Such excellent staff, from nurses to administration everyone cares and supports residents and families. My mum is in excellent hands here and feel like they care rather than just another resident. Cannot fault their support and communication since Mum arrived here 6 weeks ago.

Mum's been here since August for rest and rehabilitation as advised by social services and 7 specialists at the hospital. Lower Farm have provided excellent care they have highlighted a lot of Mum's care needs for when she is discharged home, we are now at week 7. Awaiting for social services to get
their job done.

Lower Farm Care Home with Nursing Home

from Leslie S (Brother of Resident) published on 1 October 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Our brother entered Lower Farm in late July 2024. It was always known that he was terminally ill and sadly he passed away in late September. During his stay, all the staff provided him with very good care and treated him with respect and consideration making his stay during a very difficult time as
pleasant as possible. Equally, the manager and her staff were always available to talk to relatives as well as provide proactive updates on his well-being and made friends and family welcome when visiting. This was particularly important for the family due to the long distances we all live from King's Lynn. The final call from Lower Farm, never a good call to make, was very important as it gave us a last chance to spend some time with our brother before he passed away. Very professional but as importantly very kind and compassionate care.

My mother has been at Lower Farm since May 2023. She has settled in very well. She is a very fussy and small eater, but they try everything they can to give her food she will eat.
When she presses her call bell their response time is very good.
They try their utmost to make Mum as comfortable as
possible, as she is bedridden.
Whenever she wants something she gets it straight away if possible, obviously.
I have been very impressed with how Lower Farm is run. They are so caring and kind to Mum and I am so pleased I managed to get her a bedroom there.
The staff are also very kind and very friendly with me.
You can talk to the management about anything and they will do their best to sort things out.
So happy Mum is safe and happy in Lower Farm.

My mum has been at Lower Farm for nearly a year now and she is very happy with her care.
She enjoys spending time with the staff, who make every day more fun for her.
The management team are excellent! They keep me informed regarding Mum's weight and condition and will get in touch if there are any
concerns. The staff are quick to accommodate any of mum's needs, thus I know she will be well looked after.
There are also activities that the residents can participate in if they wish, and a beautiful pond in the garden, to spend some time outside, and to feed the ducks.

My uncle has been a resident of this care home for many years and I can honestly say he has received the best care. The staff are always attentive and always put the residents first and work very hard to promote a relaxed and caring atmosphere. It is obvious the residents are well looked after at all
times.

We moved my mum in March of 2023 to Lower Farm Nursing Home, from a care home that was not meeting her needs. Mum suffers from dementia and was rapidly losing weight at her previous care home but since moving to Lower Farm she has gained weight and is much happier. Mum's room at Lower Farm is much bigger
than her previous home with a lovely view and all the members of staff that myself and my wife have encountered have been very professional and friendly. The staff go out of their way to cater to my mum's needs and overall we are extremely happy with the excellent service and level of care that Lower Farm provides.

Mum was admitted to Lower Farm just over a year ago. I am happy to say that this is an excellent establishment with committed and caring staff who my mum adores. They are friendly and provide high standards of care. The facility is well furnished to provide for all care needs and is always clean and
tidy. The management team are excellent and communicates regularly with me as I am unable to visit regularly. When I visited however Mum seemed to be very happy, is always clean and well-presented. I cannot praise this establishment enough and coming from a registered nurse background and experiencing community care first-hand, I would have to say that Lower Farm is one of the best providers around and they excel in dementia care.

from Linda T (Friend of Resident) published on 6 October 2023

My friend has been in Lower Farm for just over a year having had a previous stay in pandemic times. She is very frail and has dementia, which as we all know can make people's behaviour very challenging and difficult.
I am always made to feel welcome on my visits and offered a coffee. My friend is always
clean as is her bedding and her room. She does not leave her room but is invited to join in activities nonetheless.
The staff, all of them, have impressed me constantly. I had my friend in the garden looking at the ducks when one of the young girls from the kitchen came along. We started talking and she made a point of standing in front of my friend so she felt included. I was really impressed as obviously the dignity of the elderly is something held in high regard and as far as I can see this is the norm. As I do not live locally, I am very often on the phone, and again I am never made to feel that I am a nuisance.
Thank you Lower Farm from my friend and I.

Although my stepmother required full-time care as her mobility became more and more impaired, she was afraid of making the change from sheltered housing to residential care. However, having bitten the bullet, she is now pleased she did. She has made some friends and takes part in varied activities and
particularly enjoys the crafts. She is also on a committee.
A typical day would be to have her breakfast in her room, get ready for the day and then head downstairs for lunch around midday. It isn't uncommon for her to stay downstairs with her friends until after teatime when she returns to get ready for bed. She has settled in very nicely and quickly, and often tells me she is happy.
On a personal level, I have found the deputy manager and the accounts department very helpful and patient.
I'm always reluctant to recommend places purely because I've been let down on occasion in the past (not by Lower Farm), which can be uncomfortable. However, my comments above are genuine.

My father was transferred to Lower Farm Care Home after rehab at Amberly Hall care home. My father was recovering from sepsis and had a stroke 9 years ago, so had physical needs with paralysis on his left side. He uses an electric wheelchair, has medical needs for his warfarin levels and a catheter
too. To add to this, Dad's personality changed since the stroke making him quite a difficult person to please. I am phrasing the best way I can.
On arrival, Dad was allocated an upstairs room. This meant he had to go into the lift, in his wheelchair, each time he wanted a cigarette to go outside to smoke. As he is a chain smoker this proved problematic. The care home team moved him to a downstairs room to make his stay more comfortable. They have been caring and supportive to Dad throughout even when he has been unpleasant. Truly professional and we highly recommend Lower Farm Care Home.

I visited my brother for the first time this week as I was allowed to be inside for the first time due to Covid-19 restrictions. It was emotional to see him inside the home after all this time as previously only through a window. I did a lateral flow test on arrival and have been vaccinated.
I have
spoken to the home manager and to a senior carer many times. To meet them and see them in person was great as they have been so kind and supportive to my brother who has complex needs.
He looked so well and happy. I am a nurse myself so I was particularly impressed with the happy atmosphere and how friendly all the other carers and staff were to the residents. I am looking forward to seeing and meeting other staff once the restrictions lift further and hopefully be able to attend the events they hold outside in the summer. Although my brother is much better now he has been extremely unwell prior to his admission to Lower Farm. Their care has been exemplary. Thank you.

My father was transferred to Lower Farm Nursing home in the Autumn of 2019. He suffered a severe head injury when he was 103 years old and from that day onwards he was unable to walk but remained fully alert. No firm diagnosis was made but since that date, he has become progressively paralysed despite
all attempts to rehabilitate. He is now 2 months off 105, cannot speak and can only swallow liquids. He just has minimal use of his hands and cannot move his head. He has required total nursing care with regular repositioning. The care he has received has been exemplary. He is regularly reviewed and has never complained in fact, he has formed a close bond with all the staff who, throughout covid lockdown, have been like family to him and totally dedicated. I was so impressed suitable PPE was in place well before lockdown.

My dad has been living in Lower Farm for almost 9 months now. This has been very hard for him especially with the ongoing pandemic and lockdown. However, throughout this time the staff have been great. The manager has been so helpful and understanding and I believe she is building a strong and positive
team of genuinely caring nurses and carers. Dad has certainly been very well looked after, cared for and kept safe. His room is lovely and the grounds are kept beautifully.
Weather permitting, staff are always on hand to sit in the garden with Dad.
Food is always freshly cooked and the kitchen always offer an alternative if Dad doesn’t like what’s on the day's menu.
I am so pleased to know that Dad is so well looked after and cared for.
As lockdown begins to ease I am enjoying being able to visit again and am so grateful to all the staff for making these pre-bookable/chaperoned visits happen.
I would happily recommend Lower Farm.

I have found Lower Farm Care Home to be a wonderful place to look after my mother.
The staff are so helpful and they have been amazing, especially during this pandemic.

I can feel confident she is being so well cared for.

Our family are extremely happy with the care and attention that the staff at Lower Farm Nursing Home have provided to a family member. Their expertise in dealing with residents and their specific needs, medical or otherwise, is absolutely outstanding. The staff are very caring, patient, and highly qualified
to deal with many different situations and residents' needs. The devotion to their work is incomparable. Staff are not shy of hard work or difficult challenges - they are completely devoted to their duty.
The home is friendly, personable and appealing for any elderly person. Every need is catered for and the grounds are beautiful.
Whilst staff are generally very busy during their shifts - they will always make time for you to check on a relative, which during this difficult time of lockdown etc, has been very much appreciated.
Our family would have no hesitation in recommending Lower Farm Nursing Home, to any other family with an elderly relative requiring care.

My mum has been at Lower Farm for around 2 and a half years and I cannot fault her care. All of the staff are friendly and courteous, they always go the extra mile and my mum is treated with the utmost respect. Her room is clean and airy, she engages in activities now and has made several friends. The
staff have been particularly amazing during the last 12 months, which have been very difficult with Covid. I can relax knowing that my mum is in great hands and receiving excellent care.
