Overall, I am very pleased with my husband's care at Willett Lodge. The staff are all lovely and really look after him. I've been very impressed with the variety of activities the residents can get involved in and how engaging they are made.
I would recommend the home.

My Mum was taken from hospital to Seymour Court for palliative care.
I cannot praise the entire team at the nursing home, she was treated with such dignity and compassion from all the team as we as a family were, nothing was too much trouble.
The nursing team were amazing as the care team and also
the food was lovely and everyone so warm and friendly. Well done Seymour Court.

Review of

Seymour Court

from A W (Wife of Resident) published on 4 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5

Most staff were kind and caring, never enough, difficult to find, particularly mealtimes and weekends. The cover fell off the radiator twice, the window was difficult to close and taps dripped continually, often overflowing. Previous occupant's clothes were left in the wardrobe for 4 weeks until I removed
them. My husband was often found in dirty, wet clothes having spilt food and drink, he couldn't pick them up, and often missed snacks. Often wearing someone else's baggy t-shirts even though I had provided an adequate supply of new shirts, more than once I shaved him because he looked so dishevelled. He was often not adequately hydrated and had numerous catheter problems and urine infections, which often went unnoticed by staff and were not dealt with in a timely manner. The lack of compassion following his death added to our pain, we left his room and had to wait in a corridor, by the usual consistently buzzing call bells, while staff prepared his body, we were told we could re-enter and saw no staff after that, just another job done! No sympathy was expressed or even a goodbye. Limited information on how to obtain the Death Certificate.
I realise a negative comment will not be printed, but question the validity of only printing 'excellent ones, some dating from 2018. Reviews posted regarding Seymour Court bear little resemblance to my experience, or those of other visitors, of over 3½ months, I visited my husband every day. Taking everything into consideration, and reading the daily diary that I had kept, together with visitors' comments, I feel that overall, my husband's care was often not good. Sadly, unlike some comments left, I often didn't feel confident when leaving my husband and at times left the Home very upset. When visiting my husband in the Funeral Home, although heartbreaking, it was such a relief to see him looking like his old self, so clean, tidy and well cared for, for the first time in 3 months.

It is naturally very disappointing to read reviews such as the above and feel saddened that this was your experience. Whilst recollections may vary, I believe that our staff genuinely tried their best to meet your expectations. Under our duty of candour and for purposes of transparency, we would wish that all reviews, good or bad, should be published by an independent verifier such as the ones which are submitted via this platform. Your concerns at the time were taken very seriously and the management would like to apologise for the way that you feel.

The nurses and staff have been very helpful, kind and friendly. They keep me up to date with his health and resolve any problems. His room is quiet, clean and warm and he is kept comfortable. Plenty of nutritious food and drink is provided and they even made him a special birthday cake, which he enjoyed.
The management team have been very helpful, assisting me with things I am not familiar with and keeping me informed about my husband and passing on messages when I have been unable to visit due to ill health. My experience of Willet Lodge Nursing Home has been a pleasant one.

My mum has been staying at Greenacres for nearly a month. I am delighted with the kindness and care shown by the team members and their clear and prompt communication. It wasn't easy for us to move Mum as her family is scattered, I live abroad but the care team made it easy for us. Mum was given a great
choice of rooms and seems to have settled in well. There is a rich schedule of activities for the Christmas period that I am sure Mum will enjoy. I've also noticed that the carers have already figured out just the right things to say to Mum when she gets anxious about her stay. It was a big decision for Mum to move into a care home, but the family is very relieved now that it has happened. Mum values her autonomy but was struggling to live independently and Greenacres seems to provide the right balance of independence and support that she needs. It's still early days, but Mum has decided to become a permanent resident and from our point of view, so far so good!

I cannot rate the hoe and staff highly enough. It was a tough and emotional decision for all the family, however, it was the best move we could have made. Mum is cared for and has been welcomed with open arms as have all the family. Knowing she is safe, happy and cared for brings comfort to us all.

After visiting a very good friend, surveying myself for future reference as I'm now 80 years of age and living alone, looking to the future as I would be more than happy to be a resident. I've had a lovely conversation with a young man who I gather was going an "inspection" at the time, everything was
great - faultless. It was a pleasure to visit your building.

We speak from experience when we say that Greenacres are simply amazing. The management team, general carers/staff

During the last few months of my aunt's life, she stayed at this care home and received exceptional care. The staff from nurses to care, catering, cleaning and management were extremely warm, attentive and professional. My aunt spoke to me about the great care, assistance and dignity she was afforded.
When I first flew from abroad to be with her at the end, I was shown every kindness. Senior management went above and beyond finding me a space to complete some unavoidable work which allowed me to stay close to my aunt until the very end. Every member of the team treated her and me with absolute respect and warmth. I highly recommend this care home without reservation, it restored my faith in the quality of care homes.

My mother has been a resident for about 18 months now and the staff continue to provide a high level of care and professionalism. I am confident she receives the best care possible, in what can be a very challenging environment. The home is always clean and tidy, and it puts my mind at rest knowing
my mum will receive assistance when I cannot be there due to work commitments.
Very pleased with the overall service provided.

I looked, researched and visited numerous care homes over a number of months for my dad who after losing my mum was in a very bad way self-neglect, lonely with significant memory loss he also had two falls I was very afraid of losing him altogether. It had to be somewhere I would live myself. Just as
I was about to give up I found the manager and the team at Greenacres. The care home is bright cheerful clean but intimate with a home-from-home feel the atmosphere is upbeat the staff are compassionate and caring but professional and importantly respectful of all their residents. The rooms are a great size and none of them are far away from a member of staff if needed. Dad went in December 2023 and right from day 1 it was like he had always been there all the staff made the transition for Dad and myself so easy, and after 9 months of love care patience and yummy nutritional food he is thriving, Greenacres have a superb activities team. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Greenacres to anybody

The team at Greenacres managed, what was a very unsettling and difficult transition, with wonderful care and professionalism. They supported my dad brilliantly and also made sure that the wider family was kept informed and helped to make sure that Dad was settled as easily as possible. Myself and other
family members visit regularly and Greenacres is consistently good, the space is clean, Dad's room is tidy and the standard of care is great. The food is always good and the gardens are delightful. For dementia care, the manager and the team are doing a fantastic job. Thank you

This amazing care home really was an answer to my prayers when looking for a care home for my dear brother in 2022.
When it was decided that he had to go into a care home I said it would have to be the very best that I could find and from the minute I walked in the door and was met by the manager and
her deputy manager I knew that I had found it!
The actual building was purpose-built and has the most beautiful garden but what makes it exceptional is the wonderful, friendly and caring staff from the management to all the rest of the team, too many to mention, who really care for the residents and their family members!
From a practical point of view, the rooms and the rest of the home are all regularly maintained, clean and bright as is the beautiful garden and patio area where there have been some great, fun-filled 'sports days' and summer fetes which are enjoyed by residents and families.
I can't recommend this home highly enough, simply the best!
Thank you to them all!

After researching many care homes in the area, we were lucky to find Greenacres which stood out above all others for friendliness, compassion and care. Thankfully a room became free exactly when needed and Mum has been there and settled ever since. She never wanted to be in a home, but soon started
to enjoy the interaction and people-watching!
I am always updated with a status by the team, and communication is excellent.

When my aunt first arrived in the care home she was very distraught and did not want to go on living. There were various problems along the way but as time went on, both the manager and staff dealt with them in a kind and professional manner. They did all they could to make her stay as comfortable as
possible and were always ready to give comfort, support and advice to her family. After every visit, it was hard to leave my aunt but we always felt she was in safe hands.
