Simply put, I cannot rate Woodfield highly enough. Mum was recently diagnosed with cancer and although not officially diagnosed is demonstrating signs of dementia. Going from being fully independent to requiring full-time care, including oxygen in such a short time has been devastating for us. The team
at Woodfield are amazing. Mum's condition means she is often very confused, her attitude can be aggressive which it really pains me to say but the team are brilliant with her, always patient and caring. They can usually get a smile from her even on her bad days when she can't be bothered with family. We visit Mum often and we are always made welcome and provided with updates. The team are always happy to talk to us. Leaving Mum is always difficult but it's a huge difference and comfort to us knowing she is being looked after. Thank you!

I cannot thank nor praise staff enough for their care and dedication extended to my wife who suffers from dementia. Unfortunately she is bedbound and unable to do anything for herself, relying on staff for her meals, liquid intake and other essential functions. Sometimes I do think staff could be a
bit more proactive but readily act if a request is made to them. Dental and oral hygiene continues to be an issue.

Mum came into Woodfield Grange Care Home on 21 November 2024. She had previously been in hospital after a fall and mini stroke. She spent 4 weeks in transition in another care home. She became down and depressed. She didn't want to interact with anyone and just stayed in her room. My husband and I looked
at a few alternative care homes but didn't feel any would be good for Mum. We came across Woodfield Grange and arranged a visit. On our visit we both felt this was the right environment for Mum. We were invited to take Mum for a visit and have her lunch there. This we did. As soon as we took Mum in she seemed to brighten up. The staff were very welcoming. Mum has been there a week and already she is going into the lovely bright lounge and eating her meals with the other residents. She has started to walk with the aid of her walker again, which she hasn't done for quite a while. We find the staff very attentive both to Mum and us. It seems like Mum has a new lease of life.

I have been visiting my friend once or twice a week since she moved into Woodfield Grange seven months ago. There is a friendly atmosphere. The staff are cheerful, caring and always willing to help. My friend's health and general well-being have improved in the time she has been there. She is content
and grateful to the staff. The nursing manager was particularly helpful and knowledgeable during our meeting with the community healthcare professionals and social worker. Thank you.

After my aunty was transferred to this nursing home from hospital, where she spent nearly ten weeks, we have been absolutely delighted with all aspects of her care. The home is extremely clean and very pleasant. All the staff are very caring, helpful and friendly. Her room is warm and her bed and bedding
is extremely comfortable for her (she unfortunately is now bedbound). The home has a very calm and caring atmosphere about it and we are just so glad that she was sent here!

My mum stayed at Woodfield Grange for 2 weeks respite to give me and my wife a break. The staff were great and really took good care of her, especially the activities coordinator as Mum likes to engage with activities that she enjoys. The room was clean and tidy and well laid out. Mum really enjoyed
the food and said the portion sizes were just right with a good choice of options available. While looking for a home for Mum we spoke to a few places but the manager at Woodfield Grange stood out, he seemed very knowledgeable and passionate.

The staff at the care home were amazing and devoted to looking after my late uncle.
My issue is that when he entered the care home he had to submit a £5000 deposit, this should have been refunded 28 days after we terminated the care when he died. It is now 117 days and we have not received any refund
and are unable to contact the management team that deals with refunds. I would like to warn all relatives that this appears to be a deliberate act to hold on to family's monies.

Reply from Paul Lawson, National Sales Manager at West Ridings Care Home

Thank-you very much for your review and feedback. We extend our continued and heartfelt condolences for the recent loss of your dear uncle. The refund has been paid in full into your bank account and we apologise that it took longer than expected to finalise. Thank-you for your kind comments about the staff team and we send our very best wishes to you and the family.

My mother has been a resident for 5 months now. The staff are very caring, and supportive and go above and beyond o show respect and compassion to the residents.
They are truly an asset to the home!
Rooms are clean and well presented and feel very homely and the home as a whole feels very secure with
a pleasant atmosphere.
The manager is very visible, approachable and helpful and he too seems to truly care about the resident's wellbeing. Keep up the good work!

Welcoming environment with people who care about their roles within the care home looking after the residents. The staff keep you fully up to date with my loved one. The resident's drinking cups and water jugs could do with reviewing as some are stained, but other than that it's good.

Overall my father had a very good experience at Woodfield Grange. Unfortunately, due to mobility issues, he was unable to leave his room but he commented and we witnessed lovely care from everyone who worked there and it was so reassuring seeing my father laugh and joke and feel comfortable with everyone
who dealt with him. The only slight issue is that the rooms are on the small side so tight when using the hoist etc and there was an issue with another resident which unfortunately took a long time to deal with. Thank you again for taking care of my father.
