I went to visit a friend who is a resident. The staff greeted me with kindness and all were very friendly. The manager was very helpful. I arrived at lunchtime and the food looked amazing and my friend said it is delicious. The chef gave me a pudding as I was sitting with my friend, and that was very
delicious! I would recommend The Anchorage here at Pulborough to my friends. Also me when I need care. xx

Austenwood Nursing Home

from A W (Daughter of Resident) published on 7 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Finding Austenwood Nursing Home was such a relief as I was really having trouble finding somewhere which I thought would be suitable for my Dad, who has dementia. The atmosphere, as soon as you walk in, is very welcoming and calm and very much home from home. It doesn't feel like a care home at all
and very light and airy. The staff from all areas are just wonderful - caring, understanding, fun - each providing all you can ask for in their own areas of specialism. Their empathy and compassion shines through and they treat each resident as individuals. This is everything I was looking for in a care home for my Dad. He can be challenging at times but they take it in their stride and tell me not to worry. When I chat with him we agree that this is the best place for him. Thank you

Kingfisher is an amazing place for the elderly to stay. I was so worried about my friend going in to a care home, but I needn't have, I am so happy with this place. If you've got anything you need to discuss, they are more than happy to speak to you and then sort whatever needs sorting. The staff are

My mum has been a resident for 18months now and overall we are very happy with the level of care she receives .The carers and office staff are always helpful with their knowledge regarding dementia and have got us through some challenging times .As a regular weekly/almost daily visiter they are always
welcoming and nothing is too much trouble if you need help with your loved ones .They have lots of entertainment for the residents as well as family days where all the family can join in .The home has a great feel to it and everyone is treated with the upmost respect .Many of the staff have been there along time so you can get to know them properly , there doesn't .appear to be a big turnover of staff which speaks volumes .The main thing is my mum says she is happy and staff are lovely and she feels safe and cared for which is very reassuring for us as a family .It is very well run by the management team who go above and beyond for the safety of the residence .

A very pleasant home that is seems spacious enough and well cared for. The external grounds look very appealing and there appeared to be plenty of facilities on site. Our Mum is a recent resident at Churchfields. We were all quite nervous about the transition from home living into care, and she, and we her family, were supported every step of the way. The professionalism, warmth and excellence of the care she has had received is amazing. In every area of care, staff
have gone above and beyond. Our mum is safe, happy and settled in bright and homely surroundings where the best interests of all the residents as individuals, and as part of a community, is plain to see. I cannot recommend Churchfields more highly.

Due to the full care my father needs I can not fault what they do for him at the home .He has his own privacy but is always checked on if something is out of normal routine.
Even today he normally has his door always open but I was just helping him and straight away there was a knock at the door and
a voice asking "is everything OK " and a head popped round just to make sure dad was OK.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. We're so glad to hear that your father's care is meeting your expectations, and that you feel confident in the attention he receives. It's wonderful that he has the privacy he needs while still being looked after and monitored with such care. We truly believe in creating a balance between independence and safety, and we're happy to know that the staff's attentiveness, like the check-ins you mentioned, provide you with peace of mind. Your feedback means a lot to us, and we're grateful for the trust you've placed in us to care for your father.
