Grace Court Care Centre

I visited the care home this weekend to say a final goodbye to everyone after my father-in-law passed away recently.
I was utterly disappointed to see that the new furniture has not yet arrived after it was ordered (apparently) almost 1 year ago!
The residents are sitting on old furniture - some without
the correct cushions on, thus making the seats even lower and obviously more difficult to get up from. The dining table chairs don't have sides on and some of them are a little wobbly (I would often spot a chair where the frame was loose so I would turn it over and temporarily fix it). It's such a shame because the care is so good here, it upsets me to see this.
My father-in-law paid out a very large sum of money every week to pay for his care and I think it's so unfair that he didn't have a comfortable armchair to sit on for the remainder of his life. (He resided there for 21 months). Where is the new furniture?

My mum has been a resident at Elizabeth Court for 12 months. I find the staff and manager excellent.
Mum is looked after to a high standard, nothing is too much trouble.

My Dad was moved out of the hospital under discharge to assess in December 2020. As a family, we were not given any choice in this move or our selection of a care setting. As such we were concerned at his placement. We needn't have been. The staff were warm and welcoming. They gave us information when
we needed, and the manager was open and honest about where would best meet my Dad's future needs going forward (residential not nursing). Staff supported the LLAMS team in coming to a diagnosis. The staff were aware that he would only be with them for a short time, but they still went to the effort of carefully sorting and labelling all his clothes for him. Their warmth and support made a difficult time easier. Thank you!

In January 2020 I needed a safe, secure home for my sister. After months of searching, and constant rejection due to lack of standardized evaluations; I had reached the end of my rather. Then I came to Grace Court Care Center. I gave them her details, and Grace Court did the rest. Her care is second
to none. I have peace of mind she is safe and happy, priceless!

We find the staff at the home caring towards the residents.
Staff are always friendly when we visit - but unable to visit at present due to COVID-19. We look forward to visiting again soon.

My lovely Dad was moved to Grace Court because he needed the EMI support that they offer, he was moved under exceptional circumstances while we were in lockdown and we were so worried about him moving to somewhere new. We have to say as a family that all the staff we spoke to were just so lovely to
us and kept reassuring us that dad was ok, they didn't just give us lip service, they let us know when Dad hadn't had a good day etc... They let us go and see Dad through the window and speak to him.
Unfortunately, my Dad was only there for two weeks, and sadly passed away, but prior to him passing the manager allowed us to come in and be with him, and for that, I am so truly grateful, she was so lovely to us and made my Dads passing calm and peaceful and we were with him until the end. She looked after us during and after, that is indeed someone who cares.
Thank you to all you staff from the bottom of our hearts.

I have never been so nervous about making a decision for my mum. From our first day, we have been made to feel welcome and mum really likes being there. Even when the carers have been dealing with some quite challenging situations which can be quite regular, they keep smiling and keep everyone up. Worth
their weight in gold.

My husband is a wanderer and is allowed the freedom to walk around.
He also displays very challenging behaviour and the staff are very tolerant and understanding.

Since my mum has been in Elizabeth Court she has put weight on (which is a good thing) I find the staff are very obliging and pleasant. On the whole my mums in a good place for her care and well being with her illness.

My father-in-law became a resident in May this year. He was welcomed straight away and my initial reaction was that he would be treated with dignity and cared for. This is still my opinion. All the staff are lovely, patient and genuinely seem to care. The management are competent and have taken a lot
of the stress away from caring for a family member with dementia. Up to now, I can't say a bad word about the home or it's staff.
