My father has been in Bankouse Care Home for 6 years, it has been a very positive stressfree time for myself and my family. We have had no issues or complaints at all, he has had no falls, accidents, or any real illnesses since going to Bankhouse. When we visit, we are treated with respect and find
the home to be very caring and friendly, we feel it has a very family feel there. Nothing is too much for the staff, even if it is busy, they find time to answer our questions and we are never felt to be in the way or a nuisance there. My father loves singing and is encouraged by the brilliant two staff members in particular to enjoy himself. I cannot put into words how grateful I am that he is being so cared for and loved by all the staff at Bankhouse. I leave there with no worries at all as I know he is very well looked after. He is always spotlessly clean. Thank you to everyone that takes the time to make my father and all the residents feel as if they matter. We as a family appreciate it so much thank you.

My husband has been a resident at Rozelle Nursing Home for three years, suffering from Alzheimer's, and I strongly believe that he is still with us in part due to the care and compassion he receives at Rozelle. I am grateful to all the staff.

My mum is very happy at Ashton Park Care Home. The staff are very caring, helpful and fun. I visit regularly and am always made welcome. Mum has gained all the weight she lost before becoming a resident. The food is excellent, freshly cooked ingredients and all the things Mum enjoys. Mum loves having
her hair and nails done every week. Her clothes are immaculate which is so important to her, Mum loves clothes. Mum is treated with respect and dignity, she has a choice of time to get up/go to bed, what to wear, what to eat, personal belongings in her room. Her room is spotless. The staff now know her well and recognise immediately if she is not herself. Communication between staff, health and myself is excellent. I looked at several homes before Mum came to Ashton Park and I am so glad she became a resident here, she has become one of the big family.

Dad has Alzheimer's and came to the home in February 2024. He had problems settling and wanted to leave at first. The staff were amazing and dealt with his worries with kindness and reassurance. We went through a time where he felt unsafe and again with reassurance we seem to be making good progress.
He now seems settled and loves the staff to bits. I feel really reassured that any problems will be dealt with sympathetically.

I am SO pleased we found Bankhouse. Dad arrived in a bad way 18 months ago and significantly improved within a few months. Every aspect has been first-class. We have always been delighted with the professionalism and genuineness of everyone. Dad was a retired professional with a great deal of world
experience and whilst he was a gentle soul he was very particular, had high expectations and full mental capacity. I'm so pleased he felt very at home at Bankhouse (as a self funder he was able to relocate if he wanted to). Staff were always available, welcoming, warm and cheerful. It was a huge comfort to know Dad was in such lovely care and such a kind environment.

My Mother has been a resident for a couple of years. She is very happy and settled here. The staff are kind and from what I have seen always treat the residents with care, dignity, and respect. My Mother is looked after, happy and safe which is important. My only issue is that I don't always feel welcomed
as a visitor by some of the staff.

My mother has been a resident in the Avenue since 2021 and last week celebrated her 104th birthday. We are happy with her care and she is very fond of the staff smiling whenever they come to her room. She still enjoys her meals and drinks well, if in the mood!

I found my wife's illness extremely hard to cope with, to be honest, but the staff here are so compassionate and understanding to myself and my Wife I am just about coping now whereas I was going downhill rapidly. It is the first time we have been apart in 64 years of marriage.
A huge thank you to

Bankhouse Care Home

I cannot recommend this place. My father was not looked after as he should have been. They thought he was too demanding but his real problem was he was going blind and his mobilty was gone so couldn't do things for himself. They couldn't cope with his needs and asked him to leave to find another placement.
He was 89. He got dehydrated and taken into hospital. The pains he had were not taken seriously sometimes and the problem he had was kidney stones. He died of sepsis. He was unhappy there as he wasn't taken seriously. He was of sound mind. Some staff were friendly but some shouldn't be carers. They always said they were understaffed and he would have to wait. Over an hour one time to go to the toilet when I was there waiting with him. Not right at all. Dignity out the window. There needs to be improvement and more empathy. They are supposed to be made comfortable and homely before they come to their end of life. Not to be made to feel they are a nuisance.

Reply from Andrea, Manager at Bankhouse Care Home

We are sorry to hear that you felt your father had a poor experience in our home. For context, we agreed to take your father after he had already been at three other care homes - homes that could not meet his needs or/and family expectations of what service he should be receiving.
As many families will appreciate, in very busy periods of the day, the staff may have two to three dozen residents that wish to use the toilet after lunches or dinners. The staff can only go as quick as they can during these periods and therefore some residents will have to wait. We need to honour their dignity and rights and therefore cannot demand or force they use the toilet before they wish to do so. During one 12hr shift your father used the staff call buzzer over 100 times. We cared for your father as best we could in a compassionate and loving way but we fully appreciate expectations will differ from family to family. May he rest in peace.

Have always found staff to be very pleasant and caring. Nursing home as a very homely atmosphere. My mother is happy living there and finds all staff very good. Her needs are being met and she is no longer anxious about her future. For me, it is a joy to see her less anxious and content. I am convinced
it is due to the care she is receiving. I have no hesitation in recommending this nursing home.

We want to thank all of you for your kindness, compassion, and the best care ever that you gave our Dad. You made all of us feel so welcome from day one, and we had such peace of mind knowing he was safe and comfortable with you at all times.
Saying 'Thank you' does not seem enough as the dedication
and care Dad received exceeded all of our expectations. Each and every one of you are a credit to your profession and should be very proud of what you do.
