My mother is currently a resident at Roby House - Both my mother and the family have nothing but praise for the staff and the care provided here. There are numerous activities on a daily basis and residents are regularly asked what their interests are to make sure there's something for everyone, should
they wish to join in. Nothing is too much trouble. All residents and their families are treated with utmost respect. I can't praise this establishment enough. Thank you.

My mum was a resident at Fazakerley House for the last four months of her life and thoroughly enjoyed her time here. The staff are just wonderful. I really can't recommend the care home enough. The manager is fabulous. The environment is definitely a home away from home. Cheerful and friendly. I know
I keep saying this, but I can't thank you all enough for mum's care.

Fazakerley House has been a change of living for my mum aged 88/89. She suffers for Alzheimer/Dementia. She has settled in so well and me/wife can see 100% improvement in herself. She seems so content in herself were she is. All the staff keep it bright upbeat. Mum likes the food in general we/all are
very pleased with Fazakerley House. Such a calm atmosphere for all residents.

My husband has been in Leighton Court for three months. He has settled in ok my husband has some challenging needs and the carers treat him with dignity and kindness. The nurses in charge listen to you if you have any concerns eg. medication. The food is all homemade really tasty. The laundry comes
back lovely and fresh. The rooms are cleaned daily and are nice. There are activities every day. As a family we are happy we chose this home.

Moss View Care Home

from F L (Daughter of Resident) published on 25 February 2025

I am thankful for the care my mum is getting at Moss View. Leisure activites generate happiness and social interaction. For instance, at the end of January 2025, the nursing home was beautifully decorated to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Residents watched a fireworks display on TV, listened to traditional
folk songs and had Asian cuisine. The lion dance performance by the staff was really amazing. Residents and their relatives greeted each other in a joyous atmosphere and had a cultural exchange happily. The efforts paid by the staff are highly appreciated.

from Kelly M (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My dad has only been here a fortnight and although health-wise I know he won't get any better, he seems more alert since being here and able to speak more than he could in hospital. He is also eating a little bit and drinking with assistance, which he wasn't doing previously. I'm normally able to find
fault in everything, I do love a good moan but I honestly can't fault this place so far. Every member of staff I have spoken to has been lovely and the whole place feels like a big family. Despite my dad's needs, everyone still speaks to him with so much respect and they always make sure he's ok. I believe they genuinely do care about the residents, rather than it just being a job and I would happily recommend this place to anyone. I doubt I'll ever be able to thank the staff enough for their compassion and patience. When I visit my dad, I leave knowing he's not alone and he is safe, comfortable and well looked after. As a daughter, I couldn't ask for more than that.

Review of

Broadoak Manor Care Home

from A J (Relative of Resident) published on 21 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

Most staff and residents looked dirty, with dirty uniforms. Toilet paper on toilet floors and passageways. Incontinence pads left on the floor of rooms and also left beside sink. One pad found under resident's pillow! Activities are television 24/7 or armchair exercises. Communication poor between resident's
family and themselves, to the point of non-existant. Carers appear to sit around dining tables talking rather than talking to residents or actively doing duties.

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We have also responded to your Google review and your relative's review. We apologise you had concerns around cleanliness, we have discussed this with our housekeeping teams. We reviewed all our staffs' uniforms on site and did not find any colleagues wearing dirty uniforms, but we will continue to monitor this. The unit discussed is managed with the local hospital for residents who stay for a very short time; this unit does have activity staff who focus on activities such as exercises, quizzes and bingo. Our activity team plan a range of activities on our core units such as days out, singers and theatres, however we are unable to plan as such for this unit as most residents would be discharged by the time of the activity. Check out our Facebook page to see all our activities across site.

Poor communication between myself and staff looking after relative. Social services extremely poor. Bedroom not cleaned properly. No attempt made to ensure my relative received her own clothing from the laundry, even though all clothing was named and with the room number.

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are sorry you had concerns about your relatives stay on our step-down unit used in conjunction with the local hospital to help relieve pressure on acute beds. As discussed, social services must move people to suitable placements as quickly and safely as possible, to ensure beds are available for those who need them the most. We apologise you did not find the bedroom to a good standard and had issues with laundry, we have raised this with our housekeeping lead and team. We have also addressed your concerns raised via letter.

Mersey Parks Care Home

from S S (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 February 2025

Too many managerial swaps and they take a lot of holidays.
Poor hygiene care for residents. Staff not professional in bedside manners.
No contact with residents unless medication, food or change. Animals, not every patient likes animals and they run free.
No menu for patients, same thing, repetitive.
If
complain hostile staff.
End-of-life was told to clear the room and mother was still lying there. Unforgivable.
Unfortunate experience for the resident and family.

Review of

Kirkby House Care Home

from N W (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

On researching care homes I read each review for Kirkby House and came across one that began - ''if you're in the awful, heartbreaking position where you have to find a care home for your loved one, you can rest assured that Kirkby House is a fantastic place for them.'' - I was in that exact predicament
I had done various 'care home tours'' - I arrived 'un announced' which was not a problem (this was a big decision, involving 'my mum') I noticed immediately how clean it was, the residents looked cheerful, happy and content, a food menu on display to view what had/would be eaten, various daytime activities, numerous visiting areas to visit in, access to an outside maintained secure garden - my mum loved being outside in the garden at her home. The atmosphere was that day and still is to date lovely, friendly, and welcoming. (Christmas was beautiful/special) Every member of staff is outstanding, going above and beyond with care and love. I can honestly say that Kirkby House is the best.

Fazakerley House Care Home

from Lesley H (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My dad passed away recently in the local hospital, age 92. Up until then he had resided at Fazakerly House. I cannot praise them all highly enough. The girls who cared for him were absolutely wonderful, they could not do enough for him. He was much loved by the staff there. He had a lovely ensuite
room, he called it his holiday apartment. He was always warm and comfortable. If he needed access to a GP or nurse they were always quick to visit him. My brother, sister and myself are so grateful to the wonderful team and just wanted to thank them so much for the excellent care they showed my dad.

Also a special mention to the cleaners, who kept Fazakerley house so clean. Never were there any unpleasant smells that sometime occur in homes. Finally to the team who were simply marvellous and I cannot thank them enough

On entering Moss View, I was extremly happy, pleased and relieved. The cleanliness, politeness and help of staff is next to none. When I arrive on occasion they have sing-alongs and guess who the celebrate is, it's so uplifting to see everyone joining in, including myself and other relatives. They have
a birthday board on the wall of patients whose bday to is with a photo of when they were younger until now, it is so nice. I actually walked out saying to my daughter if I ever need a home put me there.

Kirkby House Care Home

from L W (Daughter of Resident) published on 30 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Prior to my mum going to Kirkby House her dementia had progressed resulting in her decline, her personal care, eating, taking plenty of fluids, and getting lost outside had become much worse.
We sat down with Mum expressing our concerns for her safety and asked if she would like to go and visit Kirkby
House, we did this for a week or so while getting support from mums social worker, thankfully mum had agreed she would like to go and live at Kirkby House (this was during September 2024).
It is now 4 months on and Mum is doing amazingly, all her needs are met, and mum is safe and settled at Kirkby House.
The family cannot thank the staff enough for the amazing work that they provide for Mum, all her dietary needs are met, and mum is provided with everything at the home while the family still maintains some normality for Mum in the outside world, she can still do the things she wants outside the only difference is family members will take mum out and then bring her back to the home.
Thank you.
