Im extremely happy with the care that my sister is receiving at Ash Grove even though her illnesses are complexed the care she receives are excellent, staff are always in attendance or on hand for her.
I find there is always staff to talk to about my sister and are great at updating me on how she
is and will always include me in her daily life
Although the home is an old building there are renovations being done but this has not had any effect on the care that my sister receives

This home has helped my mum and supported myself so much since bringing my mum here. The staff are so friendly and I'm always welcomed with a smile and they always keep me updated with anything that goes on. My mum receives fantastic care with meal plans, personal care and activities, but most importantly
she is treated with dignity. Finding out my mum has dementia was very difficult for myself, but the people here have helped support me with advice amd even just talk to me about how my day was. I fully recommend this home to anyone who has a family member or friend who needs care.

Sandy Banks Care Home

from Michael M (Son of Resident) published on 17 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

After having trouble correctly placing my dad in the correct type of care home I cannot thank the staff and management of Sandy Banks care home enough. They are more than attentive and professional. They really care about my dad and his well-being and have given peace of mind to my sister and I after
what has been a very trying 8 months or so. He has required hospital visits whilst being a resident and they have had constant communication with the hospital even sending staff members with him to ensure his well-being, regular doctor checks at the home, chiropodist visits and also a hairdresser. They have entertainment for the residents who wish to join in and for those who don't several areas where residents can relax.
Thank you very to everyone at Sandy Banks for looking after my dad and giving us peace of mind that he is being well looked after.

All the staff at Sandy Banks Care Home have been wonderful, their devotion and care has been outstanding. They were always so kind and caring and nothing was too much trouble when anything was asked of them. It was a home from home for our mum and we always felt welcomed on our visits as a family to
see her. The staff gave exemplary care at a time when mum needed it most, I can not praise or thank them enough.

My father has lived in Byron Court Nursing Home for more than twelve months. From our very first visit, we were impressed by the staff, their helpful and caring attitude and the cleanliness of the building. My father settled in very well and from the outset has been happy and comfortable there.

Mum became a resident in Sandy Banks in October 2019 due to her dementia deterioration during the COVID lockdown restrictions. Although we couldn't visit, she was made to feel very welcome by the Manager, staff and care team and settled in really well. Sandy Banks Care Home is well-led with a dedicated
team who provide outstanding professional support and care at all times. Mum was always treated with kindness, patience, dignity and the upmost respect during her time in the home and was always encouraged to join in the various activities each day which were adapted to individual resident needs. During the end-of-life phase, the whole team showed empathy and compassion not only to Mum but to family members with their continued daily updates and support for which we are forever grateful. Would highly recommend Sandy Banks Care Home as they always go the extra mile and consider each resident's requirements/needs before making any decisions.

My dad was only in Byron Court Nursing Home for a couple of weeks but he was treated with kindness and respect at all times.
Staff were kind, friendly, professional and always had time to talk to me and my family. Little details were attended to and the greatest care given.
I cannot speak highly enough

After a very stressful few months of trying to find a new care home for Mum, we found Sandybanks, a home that cares. From the day we moved Mum in, we felt in safe hands. To visit now and see the difference in Mum in the short time she has been at Sandybanks is quite unbelievable, the care and support
all the staff have given to me, my sister, and of course, most importantly, to Mum has been more than we could have wished for.
The home is spotlessly clean.
It's only been a few weeks since Mum moved in, but we now leave after a visit knowing she is cared for, and that's all that matters.

My mum was diagnosed with dementia, she went to Byron Court Nursing Home originally for respite care, this was a difficult time for the family as a previous attempt with another care provider was really negative. From walking into Byron, my sister and I felt welcomed, all of the staff were professional
and so friendly! From handyman, domestics, admin, activities coordinator, kitchen staff, carers, nurses and management - and of course, the residents, make the place a very friendly and compassionate place to be. Mum settled in really quickly and ended up staying as a resident, she's always smiling, looks safe and well and most importantly, engaged and enjoys banter with staff! I feel really welcome whenever I visit and enjoy spending time there, the staff really care about Mum and have supported the whole family through some really difficult times, they are an amazing group of people, I hope they all get some recognition from positive reviews and they feel valued as the committed staff team that they truly are.

My dad has been at Byron Court Nursing Home for two years now, even though it was really hard to make that decision I knew it was the best. My dad has settled in well and the staff are lovely, they always give me good feedback on my dad when I attend the care home or ring up. The staff always go around
being happy and making sure my dad is okay. Tthere is always music on or the telly for the residents. If anyone was looking to put a loved one in a care home, would highly recommend Byron Court.

My sister moved to Byron Court at the end of February 2024 from assisted care as her overall health had deteriorated and she needed nursing care. I have found the home very inviting, the staff have been very caring, helpful, and thoughtful towards my sister and have been very sensitive as she has adjusted
to her new home and environment. The home is well managed, is clean and the food provided is excellent.
Overall I am pleased that my sister is being cared for in a compassionate way and is being given the best care possible by caring staff. Any concerns that I have had have been immediately dealt with by the staff and management. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who requires nursing care.

We moved my mum from a mediocre care home to Byron Court. Best decision we ever made for my mum. She is so much happier. The staff are amazing, nothing's too much trouble. They keep everything fun and happy for all their residents. Music's always playing, everyone is lively. They also make sure the
families of the residents are happy. The member of staff who greeted us to look around said they are here for my mum and us, her family, and they truly are. I feel like I can finally breathe, as I know my mum is well cared for. Thanks so much to all the staff.

Mum, who suffers from severe dementia, has been resident at Sandy Banks for 9 months. Her care here has been outstanding and little things that had been a problem at her previous care home have been resolved or just magically disappeared. Mum is happy and since a daytime personal was instituted by the
home in coordination with social services has been a lot more engaged with her surroundings. Mum is getting all the care she needs and the family are all extremely happy with the care she is receiving.
