St Marys Chanterlands is a home that opened less than a year ago and as such benefits from the best and state of the art facilities found within care settings Your points are in direct opposition to over 15, 5 Star reviews published recently so will be reviewed in detail. We apologise that you find that the service provided failed to live up to your expectations and understand that the issues surrounding the medication was something not directly within our control. Thank you for your feedback. We acknowledge the concerns raised regarding your mum's stay and conducted a thorough investigation, which included staff discussions, review of care records, and communication with relevant professionals. Our findings have been shared with the CQC and closed. A choice of room was given and your family chose the room as it had a lovely view of the canal. It was confirmed that your mum ate her meals in the dining room and was encouraged to socialise, though she made individual choices regarding participation. Protected mealtimes, communicated to your family, aim to maintain residents' safety and nutrition. The GP discussed with your mum at length her choices of treatment to enable her to make her decision which he felt did not require power of attorney input. We are committed to reflecting on feedback to continuously improve our care practices. Do not hesitate to reach out directly so we can further discuss your concerns and work towards a resolution.
