We visited a patient staying at The Anchorage today. We called unexpectedly and were received by the delightful manager who took us to see our friend. He was in good spirits and was able to talk to us (in response to a question) about how kind and caring were the staff.
As we sat talking other patients
began to gather as it was approaching lunchtime. Ther4e was a warm, happy, and friendly atmosphere. We left the house with smiles on our faces.

The manager and staff at Manor Barn Nursing Home couldn't have been nicer. They were all very caring and knowledgeable and looked after my father so well in his month there. Sadly, he passed away whilst there but I couldn't have chosen a nicer place for him to be during the last few weeks of his life.
Would highly recommend.

We feel that the care our friend receives at The Anchorage is excellent.
She is delighted with her room which looks out to the garden and pond.
The staff are very kind and caring and if they have spare time sit and chat to her.
She says the quality of the meals is excellent and she can request her
favourite food.
Well done to The Anchorage, keep up the good work!!

I have visited The Anchorage once to visit my friend. I was impressed by the atmosphere, the staff, who all seemed very attentive, and the facilities. We joined my friend for lunch, which was very good. She said she hopes to go back to her home, but if that's not possible would be content to stay at
The Anchorage.

My husband was cared for whilst I had a week's break. I was confident he would be well looked after in this lovely home. A week is not long to judge somewhere but I was confident he would be looked after well and he was. The staff I met were very friendly and caring, and everywhere was very comfortable
and clean. Very good choice of healthy food. The facilities are excellent. I had hoped he would take part in activities but he was confused and was not there long enough to get used to things. My rating as 'good' rather than excellent is purely because I only have a week on which to make a judgement.

I can't express my gratitude to all the staff at The Anchorage for the care they gave my husband, after he had had a serious operation.
He was given an extremely clean and very comfortable bedroom where he could relax and recuperate.
The staff were like family, they always had a happy and cheerful
face and nothing was too much trouble. The daily menus were just as he liked it and staff often catered to his tastes.
As I am elderly also, everyone showed concern for my mental welfare when I visited my husband on a daily basis beyond the call of duty which I truly appreciated.
If ever I needed care or respite in my old age, I would certainly want to go to The Anchorage.

I visited a friend at The Anchorage at their Summer Party in September and was so impressed by the effort that had gone in to making it such a special day for the residents, there was a fabulous band, ice cream van, close up magician, great food and lots of effort had gone in to the whole event. My
friend said she was extremely happy there and the carers were so kind and lovely, the food was great and she was well cared for. It's such a relief to see her happy here, I would certainly recommend The Anchorage.

I am absolutely delighted with the care and kindness that my husband received in this charming house. Immediately after I entered I was met with smiles and laughter and felt such warmth and friendliness from all the staff who all had smiles. It is a great comfort for me to know that such a service is
available for my husband when he might need it as he ages more. I can only say a huge thank you - I had complete peace of mind for him while I was away.

My mother has been at The Anchorage for 2 1/2 years. Prior to moving to The Anchorage she had a very brief spell at another care home in Horsham that left her with a dreadful impression of life to come in a care home setting. The Anchorage however is everything that first home was not and she regained
her zest for life. The care manager and the rest of the management team and staff are simply fantastic and completely focused on providing the best quality of care and support to residents. Never have have we encountered anything other than total professionalism, efficiency and commitment which has always been delivered in the most friendly personal way. The rooms, common areas and gardens are always spotlessly clean and well-maintained. In terms of fees it is competitive and represents excellent value. We count ourselves very fortunate to have found The Anchorage and cannot recommend it highly enough.

My mother has now been at The Anchorage just over six months. It was the seventh care home as I wanted Mum to be in the best place. I was definitely right about The Anchorage. The staff are just wonderful, very caring. The management team help with any queries. The entertainment team is so good at organising
such good entertainment and things to do - excerise, crafts etc. Just a great place. Mum is very happy.

Wonderful caring environment to spend his last few months. The staff are fabulous. The garden views are beautiful and the food was lovely. Very kind and considerate of family and resident in final hours. Did not sample the activities as too poorly and no idea for value for money as was funded. Two or
three staff really went above and beyond and couldn't thank them more. My only request would be to ensure bed trays are cleaned a little more often used baby wipes to go over-otherwise very clean.

My dear friend has been at The Anchorage for about two years. When she was admitted there her health was indeed very poor. Now she is cheerful and active, this is all due to the wonderful care in the home. The care and kindness shown is outstanding. Every need is catered for and this is all down to
the staff from the manager, deputy and all the staff I met, I can only say they are a credit to the company.

As a family we are really happy with the care my mother is receiving. The Anchorage is a wonderful country house and gardens. The staff are excellent. The residents can be involved with the activities or left in the privacy of their rooms.
Visiting is always a pleasure and my mother is lucky enough
to have grandchildren and great grandchildren and dogs to visit and possibly sit in the garden. Weather permitting.
Probably the only negative is the fish and chips (not to her palate) bit hard.

Reply from Jessica Watkins, Care Home Manager at The Anchorage

Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad everyone is enjoying the gardens, it's so lovely when families visit with children and dogs. I will discuss your feedback regarding the fish and chips with our head chef and ask him to complete a one-to-one with your mum to discuss this. Thank you for being such a supportive family, it really does create a wonderful family environment at the home.

I have visited on a number of occasions and found nothing but excellent, caring and attentive staff.
They are always welcoming and my stepfather is extremely well taken care of.
As a qualified nurse of many years I am always on the look out for any concerns, yet no matter when I arrive I have always
found excellent care. My stepfather has a poor appetite but the staff have tried their utmost to provide wonderful, nutritious food.

The quality of care is outstanding. There is great efficiency in the management team with information being passed on and communication in all directions is exceptional. The speed at which, once the decision was made, my mother was settled into The Anchorage was incredible - it is a stressful time for
all and everyone involved showed empathy and understanding in the way that they approached the whole family. Thank you, and well done.

As a family, we all agree that this is an outstanding care home run by truly caring staff led by an exceptional manager and her deputy. As other reviews say it really does feel like a home from home and it's always clean, bright and fresh with good food and a wide range of activities on offer. Dad became
a resident in April 2022 and either my brother or I visited him from away every week and without fail, we were always made to feel welcome and nothing was ever too much trouble. Sadly Dad passed away in June and we are just so grateful for the attentive, loving care he received during his last few weeks, it felt like he really did die at home and I was able to be with him at the end. We'd also like to know the proactive care Dad received from the medical group and the district nursing team.

Reply from Jessica Watkins, Care Home Manager at The Anchorage

Thank you for this wonderful review, your dad was an exceptional gentleman with the best sense of humour, he will be greatly missed by the whole Anchorage family. It was a privilege and pleasure to take care of him right to his final day, I hope you will all come back and see you when you can.
