My father spent his final days in Orchard Lea after being discharged from hospital.
Although his stay there was brief, every member of staff made sure that he was comfortable and that he was treated with dignity and compassion. Any questions I had were answered openly and honestly and I felt a great
comfort knowing I had their support at such a difficult period for both of us. I felt welcome at all times and will always be grateful to have been able to spend those final days with my father.

My dad stayed at Orchard Lea as part of trying to rehabilitate him after a stay in a local hospital and then a community hospital. I was really impressed by how open the management team and the staff were if I had any concerns or questions. The staff were genuinely caring and I could tell that there
was a great rapport with with my dad. As visitors, we were always made to feel very welcome, including joining my dad for lunch (and the food was delicious). Thanks to everyone at Orchard Lea - you made a difficult time much easier to cope with.

The care home is clean and smells good. The staff are very happy and very helpful. The residents look all tidy and the staff are visibly doing everything possible to make life better for the people living there. All questions asked were answered at a great standard.

Staff were lovely but it was totally unsuitable for my mother’s needs. She was left in a very outdated room, which was very depressing and needed a good coat of paint. They failed to pick up a UTI and if my brother had not visited and insisted they call 999 I do not know what would have happened. As
I said, the staff were lovely but the care inadequate and the whole place depressing and stuck in the middle of a housing estate.

My husband stayed here for a two-week respite.
I could finally relax, knowing he was in very good hands.
No issues here at all, and caring staff.
My husband always seemed relaxed and happy here.
There was always someone around to put me at ease and answer any queries I had.

My father-in-law was only at Orchard Lea for a short while. Throughout his short stay, we found all the staff to be friendly, caring and compassionate. They always kept us well-updated on his health. His room was always clean and comfortable, the home nice and warm, and we loved the light airy day room.
We are so pleased that we chose Orchard Lea for his final few weeks.

My mother has received the highest care possible. I'm so grateful. The peace of mind with this top-quality care has meant so much. The kindness with empathy in the care at all levels is the most I could ask for. This applies to all who are employed at Orchard Lea. The meals are excellent. The laundry
top form. Always so clean. Mum always has fresh clothing on and fresh bedlinen, in broad contrast to the previous care homes Mum has been in. Orchard Lea is the only home I know that I could leave her in, knowing all is well. A huge thanks to the staff and management. Mum's end-of-life days are in a place of the highest quality of care. I'll always remember each and everyone for their hard work and commitment. Thank you.

I found that Orchard Lea to be a very caring, compassionate and reliable care home.
My relative has now passed away whilst in their care.
This last year they have informed me of any concerns they have had regarding my relative, they made sure that she was always comfy and warm and when she wanted
to eat they would help her to eat.
When my relative passed away a few months ago they were with me all the way through and wouldn't care how many times I would either ring up or turn up.
It was no trouble to help sort out the room once my relative had passed.
My mum was always encouraged to keep moving especially when there was music playing, they varnished her nails lovely colours that made her smile.
I believe that mum was extremely happy there, and nothing was too much trouble. Food was really good and when mum couldn't eat they moved to soft food and always made sure there was ice cream for her. The manager and staff very always so helpful and happy. Keep up the good work.

My Dad moved to Orchard Lea in June 2019. Due to Dementia, he needed around the clock care. His needs as got more due to deterioration in health also contracting Covid in September which knocked him back, we thought he wasn’t going to pull through. After being in hospital we didn’t think he’d pull through
once back in the home and the staff worked hard. Dad was off his legs since having Covid and being hoisted in and out of bed, but he’s now gradually using his legs trying to stand and doing few steps which is wonderful to see. I do feel sometimes I’m not informed enough on things happening concerning dad. On the whole, Dad is in my knowledge well cared for. I’ve no complaints. I get a lovely welcome when visiting Dad. Always clean in Dads room and he’s always cleaned and dressed nicely with care.

My mum had the very highest standard of care. I am very grateful for everything Orchard Lea staff did for her. The home itself is always very clean and is really pleasant and comfortable. Mum had a lovely room with everything she needed to hand. The staff were wonderful. They are always willing to talk
on the phone and explain everything they are doing. They are all polite and friendly and very caring. I know mum was happy there. She enjoyed the food and was always made as comfortable as possible, right to the very end. The staff and manager are very hardworking and dedicated and I couldn't have wished for a better place for mum to spend her final days.

I have been very impressed with the care staff take to look after their residence, nothing is too much trouble for them.
They have made the transition from home to respite to residential for my mother-in-law pain-free and easy the staff have also supported us all at this difficult time.
The food
is very good and is very varied.
Through the covid lockdowns, the staff kept us all informed to what was going on and take a lot of precautions to keep things under control.
My family and I can't thank them enough for all they do.

Mum has been made very welcome since arriving in January. Everyone works very well together as a staff to provide a warm, caring experience. The staff are always busy attending to residents' needs but they never appear rushed and can always find time to answer questions or help residents with their
needs. They even manage to do manicures. Visitors are made very welcome and included in the life of the home. Food is beautifully cooked and presented.

Mum had macular degeneration, was hard of hearing, on a pureed-food and thickened-liquid diet. Aged 99, she fell at home, broke her hip, was hospitalised and unable to return home. My brother and I visited and were impressed with the manager and with the facilities and bedrooms. When mum moved in, the
carers introduced themselves to mum and I and asked how she wanted to be addressed. Mum didn’t want to leave her room and join in the activities. Even I couldn’t persuade her. One of the carers regularly manicured and varnished her fingernails. One day her pureed lunch containing cheese “wasn’t tasty enough”; the next day she had extra strong cheese. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were very friendly and often made mum laugh. During the last 3 months of her life she required extra care. They ensured she was seen by a doctor and always kept us informed. They treated her with exceptional care, compassion and dignity. They couldn’t have done anymore for her. We chose well.
