Aspen Lodge Residential Care Home

from P D (Stepdaughter of Resident) published on 21 October 2024

Our relative was a resident of Aspen Lodge Care Home for four and a half years. During her latter months, she was receiving end-of-life care. As her closest family members (nephew and stepdaughter) we wish to thank the team at Aspen for the care, respect and kindness that they showed to our relative
throughout, particularly during her last months when she had especially demanding health issues. Their commitment both to her well-being and to the concerns of her family were always foremost and we are comforted that this was her home at her most challenging time.

The Leylands Residential Care Home

My father moved to The Leylands in October 2019. It was immediately apparent how content he was there. The staff have, without exception, been wonderful, caring and compassionate. They looked after him and kept him safe during the whole of the pandemic and managed to deal with the lockdown element and
enforced isolation with great competence and sensitivity being aware of local restrictions and national ones. I cannot praise them highly enough for the standard of care provided over a period of almost four years. This applies to all staff including kitchen, maintenance and cleaning staff. The staff and management at all times worked together for the benefit of the residents.

Thank you for your positive feedback. The past few years have certainly been challenging and the staff have worked tirelessly to keep our residents safe and well. He will be greatly missed but we have many happy memories of the time he spent with us at The Leylands.

Aspen Lodge Residential Care Home

If you're looking for a care home where your loved one will be treated like one of the family, then this is definitely the place for them. I genuinely couldn't have asked for a more loving, caring environment for my uncle. He had some learning difficulties but the connection he had with the staff was
absolutely amazing and so heartwarming to see. Despite his cancer diagnosis, there was still plenty of laughter and happiness. In the last few days of his life, I stayed with him at the home and everyone was so kind to both him and to me - I felt one hundred per cent supported and never felt like I was dealing with it all on my own. I was given food and drinks, kind words and hugs. On a few occasions, the staff encouraged me to have some time out in a quiet lounge when everything was getting too much, and although I didn't think I needed it at the time, the difference it made to me was huge. The staff's help and their kind words come from a place of experience and love. Just wonderful.

Thank you for your kind words, your uncle was truly a part of the Aspen family. We had many laughs along the way and he will be greatly missed by all.

My dad was in The Leylands from August until December before being discharged home. The care he received was absolutely wonderful. All the staff are so kind, kept me informed and visiting was no problem. He really praises the food. Nothing was ever too much trouble, it felt like he was part of The Leylands
family.

My father went into The Leylands in early October 2022 and stayed there for nearly six weeks. I cannot thank the manager and the wonderful staff enough. They were so caring with Dad and even accommodated our wishes for Dad to get Punjabi vegetarian food. They were all brilliant at communicating and
keeping us up-to-date too. Thank God for people like you, and for the job you do.

I cannot heap enough praise on the whole team at Leylands for the way they are caring for my 94-year-old mom. She was moved there from Fairoak at Cannock. She has dementia plus other serious health issues. In hospital, she was bed bound, unresponsive and refusing to eat or drink. Now, after just 2 weeks,
she is joining in with activities, eating food she has never tried before and yesterday, she actually walked into the visiting room, with the help of the carers, with a smile on her face - something I didn't think I would see her do again! They have given her a level of dignity and independence. Whatever the future holds, I will be eternally grateful to them all for the care and compassion they have shown her and for giving me a bit of my mom back.

My mum has been there since March 2021, they have always taken the best care of her throughout her stay until she passed away. They made sure she was comfortable and arranged palliative care for her. I was always kept informed of her health and any problems that arose. They have been very supportive
of me, very caring, I can't thank them enough.

My dad was admitted to Aspen Lodge for end of life care and was there for 2 weeks. The management and staff were absolutely amazing, not only in their care of my dad but also in the way that they looked after us as well. Nothing was too much trouble for them, dad was treated with the respect and dignity
he deserved and the staff went above and beyond to make sure that the family were looked after too. Even though there was quite a lot of us visiting, there were no restrictions on numbers and they allowed us to stay overnight with him during his last few days. I cannot praise these wonderful people enough for everything they did for our family during a very sad time and for helping dad to pass peacefully and with the dignity he deserved. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this sad time a little more bearable for us.
