My brother was a service user and I also work in mental health, so I know this can be very challenging. When visiting my brother I personally have had no issues and they cared for my brother with dignity and respect. The manager was always on hand if I was concerned about anything and addressed it immediately.
The staff are caring. The nurses kept me informed of any health problems my brother was facing between visits. My brother was comfortable there and seam settled in himself. Thank you to all the team keep up the good work. X

Our relative came to Needwood after being in different homes and hospital with dementia in the Staffordshire area, when he arrived he was confused, frightened and not cared for properly. After a few weeks he was mixing with the residents and staff, always laughing, smiling and singing he loved it there
like a home from home he even won resident of
Month. The staff made him feel loved, he was taken out on trips as well as the organised events at the home.sadly he died in February 2025 and will be missed.

My Dad was a resident at Needwood House for almost 6 months. In that time the staff have been amazing. The staff at Needwood House make sure he was out of his room every day, socialising , having fun and taking the residents on trips.
Near the end they made sure Dad was comfortable and there was
always someone with him, even when he passed there was always someone with him. I thought that was very respectful.
Thank you for all you have done, your brought the man i knew as my Dad back. Albeit for a short time.

The care of my mother, provided by the staff at the home during her last days of life, was excellent. As close relatives concerned for her welfare, we could not have asked for more consideration, compassion, and involvement than that provided by all members of the team.
It is extremely comforting to
know that my mother's final days were spent in such a caring environment.

I'm happy with all staff, room, food, and facilities. But some agency staff need to please remove all items from pockets before going to laundry (night staff). But everything 100% happy. I can go home knowing he is in the best of hands.

My father has received excellent care from all the staff at Limewood. The staff are friendly and professional when providing support. Communication with myself and my brother has been effective and reassuring. We feel that our father is always safe. It has been particularly beneficial when he has been
accompanied by Limewood staff when visiting hospital.

Needwood House

from Jeanette K (Niece of Resident) published on 29 October 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Our relative came to the home as an emergency admission several miles away from his usual residency and as a result of hospital discharge and the need to find a suitably resourced and compatible environment as our relative had unfortunately developed several complexities resulting in a need for accommodation
with a lift and additional resource to manage 1:1 needs. During the short time that our relative lived in the home we saw a glimmer of the old person we knew prior to him becoming unwell. The attentiveness of staff at Needwood and the pro-activeness across the frontline and management made it so easy to communicate and feel still part of our relative's life and progress. You all worked hard to build his strength back up, he began to eat and drink regularly and he remained calm as well as engaging around the home with the kindness and support of the whole team. Personalised care and support is evident and the knowledge of needs is very clear. On behalf of us all, we sincerely thank you all for your compassion.

Needwood House

from Joanne S (Daughter of Resident) published on 29 August 2024

My dad was transferred to Needwood House in February 2018 from hospital due to having a brain haemorrhage. At the start of our journey here, it was clear that the staff genuinely cared for each resident's well-being. Dad was a handful, being aggressive and just walking about aimlessly and was very hard
to look after but the expertise of the carers was second to none. I always felt that the staff showed compassion and patience, as they stayed with Dad, they were not 'in his face', they just walked around with him to make sure he was safe. The staff consistently demonstrated professionalism while going above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable and dignified. The home is clean, well maintained and this last year has had a makeover due to being taken over from a different provider. The management team were approachable and attentive to any queries or concerns I raised. I would recommend Needwood and I could not be more grateful for what they did for my dad. Thank you!

During January, February and Match 2024, considering how many visits he has had from various doctors, mental health teams, social workers etc., 3 together occasionally! Different assessments, one was a real trial via a mobile phone, held by a nurse, and a recorder. Visits by opticians (much needed).
All to help his recovery along with all the care provided by the many sectors and management at Needwood; very much appreciated.
But my son has always enjoyed his own space and freedom. His paranoia kicks in when there's loud noises. He objects to the ever presence of 1 to 1s and regularly shouts, "I want to come home."

I don't really know where to start with our journey into Needwood House, we would love nothing more than my dad to be at home with us but Needwood House is the next best thing.
From the first day when we went to look around we got this instant feeling everything was going to be ok now, socially he
is never in his room. We even joke we need to get him a diary for our visits.
He is so happy now and the change in him is so warming to see, we no longer worry if we can not get in to see him as we know he is just fine and has plenty of company.
We could not even begin to name staff who go above and beyond because every single staff member does, they are so warm and welcoming they really are amazing. They have so much care for every single resident.
We could go on and on about how amazing this home is, there are not enough words to express how much love there is all under one roof.
My biggest regret is not finding them sooner. Thank you. very happy relatives.

My dad was a resident for 16 months and during this time he felt secure, happy and well cared for. The staff are this home's biggest asset. They are caring, and considerate and we were happy when leaving Dad in their care. The nursing staff could not do enough for Dad in his final days and for this,
we are eternally grateful. I would certainly recommend this home to anyone.

The manager was friendly. My mother seems to be cared for adequately. Some residents seem to need more attention and I had to find a care nurse to deal with a quiet-voiced, elderly woman who wanted a staff member, she had no way to buzz for assistance as she was stuck, chair-bound in the front lounge
due to her body movement being very limited. My mother has nowhere else to go and is in a place that is paid for by the state/public funding.
I am glad I met the manager who I thought was a nice lady.

Needwood House gave my dad the care he desperately needed at the end of his life.
Previous experience of the care homes Dad had been in was poor so when he was offered a place at Needwood, we were sceptical. We had no need to be concerned. The team were warm, caring and considerate of Dad's needs and
challenges. The team treated Dad with the dignity he deserved. Whenever we visited they welcomed us and ensured our visit was positive, if only Dad had been there a little longer.
I would recommend Needwood House to any family who are offered a place for their loved one.

Limewood Care Home provided excellent care and assistance for my father during his last days on earth. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were very friendly and approachable and they gave us the confidence and peace of mind that my father could not have had better care. As well as caring for my

This is an excellent nursing home.
Staff are well trained and show great care in helping my sister who is living with early-onset dementia.
The room she has is perfect for her needs. The rooms are kept clean by a daily cleaner. The food is of a very high standard and served to the residents by
the team of nurses.
I particularly like the way that the home is able to deal with the different needs of residents providing them with a variety of activities and social engagements. The gardens are really impressive and are landscaped by the gardener so that residents are able to appreciate them.
Car parking is easy and visiting is unrestricted so it is easy to 'drop in' to do a quick visit.
