Tonbridge House Care Home

from Gary K (Son of Resident) published on 11 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother arrived at Tonbridge House in November 2024. Right from the start she was made to feel comfortable and welcome. She has found all members of staff to be kind and helpful, and all queries from myself and my wife on various matters have been answered promptly and efficiently.
Her en suite room
is light and pleasant and is always kept spotlessly clean, as are all the attractive common areas of the care home and the gardens.
At mealtimes, there is a choice of dishes with the option of a lighter or snack meal if this is preferred. All have been enjoyed.
My thanks to all concerned for facilitating my mother's transition to living in residential care.

I had been struggling to care for my husband's deteriorating Alzheimer's and really needed a break. I was so lucky to find Barley Manor, brand new with wonderful facilities so close to home. All the staff were welcoming, helpful and so empathetic. I was anxious about how he would settle in, and it took
a few days, but thanks to the kind and supportive staff he eas happy there and even joined in the activities.

Lincroft Meadow Care Home

from N S (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mum has been at Lincroft Meadow Care Home since February when she stayed for respite care when Dad went into hospital. Unfortunately, Dad passed away and Mum's stay became long-term. We cannot praise the staff enough for helping Mum who has dementia to settle in at what has been a very difficult time.
The care and kindness shown is fantastic. We were worried about Dad's funeral but the staff were amazing. They reserved a quiet area for family members to meet beforehand and thoughtfully provided refreshments. A staff member also discreetly attended the service in case we needed support with Mum and was there to welcome her back afterwards. This took a lot of the worry out a difficult day. It is a relief to the family to know Mum is being so well cared for. There are lots of lovely activities organised at the home and we appreciate the staff taking the trouble to gently encourage Mum to join in. If we need to talk anything over, there is always someone available. Thank you Lincroft.

From the moment we were shown round, my daughter and I knew there was no doubt this was the place where my husband should spend his last days. From the management right through to the carers, the care & support were outstanding. Unfortunately he was not able to fully appreciate the activities as he

Review of

Hartfield House Care Home

from C A (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

My mother was there from October 2024 to January 2025. The care she received was sub standard. The carers were OK, but there weren't enough of them so she didn't receive the care she should have. She had recurring UTIs because they didn't retest her and when they did they lost the results twice. At
no time did a doctor see her even though we requested it. There was no help integrating with other residents. It was a very lonely place for her. We actually ended up paying for someone to go in twice a week to care for her! She ended up with very bad back pain but still didn't call a doctor or get an X-ray. She was taken to hospital when it got so bad and she died 8 days later of a UTI, kidney problems and sepsis.
The regional director was looking in to the problems, and hopefully they are better, but I don't know if it's improved.
I wish my mother had never entered Hartfield House. I'm really not sure how you know whether a home is going to be good before someone becomes a resident.

Reply from Matthew Anstee-Brown, Regional Director at Hartfield House Care Home

We continue take the utmost pride in the care we provide at Hartfield House and are sorry that you felt this way about the overall care your mother received during her time with us. We proactively investigated all concerns that were raised and gained positive feedback on the changes that had been implemented while your mother was still living with us. We would like to pass on our sincere condolences to you and your family at this difficult time. Should you wish to discuss this further please do get in touch.

Cavell Park Care Home is, without a doubt, the nicest care home I have ever visited. The premises are like a 5-star hotel. The staff (all of them) were absolutely delightful, extremely helpful and always available. I visited with two other friends and we had lunch in the private dining room. Food was

Chiltern Grange Care Home

from Janet T (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

We needed a care home, emphasis on care, for my Dad, he was on palliative/end of life care and was welcomed, as was all his family, (and family dogs) with open arms and the care and consideration that you would hope and pray for, is exactly what is provided at Chiltern Grange, in abundance.
My Dad
was only with Chiltern Grange for around 17 days and yet in that short space of time, Chiltern Grange became our new normal, and a new home. To be able to spend every minute with Dad was priceless, as one member of the family left another couple arrived and so it went on. From the minute you step through the first set of doors you're made to feel like family and welcomed with open arms.
The food was lovely, help yourself to drinks and snacks at the Bistro in the reception area.

Reply from Jemimah Guinto, Home Manager at Chiltern Grange Care Home

Thank you for taking a moment to leave us such a heartfelt review during this difficult time. It was an honour to care for your dad, and we miss him dearly. Please know you are always welcome at Chiltern Grange.

from D G (Respite Resident) published on 31 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

After I had been in hospital, my daughter and I looked at my having a period of rest and recuperation In a care home. We planned to visit Barley Manor.. Before this happened I had a fall and we decided to ask for a quick admission. The manager himself came to set up the move and to answer all our questions.
The move took place two days later and it was as easy as checking into an hotel. My ground floor single room with en-suite overlooked a peaceful garden area and it was of a good size. The building itself was very well provided with public rooms including lounges, dining room, hairdresser, cafe, cinema and gym. The food was of good quality especially the cakes and desserts and i could have had any of the meals as room service.
It's all about the quality of the staff. They were all friendly and very well trained for their roles and were responsive to any concerns. Nothing was too much trouble. The management is to be congratulated.
This sets the gold standard for carehomes.

Review of

Savernake View Care Home

from Kate S (Daughter of Resident) published on 26 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

From the moment my mother arrived at Savernake View she was treated like a VIP and the nurses could not have done enough to make her stay comfortable and jolly. It was lovely for me to be able to visit as often as I did and to be there as her daughter rather than her carer which I had been for the previous
months. I got to spend extra quality time which was so precious. I also thank you and the team for protecting mum against estranged family challenges and making mum's welfare a priority in those situations.
My thanks to the Management team for making mum's admission a swift and stress free experience and my thanks to all the wonderful nursing team. I didn't get to know all of the nurse's names but I did get to know all the smiles and saw how well they looked after mum. You have a wonderful, kind and caring team who looked after my mother exceptionally well and for that I will always be grateful.

My mother has been at Woodland Manor for 11 months. I cannot speak highly enough about the care she receives. At The Manor the management and staff are so kind and caring. The facilities are first class and the food is excellent.
Mum is happy here. My sister and I know that she is well looked after.

The staff are all friendly and approachable, and barring a bit of lack in communication when mum first moved in, all have been good.

Was so impressed from just walking into reception, felt like a five star hotel, amazing welcome, amazing staff, top quality food & beverages. Residents seemed so happy, even danced to the amazing vocalist singing for everyone. Very impressed, I would love to come here when I'm older.

I visited the home and everyone was so welcoming and friendly. It was a lovely room and the staff were very helpful, I would definitely recommend. The weekly activities are great. Only wish they had made the move sooner!
