Excellent care, Mum's really happy here. Lovely rooms, all ensuite. We feel we can live our lives with our family at home knowing Mum's getting the best care. The only thing Mum would change is the standard of food more of a variety for nursing residents but what makes the home is the staff. They are
all amazing and helpful, from management to cleaners.

Reply from Paul Millar, Client Relations at St Marys Chanterlands Care Home

The team will be delighted with your thoughts of how well we are doing to support Mum . Thank you.

It's been a few months now and only finding the strength to write this after my dads passing last October 2024, I definitely found the home understaffed and actually found my dad left alone for a number of hours and not monitored as much as he should of been, I think the last visit was actually devastating
as he had COPD and it took all day to call for a dr and when I got to the home at 6pm not even an ambulance had been called (which should of been called ) it took another 3 hrs and sadly my dad passed away, not the best experience we have had with the home especially the manager she has no empathy at all wouldn't have any other members of my family go in this home I do actually know when the home was the original one located at the front it was better , but when they had the big one built at the back of the old one they changed most of the staff and this was not good.

Reply from Paul Millar, Client Relations at St Marys Chanterlands Care Home

We are truly sorry for your loss and send our sincere condolences to you and your family. We were saddened to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, particularly during such a difficult time. While the care your father received was reviewed through the appropriate safeguarding process and no concerns were upheld, we understand this does not ease your grief. We are always open to discussing concerns further and deeply regret that your lasting impression was not one of comfort and support. With sympathy,

My husband had a massive stroke in June 2024 and I have visited him every day since. St Mary's care is the best he has had in all that time, they really so want to see him able to stand on his paralysed right leg and be more independent, again, they even let me be with him night and day on our 69th
wedding anniversary last night. Wonderful care from a second family. My husband's right hand is still useless, he cannot write.

The manager should be retrained/removed. The home should be demolished and rebuilt with the needs of residents in and cleanliness good except for the beetle found in my room! Laundry system at best eratic, staff must respect privacy of residents and not laugh in their faces when complaining. Medical
good but I am awaiting reply to my complaint ref with holding of medication. Food, breakfast good, the rest well it's food!
Overall, the last weeks have been the most miserable and unhappy of my life, things can only get better!

Thank you for taking the time to review our home. All feedback is welcomed and allows us to continually develop our service. St Marys Chanterlands is a home that opened less than a year ago and as such benefits from the best and state of the art facilities found within care settings Your points are in direct opposition to over 15, 5 Star reviews published recently so will be reviewed in detail. We apologise that you find that the service provided failed to live up to your expectations and understand that the issues surrounding the medication was something not directly within our control. St Mary's Lodge Care Home

My dad has been at St Mary's Lodge for 4 months now. He has had a tough 4 years, previously staying at 3 different specialist care homes. Finally, after being able to move him into St Mary's, the difference in just 2 weeks was just incredible. It was as though his lights had been switched on.
St Mary's
Lodge is the most beautifully decorated home, with the nicest of atmosphere, it is always immaculate, it doesn't smell, and Dad always looks smart, with his clothes washed and looked after. Dad is on blended foods and they always make sure he gets the nutrition he needs.
The management and all the staff have gone above and beyond to cater for all of Dad's needs, whether he is in the lounge or in his bedroom, Dad is always been watched.
We can't thank everyone enough for finally making such a difference in our experience visiting Dad. So very happy Dad is finally somewhere he deserves to be.

Mum was only in St Mary's Care Centre for a relatively short length of time until her passing but the care and support she received was always to the highest standard especially the last couple of weeks when she returned from hospital on end of life care. It meant a lot to the family that her final

I would like to send my kind regards, thanks, and appreciation to the management and staff at St Mary's Riverside. My mother was admitted to St Mary's just over a year ago. The standard of care that she has received during this time has been excellent. The staff are always very kind, caring, and supportive,
and treat the residents with respect and dignity. My mother's health and well-being have certainly improved from moving into St Mary's after living alone in her own home. She is always clean and well-dressed. She enjoys the food and looks physically well. I have found the atmosphere at St Mary's inclusive, welcoming, and supportive to relatives, too, and we are included in the many activities, or invited to functions. Many thanks to all.

My dad has been at St Mary's Riverside for nearly a year now and has settled in very well. The staff are very caring and do craft activities and much more. The home is beautifully decorated with lovely views and is kept lovely and clean. I love the way there are different rooms to walk to and sit in
when you go and visit and a balcony over looking the river.
The food is excellent and the staff always happy to talk about any worries.
Thank you Riverside for making a hard job of putting my dad into care a much easier one.

St Mary's Care Centre is like a second home to me as I visit Mum at least 4 times a week. I find everyone there to be friendly, approachable, and informed about my Mums welfare. Everyone is empathetic and welcoming and they show a genuine concern for all their residents. They encourage residents to
get involved in the activities but are not pushy if anyone doesn't want to.
Thank you for taking care of my Mum when I couldn't do so anymore. Never underestimate the peace of mind this gives to relatives - I have relaxed for the first time in years.

My grandma came into the home several months ago. It was really tough for her to transition to being in the home but with the expert guidance of the managers and day staff that I spoke to so regularly, she started to refer to them as her friends. She was welcomed by all the staff and wasn't someone
to be fooled, but she trusted them and made special bonds with many of the staff too. She received the much-needed hugs, kind words and practical support she needed with dignity, professionalism with personal delivery. The home itself is so clean and comfortable and collective meal times with 3 courses and my grandma's favourites often popping on the menus meant so much. At such a difficult time, I personally could not recommend the home and staff highly enough. Knowing your favourite person is being looked after so well when you can't be there all the time is priceless. Thank you all.

Transitioning to a new environment can be challenging, so it means the world to hear that our team was able to provide the comfort, care, and genuine friendship she needed. We're thrilled that she felt at home, formed bonds with our staff, and enjoyed her favourite meals. Supporting our residents with dignity, warmth, and personalised care is what we strive for every day. Thank you for placing your trust in us and for sharing such a special message. My mother had an all too short stay at the Lodge between the end of July and the beginning of November 2024. She was resistant and difficult on admission but the care and patience of the managers and all the staff over the days and weeks led to my mother settling and smiling again. She was confused
and her moods was unstable as well as falling frequently but I cannot fault the care shown, the right level of encouragement, personal, respectful, and at the end dedicated to ensuring the best possible ending for her. My family and I will be always grateful. In terms of the physical surroundings, food, etc the Lodge had all that was needed for mum, good quality and I appreciated the open invitation to stay for food with my mum. Thank you to management and your team of brilliant caring staff.

On behalf of all of us at St. Mary's Lodge, thank you for your kind words and for trusting us with your mother's care.
