The staff are very kind and helpful. My mothers room and bathroom are kept very clean. The hallways and general rooms are clean and tidy. The facilities such as hairdresser and activities are good. The food is good and there seems to be some choice. The decor is a little dated on Kestrel wing which
can make the hallways dark. I think a coffee machine in the conservatory would be a lovely addition as most people enjoy a barista type coffee as they cannot go out much. Residents could buy own pods. I think the cleaning staff and careworkers do a fantastic job and have made my mother feel at home. We have had some issues regarding laundry which has meant spending more money on clothes which have disappeared and boiling all items is not necessary. Overall a very good care home.

As an emergency respite for my Father, it was a wonderful home. The care and attention which was given was amazing. We can't thank everyone enough! I remember the nurse on duty the day we arrived, him asking my dad, "What can we do for you?" Dad replied - "A bath or a shower please?" the nurse replied,
"Of course, we can do that for you". I knew then, my dad would be cared for with compassion. They did not fail! Maintenance team - Kind and helpful. Entertainment team - welcoming fun and activities most days, wonderful! Christmas, festive activities were fantastic! Everyone welcome. Food always looked nice and nutritious. Receptionist/Management team - welcoming, approachable and very helpful. Although my father was only at Bryn Celyn for a short while, his well-being and care was wonderful. We can thank you, all the staff, enough. Best wishes to all the staff for 2025!

My father has been at Bryn Celyn, Maesteg for a few months now. Every time I've visited, the staff greet you with a smile and are very approachable. I cannot stress enough how much of a pleasure it is to visit the home.
My father is very well cared for, always clean and well looked after and also his
room is very neat and tidy. The food is excellent. There is a great selection of entertainment (especially with Christmas).
Thanks very much for your kindness and compassion all, especially working in what could be a stressful job.

I am the service user and have been at Bryn Celyn since August 2024. I was welcomed and settled into my room by the staff.
My room was prepared and decorated and I was allowed to make the room comfortable using personal items from my home.
Friends and family are welcome to visit at all reasonable
times.
The charges to the home are high but I seem to get value for the fee paid.

Keep us well informed regarding any problems with Mother-in-law. She seems very happy and well cared for. The carers are always extremely patient with her. Plenty of activities to keep her entertained. The home arranges hospital visits regarding ambulance and chaperones when required. Our experience
of the home is very good.

The home offers a warm, friendly environment, the upkeep of the home is maintained to a very high standard, inside and out.
The overall well-being of care and support needs are met. Consideration is given to individual preferences.
Many staff follow the person-centred plans, although do not always
keep up with changes. Some training is required of the use of supporting an individual to insert hearring aids along with ensuring the aid is fully operational.
We, as a family, feel that the home meets the individual needs and would like to thank everyone for the kindness and support they offer.

My mother was very happy there and was looked after until the day she died, the best decision I made was for her to go there, recommend to anyone. The staff are very caring and helpful, upstairs and down, food is lovely and catered for her needs for diabetes.

My mother appears to be well cared for. There were lots of activities at the home before Christmas. As a family, we feel that we are included and kept up to date in all aspects of her care. My mother enjoys visiting the hairdresser, also enjoys the coffee mornings. The staff appear to interact well
with the residents.

I could not ask for a better home for my mother. The home is warm and comfortable and the staff are all amazing. The choice of daily foods is really good and the quality of meals cooked is excellent. There are plenty of activities to keep residents occupied with trips out and entertainment brought in.
On the whole, there is everything there from hairdressers to nail and foot care. I am more than pleased with the care my mother receives.

My mum became a resident at Bryn Celyn February 2024. Mum's health and mobility had been in a steady decline, so even though this was the hardest decision to make, it was most certainly the best one.
Mum has the best care, her room is beautiful, staff, at all levels, are all wonderful. Mum enjoys home-cooked
food too. She is always offered a choice and can either enjoy in her room or with the other residents in the dining room.
There are quite often daily activities. Mum has a weekly newsletter in her room too so we are aware of what is going on should we wish to join her.
We had visited several other nursing homes before deciding on Bryn Celyn. Bryn Celyn was an easy choice and from the moment I walked in through the door, it felt like home.
If you are reading this, looking for a home for your loved one, please don't hesitate to get in touch with Bryn Celyn. They will help you all they can.

This is a great home, the staff are friendly, caring and engaged with the residents every day. From the start (September 2024), they have treated my aunt as an individual and engaged with her as an adult who can make choices and not as 'just another' resident.

Myself and my daughter were looking for a nursing home that could facilitate my brother who has Parkinson's and Lewy body dementia and also needed nursing care for other complaints. From the moment we rang and spoke to the receptionist about the procedure and waiting time scale, we were invited down
straight away, she is such an amazing person who made us feel at ease as soon as we met her! We were shown all around Capel Grange and we were absolutely blown away by the facility and what they do, everyone wants the best care for loved ones, so they arranged an assessment for my brother who was in the hospital, and before we knew it we were doing up a room with all his familiar bits, they put pictures up and made us feel so welcome, the receptionist introduced us to all the members of staff. My brother was transferred from the hospital into a home-from-home, I cannot praise the receptionist and all the staff enough it is unbelievable how kind, considerate, and caring they all are.

Capel Grange is an airy and spacious environment with a lovely outside garden space.
The fact that I believe every room is en suite is a bonus.
Both the care team and nursing team are exceptional.
I feel Mum is looked after well 24/7.

Bryn Celyn is warm and welcoming. The staff are attentive and caring. It took my dad a while to settle but the staff took time to encourage and support him. He is slowly taking part in the variety of activities available and is eating with new friends in the dining room.

Bryn Celyn was our first choice when looking for a nursing home for Mum as ever since our very first visit, all the staff have been pleasant, friendly and take time to say hello or chat. Nothing is too much trouble.
Mum is very happy, content and settled here and on days when she is well enough to
get up, she is always nicely groomed and dressed as she would be at home. We feel comfortable knowing she is being so well cared for.
The cleanliness of the home is superb and we particularly love having a cuppa with Mum in the cafe area.
The communication from all staff is excellent and we would feel comfortable raising a concern if one arose, as anything we want to talk about has always been treated with the utmost respect and attention.

My nan came from hospital to Bryn Celyn after a major stroke. She was welcomed with open arms and has been looked after like family. I struggled to leave her here but after a few weeks, I was very happy she was safe and cared for. The lifestyle team are sent from heaven and take Nan out and have encouraged
her to join in activities and socialise. The carers and nursing team are amazing and are always keeping me in the loop with her health. Thank you all for making a hard decision easier.
