I really feel I could not have came to a better place to recover from what had been a very serious operation. It would have been impossible to go straight home from hospital.
All the staff have been kind, supportive, encouraging and professional. I now feel confident that I am returning home to carry
on with the next steps on my recovery! Thank you to everyone and I shall miss you also the other residents have been friendly - shall miss them too!

It was so hard having to move my father into a care home although we had run out of other options for care. However, we chose the right one! Horkesley Manor are taking very good care of my father. There is a good ratio of male carers which is good for him and his dignity. All the staff from cleaners
to managers are good. Whenever we have had concerns the management team have been quick and transparent and very professional to deal with our concern. There are a good range of activities and interaction available if that is what your loved one would like.

From the start of my mums stay here, the care and attention she has received has been excellent her room has a beautiful view and she's very happy which is the main thing. If there's been any concern for me (as this is a first for us) the deputy manager has been so wonderful in her time and advice which
is invaluable. The staff all know my mum by her first name which is very comforting for her and make her feel special - which she is.

Stowlangtoft Hall

My grandmother was cared for at Stowlangtoft Hall for a couple of months at the end of her life. The care and compassion she was shown throughout her stay was hugely appreciated. It was a difficult time for us as a family as well, and we always felt supported and cared for, particularly in my grandmother's
final days. It goes without saying that the setting is stunning with beautiful grounds and a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. But what sets Stowlangtoft Hall apart is the incredible staff. Everyone from the carers to nurses, cleaning staff, management team, activities ladies and catering staff, all go above and beyond. It's clear that the team really care about what they do. The carers and nurses do an incredible job and always treated my grandmother with kindness and respect, which was so appreciated. She was even given a lovely birthday with cake, candles and birthday present the week before she passed away. I will always be grateful to everyone at SH for their outstanding care.

Reply from Charlie Diamond, Marketing and Communications Lead at Stowlangtoft Hall

Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words. It means a great deal to know that our team's care and compassion provided comfort to your grandmother and your family during such a difficult time. We're especially touched that her birthday was a special moment for her and those around her. Your appreciation for every member of our team is truly humbling, and we're honoured to have been part of her journey.

My mother's standard of care was more than excellent , with highly skilled and very caring, committed staff at all levels providing personalised care , helping her to feel valued, respected and cared for in her end of life care . Excellent food was always provided , plus extra special touches of a
beautiful gift and a birthday cake in the last week of her life. As visitors our family we were always made welcome with friendly smiles and an cuppa. All staff knew the updated situation as my mother's health declined . We always felt confident that there was excellent communication between staff and with us visiting . The building and decor were also of the highest standards of quality and cleanliness; spacious so that all residents were afforded quiet and privacy . A full programme of seemingly excellent activities were offered although Mum was too ill to take part . In summary , superb care for my mother as a resident and superb care for our family members visiting her .

The home itself is in a beautiful setting and feels peaceful and calm. Staff are pleasant and welcoming to visitors. My Nan spent her last few weeks here and although it was difficult to see her declining physically and mentally she had dignity thanks to the kind and respectful care provided here. Her
room was very pleasant and the food very good. Staff went the extra mile to help her celebrate her 97th birthday. Thank you to all at Stowlangtoft Hall.

My Mum spent the final few months of her life at Melford Court.
The staff were amazing. They were patient and caring of both my Mum and myself. They supplied her with drinks and biscuits when she wanted them - no matter what the time of day or night!! They were there for me when I needed a shoulder
to cry on when things got too much for me as Mum neared the end of her life.
When the time came, they were respectful of Mum's wishes and made sure she was comfortable.
She was happy staying at Melford Court, and I was able to relax knowing she had the 24-hour care she needed.

My father-in-law stayed at Ford Place Thetford during end-of-life care. From the start of his care in December to the 18th February when he passed the staff were outstanding. The manager was attentive and supportive in every situation we went through. The home administrator was so genuinely caring and
supportive throughout the whole time of his care. The nurses were so compassionate and caring towards my father-in-law and they showed him dignity and respect until the very end. I will always be thankful to all of the staff at Ford Place for the outstanding care he received. I will always be thankful to the nurses for the respect and care they gave to him. My mother was cared for in Cedars Place from January 2023 to November 2024. We were really happy with the care she received. The staff were kind and caring and showed real patience. Everyone was always happy to have a chat with us whenever we visited. The activities on offer were really varied and
she enjoyed taking part in some of them. We were always happy when we left after a visit that she was being well looked after.
The staff were supportive and exceptionally caring at the difficult time of her end of life care. We cannot thank them enough for looking after her for nearly the last two years of her life. We would definitely recommend Cedars Place.

Brandon Park

from Simone M (Daughter of Resident) published on 29 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Dad passed away in hospital in June 2024. Both parents had been residents at Brandon Park since December 2019 (Mum), January 2020 (Dad).
Within days of Dad's 2020 arrival, both parents were moved to a lovely double room to share, where their different and complex medical/health needs were met with
utmost care and dignity.
After Dad's passing, the compassion and sensitive understanding shown was absolutely first-rate! The care shown by the Brandon Park "family", from director-level to carers at every level, we couldn't have been better cared for. Not said at all lightly, they all feel like an extension of our caring, warm family.
Mum's deteriorating vascular dementia was worsened by the upset of losing Dad; her husband, best friend and partner of almost 65 years. When Mum needed to be moved to a smaller, single room, it was handled with such caring sensitivity, forethought, kindness, compassion and grace that cannot be faulted.
Thank you so much!

The home administrator at Brandon Park organised a fantastic trip to the pantomime. I was able to sit with Dad on the bus which accommodated his wheelchair.
