Due to Mum's dementia worsening, we moved her into Charters Court in November 2024.
Thanks to the wonderful carers she settled really well and really quickly.
Everyone is so welcoming and helpful, it's a joy to visit.


We are all so pleased to find a care home that truly cares, with great entertainment

and wonderful surroundings. I tell Mum she is staying in a 5* hotel, and I'm not far from the truth!

We can not thank all the staff at Stamford Court enough, for their kindness and care during our dads short visit. He was adamant that he didn't want to die in hospital and Stamford Court staff, provided him with respect, dignity and compassion during his end of life care. His final hours were peaceful
and calm, even though family were upset. The staff on duty were empathic and supportive, offering tea and comfort, where/when needed.
The home is comfortable, clean and the staff are compassionate, when dealing with the resident and their family.
If your loved one, needs a peaceful and dignified space for recovery from illness or end of life care, then I highly recommend Stamford Court.

Mum care to the care home on Monday for respite. She is 90 and was very nervous about it all. The staff have been amazing in helping her to settle, especially the manager who is so friendly and supportive and understood hard for family members as well. My dad found it hard and married for 70 years.
All staff are caring and helpful. It is a very clean place and everyone is treated with dignity. Early days for Mum but very impressed with Ebor Court.

Staff can't do enough. They are always pleasant and helpful. The rooms clean and warm. Food is lovely and plenty full. When weather permits the residents are either in the garden to things or being take out. (Knitting club,shopping,bingo). They even have entertainment for the resident to get involved
with eg sing along, excise club even a local farm bring in the animals to the residents to meet and a local school children read to the residents.

My Dad moved in following a hospital stay. To say he wasn't keen was an understatement - he was a fiercely independent 94 year old and didn't give this up willingly. However, he soon settled in and joined in with whatever was going on. My Mum also moved in and I was happy with the care they received.
When my Dad died, a staff member spent her day off accompanying my Mum to his funeral - such a lovely thing to do. When my Mum died, she was treated with so much dignity and I was given time to grieve and be with her, an experience I didn't have when my Dad died in the hospital.
There are some lovely people working here whom I have the utmost respect for. They do a great job, sometimes in difficult circumstances, with the residents and their families. They should never underestimate the impact they have.

My Dad has had a number of visits for regular respite over the past 18 months and I cannot express how much easier the process is knowing he is going to Haywood Lodge. Rooms are beautifully decorated, light and airy, staff are caring and understanding and take time to understands his needs. They take
into account his routine at home, and try to follow a similar routine. At every request, staff take time to try to accommodate requests to make Dad's stay is the best it can be. Food is of excellent quality, they appreciate that he is only visiting, and accommodate his eating patterns from home so that the transition in and out are as smooth as possible. Haywood Lodge is managed by a great team, led by the manager, who finds time to not only manage the home, but to ensure that residents and families are happy. She will always make time for you and goes above and beyond to make sure that at each visit Dad is listened to and encouraged to make the best of his time in respite.

I had to find respite care at very short notice for my father. One of the staff members was fantastic and completed all of the paperwork and assessment within 24 hours and dad went in the same day. He was quite unwell when he went in. But the staff soon had him back on his feet and within hours he was
eating and making friends. My dad is very fussy about his food. But he was very happy with the choice and quality. He loved the room he was given and found it was very comfortable. The care home itself is very clean and does not smell like most care home. I have visited. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and everyone seem so happy and cheerful. If I ever had to go into a care home, I would hope to go to Sedgley Court.

I cannot express how shockingly awful this care home is! Whenever I saw mum she was sitting all alone in her room, as were all of the residents. There was no encouragement to sit in the communal sitting room. We moved our mum to Redesdale because they advertised activities every morning and afternoon
from Monday to Friday: this was pure fabrication. They never did any activities and, when we asked the staff, they had no idea what we were talking about. Looking back, we realise that there could never have been any activities because they didn't have a functioning lift for 18 months! So they could not possibly have taken all of the residents downstairs on the one stair lift. Mum developed a bed sore in early June and the staff at Redesdale refused to turn her every 2 hours, despite this being recommended, and didn't buy the appropriate mattress. One of the causes of her death was that bed sore. Be very careful - of all the care homes I have seen this is the worst.

It was a very worrying time when I had to visit care homes for my mam, but when I visited Ashton Grange, I immediately got a good 'vibe'. My mam has now lived there since June 2024. Due to her illness my mam can have outbursts but the staff and manager of the floor are all extremely helpful and reassure
me at all times, my mam is in safe hands.
