs.
Any questions/queries the family have are listened to, talked through, developing a plan or change of care.
The team of carers are wonderful towards my family member. I can't fault how caring they have been towards my parent, giving peace of mind.
Activities provided are varied to meet everyone's interests and give stimulation.
Meals provided are also varied, presented well, individual dislikes/preferences taken into account. Family members are invited to eat with their relatives which is such an enjoyable experience. Importantly, the food tastes delicious too!
Families are involved, thought about, which is comforting to know when there is an elderly partner still at home.

Reply from Helen Jones, CEO at Blossom Fields

Hello, thank you for your comprehensive and very positive review of our lovely home and team at Blossom Fields. When faced with the reality that your parent isn't best served by staying in the family home, it's a very difficult time for everyone. We've got all the time in the world to speak with people in this situation so they may gain comfort in the selection and the process. No one knows how to go about moving into a care home and suddenly you need to know all about it! So do talk to us, my colleagues are experts and genuinely want to help. As for having meals with us, our household model is all about making everyone feel more at home and relaxed. We absolutely love it when families join us for breakfast lunch or supper! And the continuation of family and friends interactions in the resident's new home is central to their well-being. And each resident needs all of us working together to provide the very best care and service. With my best wishes, Helen.

The care home in Winterbourne, High Street is excellent, top marks from me, cared for my dad brilliantly. When I get old I'm definitely going there. You could ask anything and they would see to it. Food, if you didn't want what they were giving you they would go out their way and go and do something
else. Staff were so helpful, the receptionist people in the offices, they went up and beyond for anything you needed, they would help you. Every single member I spoke to at the care home and also witnessed them caring for other members that were in the home, they all had the same treatment, went above and beyond.

Reply from Helen Jones, CEO at Blossom Fields

Hello, thank you for your review. "Above and beyond' is a very apt description of the Blossom team's approach. It's a very happy, warm relaxed home, a very good place to be. Thanks for your comments, my colleagues will be thrilled to read them. Cheers Helen.

Staff are very friendly and caring.
Management always ready to help with settling the patient.
Access at weekend can be trying when it takes ages for staff to answer the call to open the door.
Food was very good at first, at the beginning of December, but was poor during the Christmas period.

Reply from Helen Jones, CEO at Blossom Fields

Hello, thank you for taking the time to provide us with your views, it is much appreciated. We will investigate the access difficulties and also what happened regarding the food service. My apologies if it wasn't up to standard, food is always important, particularly at Christmas! I am delighted to read your feedback regarding my colleagues. I have found Blossom Fields to be exemplary in its care of my mum. The staff are always kind and gentle and go out of their way to try to accommodate residents' needs. Mum is never lonely as she loves to sit and listen and watch the staff and other residents as they go about their work and receive visitors
in the lounge. She is frequently taken along to the activity sessions and although she struggles to join in, she is surrounded by laughter and chatter which she loves. Mum is not able to walk but is hoisted into a chair and taken to the lounge daily. This makes her feel included and staff regularly talk to and smile and laugh with Mum as she is with them out there. If I have ever had a concern I have found staff and management willing to listen and try to accommodate in any way they can.

I cannot praise all the staff at Blossom Fields enough normally but this Christmas they have all gone above and beyond! From Father Christmas running reception to the nurses and staff dressing in festive attire. My mum looked fabulous and the atmosphere throughout the home was (as always) warm, homely
and considerate.
A difficult time of the year without your loved ones being at home with you but wonderful to know that the care they continue to receive at Blossom is as near to perfect as you could possibly get. Thank you all so very much!

Dad has been at Blossom Fields for about six weeks so far. The care that he is receiving is excellent. All of the care workers are so lovely and friendly and go out of their way to provide updates on how Dad is doing.
The environment is really nice, clean and well-furnished. The food also looks really
good and care is taken over the presentation.
It's a nice touch that you can hang pictures and photos on the walls to make it more homely.
This was such a difficult decision for us, as far as my dad's care goes, but the management and staff have really helped us and Dad to get used to his new home. As his daughter, it is such a relief to know that he is being looked after so well.

Reply from Helen Jones, CEO at Blossom Fields

Hello, I think making the decision to move your parent into a care home is one of life's most difficult moments. I am really happy to read that we've helped you and your dad settle into Blossom. It does take time for everyone to get used to living in a new place but your dad is welcome, warm and safe with us which means you can enjoy being his daughter knowing his care is being taken care of. My very best wishes to you and your family and of course, your dad. Best wishes, Helen.

Review of

The Grove

from Neil H (Son of Resident) published on 2 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mum recently passed away following 4 years at The Grove, she had severe dementia and could barely communicate. She arrived at The Grove during the Pandemic Lockdown and initially isolated herself in her bedroom. One of the carers was fantastic with her and encouraged her to go downstairs and integrate
with the other residents. Although my mum's dementia didn't improve her general wellbeing improved massively. She was much happier and went from always being in her room to spending all of her time downstairs watching what was happening and enjoying the activities even though she couldn't take part herself. All of the staff were supportive and encouraging. When my my mum became very ill in November 2024, the carer once again was fantastic looking after her needs and providing comfort and care at the end of her life. Thank you to this carer and all the staff who helped through her last years.

Reply from Helen Jones, CEO at The Grove

Hello, I am so sorry for your loss. It is extremely kind of you to think of us and send us your feedback, thank you. My colleagues in The Grove are so absolutely committed to ensuring each Resident has the best day possible, they genuinely care for the Residents and enjoy being with them. I love how my colleagues see each person irrespective of their diagnosis and that's not always easy to do. To read that your Mum was much happier is the best outcome we could hope for, that is absolutely the point of what we do. I wish you and your family a gentle time through your grief. With my best wishes.
